Target is pretty wild for not locking these up

So people are pretty wild for stealing but target is even wilder for not locking these up lol.

Or just have them wrapped in cellophane?

  2. LazyPizza11

What sort of a shithole country do you live in where you need to lock up golf balls? 😂

  3. h1r0ll3r

Just sad and pathetic really. If I were Target Loss prevention, I’d hit up FB marketplace and see how many “BRAND NEW PRO V1s” listing there are.

Same at Walmart. Opened a box of chrome softs on the shelf. Every sleeve in the box was warbirds instead

Theres lots of shit at Target worth more than golf balls that aren’t locked up . Try not to look for opportunities to steal.

What a shit world if we had to lock everything up.

Situation is the same at my Target. They had a couple of boxes of Pro V1’s, and the contents had been swapped out with the cheapest balls on the shelf. I don’t understand why these boxes aren’t sealed. I also don’t understand who is so into golf that they want to play Pro V1’s, but also has no issue with shoplifting. I would have thought that the Venn diagram on that would have been two circles barely touching, and yet this seems to be an epidemic.

Reason why we check boxes at golf Galaxy

Imagine getting arrested for stealing golf balls lol.

I worked at target. They have very good LP I wouldn’t even try it. They might not get you this time but they will for sure get you next time. Don’t be stupid. Not worth it.

It’s a sad world – look out for yourself – fuck others in the process and sleep fine at night.
We were raised better and I want to believe my kids learned right and wrong and are now teaching my grandkids.
The “golden rule” is the one rule to live by.

This is why I order golf balls online anymore. Not worth the risk of this and too impatient to go thru a line to have the cashier open the locked ones.

  12. _aphoney

Were we just at the same target??? I had to get some vice balls but they only had Tours and I saw pretty much the same thing.

  13. Since they aren’t wrapped in I don’t understand why they wouldn’t put the Spider Wrap things on them so they can’t be opened until you get to the register.

I used to work at target and the amount of stuff that is stolen is crazy and we can’t do anything about it, I’ve seen two Xboxs stolen (by one guy) I’ve found empty boxes of golf balls, empty boxes of pokemon stuff, boxes of legos opened up and just the bags taken out. It’s wild

  15. stallra14

They are probably in the woods or in the pond now lol

Up in Canada they lock up the $15 golf gloves at Canadian Tire – perplexing.

    Edit: Sp.

  17. Amphibian-Existing

My targets Titleist had noddles in them. Just checked.

  18. BiologyJ

Why wouldn’t these be wrapped or sealed with tape?

  19. ynwa7777777

Crazy that they have the barcodes on the box lids, which can easily be swapped, vs the bottoms. At least make them earn their take..

  20. My supersofts had a giant security tag on them (they were also $2 more than the same box at dick’s right next store)

  21. wunsloe0

My mother-in-law got me a box of pro v1s one year for Christmas. When I opened them up on the course they distance noodles.

  22. Even-Further

Its pretty wild to not crack down on crime and, not dish out harsh punishments.

  23. Fit-Turnover2638

The bag of recycled 36 for $15 is such a good deal

  24. zblaze68

How many dozen of “Taylormade distance” did you buy? 🙄

  25. SHP1856

It actually looks like they didn’t swap the sleeves out and just switch box tops.
If they scanned the bar code on the bottom of the box at self checkout they would have paid full price

  26. Neverbanned2k4

Still baffled by why these golf ball producers don’t seal the package. 2 stickers and you know the package is tampered with. I say this for people who buy a box and get home to find top flites in there. Really can’t stop people besides locking them up.

But I could also see people asking for a box of prov1 and top flite and just swapping and buying the one box.

    Bunch of jerks out therd

  27. No_Paramedic_2039

My brother-in-law bought a dozen Pro V1s from Walmart this summer.

I went to play with him and he opened the box and, I kid you not, there were a dozen pink lady noodle balls inside the box.

He brought them back and was able to exchange them, but of course he’ll never live that down.

  28. BobWheelerJr

Golf used to be a game of honesty and integrity. I hate that we’ve brought in so many shitty people in the name of inclusion and growing the game.

  29. AlexistenceTheReal

I don’t think it’s wild to expect people not to steal. Degenerates out there stealing is wild.

  30. XfreetimeX

No, it’s fucked up you gotta lock up golf balls. If you can’t afford prov1’s then hit some top rocks or pinnacle for fuck sake.

  31. There’s no way someone who is willing to steal Pro V1’s is actually good enough to benefit from them.

  32. ChesterDrawerz

and redditors wonder who it is that’s not raking bunker, fixing ball marks or filling divots.

  33. 12358132134

How much of an effort by the manufacturer would be to shrink wrap these boxes?

  34. DistinctLead2147

Golfers dont steal. Thieves dont play golf

  35. Willing-Ant-3765

$60 for a dozen golf balls is crazy to me. Are they actually worth that much?

  36. True-Wasabi-363

The twats that do this type of thing are the ones that are gonna lose them all after two rounds.

  37. siderealdaze

Guaranteed that the ball thief hits 300y drives “most of the time” and “usually shoots in the 70s” but actually slices it 200y en route to a mulligan-filled “98”

  38. WeAreAllFooked

Pretty sure it’s a trap… didn’t Target wait until a lady had stolen enough to qualify for a serious charge before they reported her to police?
