Procore C’ship Round 1: Lipsky Leads As Stars Struggle

David Lipsky set the first-round lead at the Procore Championship by shooting a 7-under-par 65. Lipsky birdied four of his final six holes at the Silverado Resort’s North Course, en route to a 5-under 32 on his back nine.

Lipsky, who entered the week at No 165 in the FedEx Cup point standings, has a simple philosophy for the fall: “Just have a good time and take what comes at me.”

Tied for third at 5-under 67 were Mark Hubbard, Kevin Dougherty, Wilson Furr, Kevin Streelman and Joel Dahmen.

It wasn’t the best of rounds for the pre-tournament favorites though – Sahith Theegala lies T-22 with a 3-under par while Wyndham Clark is T-37 with a score of 2-under par.

📌 Hubbard’s Wild Week: Mark Hubbard celebrated a day’s good work at the Procore Championship by wolfing down one of Silverado Resort’s famed burger dogs – he carded nine birdies to register a score of 5-under 67.

Hubbard almost missed playing in one of his favorite tournaments on the PGA Tour and it was all his fault. He missed Friday’s 5 pm ET deadline to register for the tournament itself.

There weren’t any sponsor invites available, so Hubbard did the next best thing: he decided to play the Monday qualifier and carried his good form into Round 1.
