I’d love to have all the flag poles to have measurement marks on them, I suck at judging distances so it would be really helpful. I’d only mark every 6” so it doesn’t look quite so busy.

Heart break. Hole in one requires a nice shot and a bit of luck. Well, I have witnessed a hole in one that was nothing but luck. A pulled, slicing bladed shot that got no more than 10 feet of the ground goes screaming across the green from left to right, hits the pin and drops straight in. Still can’t believe it.

That is one soft green. I have never seen a pitch mark that big from 150 yards.

Beautiful. Curious if the ball just hopped next to it’s mark, or bounce a couple feet and rolled back. Never really thought about it, but a ball that rolls around a bit has a much higher chance of finding the hole.
I feel like on soft greens my 8i tends to just “stick” like this without a bounce & spin. Which I will now start using as an excuse for having no hole-in-ones.

My FIL did this on a Par 3 last weekend. Couldn’t believe how close he got. We both ended up getting birdie on the hole. I had to sink an 18 foot putt to do it though, he had an easy tap in. Was very surprising since we both are bogey golfers and I’ve only had one other birdie in the year and some change I’ve been playing.
The funny thing is, I managed a birdie on the following hole and thought I might go on a little run. Then I shot a 8 on the hole after that and knew I just got lucky on the last two holes. lol
