Course ready whenever you think you can keep up with the group in front of you. If you can make consistent contact like this, I’d say you’re probably there.

    I like the username.

  2. The big thing when you get on course is pace of play. You have to be able to keep up with the group in front of you not cause backups on the course.

Start on a par 3 course or get a tee time on a regular size course a couple hours before dark for less pressure to keep pace.

People who hit worse than you hold me up on the course all the time.

  4. I wouldn’t wait too long. Even if you play bad it’s not a problem if you keep up decent pace by picking up or moving your ball if it takes too long. Would suggest a par 3 course.

You’re course ready. Get out there and have some fun!

Handy tool for beginners getting out on the course: A decent golfer friend to play with and a happy willingness to (after a few bad hacks out of a tough lie, or whatever the scenario may be) just say “It’s cool I’ll just pick up and play from where you are!”. No need to track your every shot right away, just getting out and learning to feel comfortable on the course and the typical pace of play will help you get better, faster and practice with purpose! Swing’s looking better with every post!

I’m currently struggling with my irons big time. I’ve been playing almost 30 years. I’m jelly

Play the course. If you are falling behind the group in front of you, pick up and move to the next hole. But it will help you learn the game as well.

  9. Chest_Advanced

Great follow through and incorporation of legs and rotation. Bravo!

  10. Whiterhino77

Lmfao you’d be middle of the pack in my men’s league you’re ready. Go out there and have fun, if you’re doing it with the right people it’s relaxing

  11. Somterink

I mean if you can hit the ball straightish most of the time you’re pretty much ready. Par 3 courses are the best to start on and definitely made golf less intimidating for me when I was just starting.

  12. Cozer124

You’re always course ready more practice will just mean you get round in less shots 😂 when I first played 9 I think I scored like 90 so just enjoy it

  13. Morelife5000

You are ready now. You have to understand what you think happens on a golf course is not what really happens.

I’ve seen some of the most unathletic, uncoordinated, non-motor skill, unhinged, and delusional golfers out there on a regular basis.

You’d be surprised at what a large percentage of dudes out on the course are absolutely terrible.

  14. Musclesturtle

That’s a nice swing. Right on plane.

You should do just fine on course.

  15. PresterJohnsKingdom

You’re course ready, for sure – as long as you follow etiquette.

No one should care how “good” you are – it’s all about pace of play. I’m bad – but I play bad quickly.

Just get out there and have fun.

  16. Whirrun

Right about now! I play a wednesday league with some D players that have worse swings than that.

  17. LastWaltzer

What are you waiting for. Get out there

  18. Ghostface400

Solid swing! Bonus points for achieving “Cartoon Face Smack” sound on ball strike. Not many tour pros can get that right.

  19. MarineBand5524

Go find some fun par 3 courses or a fun smaller 9 hole.

  20. immersedmoonlight

Overqualified for your first real round

  21. SeeDub23

The swing looks great! What you have going on with your right leg is a bit unconventional- but also resembles the best player in the world. So I would roll with it 🤷🏼‍♂️

  22. Mindless-Ad2554

Whoa!!!! Lets go. That form has some growth in such a short amount of time. You’re killing it!

  23. spankysladder73

We’ve seen you hit better ones, but yes, you should absolutely go play.

If nervous, play 9 holes in the evening or at a par 3 or short “executive” course.

    Have fun, dont overthink it

  24. Does your pro have a wood hand by any chance?

  25. ElkReasonable9917

You guys are funny. If this was a dude who posted this it’d be torn apart with recommended modifications and people dunking on the swing. Weird dynamic.

  26. Awkward-Collection78

Just go play at a course that isn’t busy or on a day that’s not busy so you can get the feel for it.

The biggest thing is keeping pace of play, but your swing looks better than a lot of the hackers that I get caught behind all the time.

  27. willy-fisterbottom2

It’s cool watching you progress. I caught the golf bug last year and understand how satisfying it is to improve. Keep it up! lessons and range practice on grass I’ve found were most helpful to me

  28. DickSlinga

I’m envious of this post for a few reasons. Wish my swing looked half as good as this when I was less than a year into playing, wish every 2nd person advised ‘take lessons’ when I started playing (98′) and to this day I don’t have the confidence to post a vid of my swing, lol.

  29. AccomplishedSpeed256

Get out there! If you are worried about pace of play try and do a scramble with someone with more experience. Honestly looking at that swing you should be fine
