  1. You are more likely to be shot in Philadelphia than S. Paulo, but ignorance is supreme. That's not how you expand your viewership, meanwhile the world cup gets 30x more viewers than the Super Bowl. You may not like it, but these are facts.

  2. Sao Paulo city homicide rate: 7.8

Sao Paulo state homicide rate: 5.7

    Philadelphia homicide rate: 20.1

    Pennsylvania homicide rate: 9.2

  3. Let's be honest, the real reason is because the players would be drunk on the next club surrounded by Brazilian pros. And pics and footages of this party could be bad for business

  4. São Paulo is safer than Philly 100%. Just like any large city, there are places you shouldn't go. They could've visited many places and no one would've bothered them.

  5. I am Brazilian and I am really sad to hear that. Brazil specially Rio is one of the most beautiful places in the World. I live in America and things here don’t look any better.

  6. Ignorance………Just like other big city around the world…Theres some neigbor u dont belong….Just have a good time ….

  7. Excuse me? And you are from Philly? In Philadelphia, your chance of becoming a victim of a property crime is one in 23, which is a rate of 43 per one thousand population.

  8. what a bad lie, Brazil can be violent, but its not lawless country, São Paulo is the biggest city in south america and very well developed . North Americans should reserch more about Brazil.

  9. It's impressive how stereotypes about safety in Brazil persist, even in the face of data that contradicts them. Comparing São Paulo to Philadelphia, suggesting that the former is more dangerous, is at the very least mistaken. Crime statistics clearly show that the homicide rate in Philadelphia is significantly higher than in São Paulo.

It's important to remember that the perception of safety is not limited to numbers. The feeling of insecurity can vary according to several factors, such as the area of the city, the time of day, and even the personal experience of each individual. However, generalizing about an entire city based on isolated cases or deep-rooted prejudices is unfair and demonstrates a profound lack of knowledge about Brazilian reality.

If you have the opportunity to visit São Paulo, I recommend that you do so with an open mind and a willingness to truly get to know the city. You will see that it is a vibrant metropolis, with a rich culture and a welcoming population. Safety, as in any big city, is a complex issue that requires effective public policies and the cooperation of all.

  10. I've lived in São Paulo for 20 years, I've never been robbed, but I avoid going out with my cell phone on the street. But there's a worse place than São Paulo for robberies and Rio de Janeiro, there you can be hit by a stray bullet at any time.

  11. São Paulo homicide rate is half that of Philadelphia.

The NFL is getting bad press with this nonsense. If it planned to get fans in Brazil, it will probably lose more fans than gain.

Starting with the whole green issue. Total non understanding of football ⚽ culture, even when US news try to explain it.

Outside the US, it's NOT franchises. There is promotion and relegation. Cities may have several clubs in the top league. Ever saw TED LASSO?

São Paulo has 3 major clubs. The NFL game will take place at Corinthians stadium.

Their biggest rivals are Palmeiras, who play in green.

Don't wear green near the Corinthians stadium IN A CORINTHIANS MATCH!

It won't be a Corinthians match. So no danger

  12. Brazilian fans should boycott this match after all this shitstorm from US fans and media.

The us a reason the sport is mostly restricted to the US. The xenophobic fans.

We play the most popular sport on the planet. The UEFA Champions League final has 3 times the audience of the Superbowls

The largest Superbowl audience was 123 million people.

This years Champions League final had 450 million viewers.

The 2023 final between Real Madrid and Liverpool clocked 700 million viewers worldwide

  13. As a Brazilian, I felt really offended by that. We have problems, but not any worse than any other big cities worldwide. Brazil is not anything like that. Still, was a great game. Happy to see it here.

  14. Sao Paulo is no more dangerous than London. Obviously there are places that you don't go to in both cities but Brazil isn't a war zone.

  15. It is pretty strange that the NFL players got these instructions. What's more, it would be a nice chance for them to walk on the streets, I mean, they would not be recgonized in the streets, they probably don't walk around New York. I get the impression the concern was not safety, but some fear of eventual bad press for the league.

  16. The Brazilian people are the most welcoming in the world. If we released this player in the most dangerous place in São Paulo, as a social experiment, people would serve him coffee, cheese bread and take him to his hotel. This is serious!

  17. I'm really enjoying the fall-season sports with an ongoing gen-side as a backdrop ? … Not one sports team has come out to show solidarity with the Palestinian plight. Not even one.

  18. Como brasileiro liga para bobagens que estrangeiros dizem ou pensam sobre a gente. Se eles acham que aqui é uma zona de guerra, pois, que se lasquem. Grande merda.

  19. São Paulo is way safer than Philadelphia. Were they warned about that as well? I think the warning was more about how these aneducated players would act in Brazil rather than crime. Do you guys remember about that American swimmer who acted so badly during the Olympics in Rio and caused a scandal? I think their concern was more about that, but they used crime as an excuse to fool those dumb players.

  20. I am Brazilian, Just look at the statistics:
Philadelphia: Population of about 1.6 million, with approximately 35 homicides per 100,000 inhabitants in 2022.
São Paulo: Population of over 12 million, with approximately 6 homicides per 100,000 inhabitants in 2022.
Even with a much larger population, São Paulo has a significantly lower homicide rate than Philadelphia. So, how are things? How’s Zombieland in Philadelphia?
