  1. That 3/4 shot can be like a laser beam. I've been hitting it for almost two years now, like Moe Norman said, feeling like I'm pulling the flagstick out with my hands.

  2. MOIN 👋 my 🇩🇪 brother! You gotta secure your Knockwurst 🌭 so it’s not messing with your balance bro👍😉BOK BOK!!

  3. How on earth does Martin only have 157K followers. Come on peeps. This guy is a first class elite player. Keep up the great content, Martin.

  4. Very informative stuff as usual from Dan. Nice questions and back and forth, but got the sense that Martin already knew all the answers and already owns all those skills. The act was for us, the viewers. 🙂 Pretty sure it's legal, what with literary license and all. The big man is talented.

  5. I’m getting so lost, I just watched a Phil mickelson short game video and he said to not release it like 1 or 2 with the hinge and hold it looks like he only releases it as 0 then hold the release. But here it’s different. Who do I follow 😂

  6. I feel like Martin learns things so dang quickly! Rick Shiels took hours/days to figure out release 1. 😂

  7. Some great questions during the session really has helped me understand the thoughts behind the techniques. Great job mate 👏

  8. I'm not sure if Dan will read this, but I'd be curious to know his thoughts on how those fat grips Martin and Bryson use, as to whether he thinks they would be or not be a problem with the short game, would they hinder say release 3 for example. Yes Bryson is awesome, but his own admission is hes far from the best short game on tour

  9. Great video. Dan, your approach always makes so much sense and Martin asks some very good questions. Very informative.

  10. I wonder how Martin would fare on the PGA tour. He couldn’t use his long drive pedal-to-the-metal swing, but he probably still would have 20 yards on the longest hitters, e.g. McIlroy. He’d be coming into all the greens with short irons. Then it would just be a question of whether he putts well.

  11. Very good technique summary – there is no one method or setup that always works – and it takes practice. Your ability to listen and learn Dan is a big reason you are a top athlete. Most people just do not listen – they hear what they want to hear.

  12. For those of us who watch a lot of Dan's videos – the graphics in this one are the best, really help explain those different 'Releases'.

  13. Martin Borgmeier got the hang of the instruction quickly and it won't take him long to get used to and good at it.

  14. Well presented gents. Quite amazing how quickly Martin began seeing improvement soon as he followed Dan's instruction. Now I can't wait to hit some wedges.

  15. Good lesson, And best student i've ever seen.
Dan made a masterclass of shortgame while you've made a masterclass of learning 🔥

I'll go share this video on Instagram right now ⛳

  16. Martin's Golf IQ is obvious. He knows where Dan is going with the concepts before he even introduces them, the clockface approach to pitching being the obvious one. Loved this interaction between the 2 of them. I thought Martin might have knocked Dan down at the end with the back slap!

  17. My thoughts have always been that once the ball leaves the club you have no control of it. Does not matter if you stop 6 inches or 3 ft further.

  18. 3:00 He talks about 3 different release points , then later, when asked at what point the club should be released, he says @6:54 "you don't want it to be conscious. You are not really trying to make it happen".
So then how do you make 3 different release points happen if you don't consciously make it happen???

  19. Never seen anybody asking Dan this many thoughtful questions. Yes, he is a god, but people should never do things "just because". This also brings the best of Dan because he gets to explain that his methods don't come out of thin air, they have good reasons behind a will put you in the best place to succeed.

    Great video! Congrats.

  20. Flip, scoop, let the club do the work, wristy, handsy, etc are all golf terms I absolutely hate. I especially hate "let the club do the work". Many default to this when they cant clearly explain mechanics.

Flip/flick = early release of your wrist hinges
    Scoop = ascending strike
Let the club do the work = depending on context, it can mean relax your muscles and let gravity take over (this is how you achieve finesse), use the default loft (stop manipulating the club face and adding dynamic loft), etc
Handsy/wristy = early release of your wrist hinges or rolling the hands/forearm (closing the club face). Very vague, its two different mechanics, and players loosely use these terms.
