How North Dakota State Became So DOMINANT

North Dakota State has been the definition of dominance since 2011. Multiple wins over FBS teams, 9 national championships, 13 appearances in the semifinals in 14 years, a 9-1 record in the title game, a 47-5 record in the playoffs, and 181 straight weeks and counting of being ranked in the top 25 of the FCS polls. Fans of the school and outside the school have yearned for them to make the jump to the FBS level after 20 years since their move from Division II to the FCS yet the call from a Group of 5 conferences has not come yet. The Bizon will look to add another FBS team to their ranks of wins when they travel to Boulder this week to take on Colorado and will look to go for a 10th FCS National Title this year. This is how North Dakota State became so dominant.

  1. NDSU (The Alabama of the FCS Division). I can respect their decision to stay in the FCS. It's what made them a powerhouse.

  2. NDSU being my hometown college team makes me happy to watch football as the NFL’s Vikings always let me down as the closest team to us.

  3. As a lifelong Bison fan I don’t think it’s likely that we move up anytime in the near future. Us moving up isn’t really popular in Fargo either cause we would much rather have fun and win than be hoping for a .500 season competing with schools with much larger budgets.

  4. False. NDAU has publicly said that they turned down G5 invites. They want power 4. If not, then they will stay in the FCS until the FBS playoffs expand to 16 or 24 teams

  5. SDSU ndsu Montana and Montana state need to move or be behind they should move up as a package deal bc then you have 4 teams in the area

  6. Before the NCC disintegrated, my alma mater, Augustana, was also in that conference with NDSU. It’s still in Division II, & now it's part of the Northern Sun Conference, which includes powerhouse Minnesota-Duluth.

  7. NDSU, SDSU, and Montana should go FBS together and all join the American conference as a northern division. Throw in some closer competition and let it ride until they’re ready for another jump to a better conference

  8. Covering the roller coaster history of Marshall football could make for a really good video

  9. North Dakota State has become a powerhouse for the FCS for a reason. One of those reasons have to do with their strong recruiting and development, support fan base, leadership, dedication, effective coaching, being very dominant, consistent success, the community and strategic scheduling. They have been a dominating force for a long time now.🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈

  10. A team that has not won any FBS level games since 2016 and gave up over 500 total yards (445 passing) to a 4 win clown show in Colorado is "DOMINANT"?!?!? How much did NDSU pay you under the table to come up with this laughable line of stupid bullshit?!?!

  11. North Dakota State and South Dakota State should join the MAC, C-USA, or the AAC; if both teams ever decide to move to the FBS level.

  12. Aye if youre not already working on it, how about a video on Colorado?

I think now that they got past NDSU it will be interesting to see the potential rise of the CU program under Deion in his second year.

Its wild because the team has a high perfentage of tranfers and some interesting recruits.

I think if they fan at least go 6-6 for the season and kake a Bowl Game thats a massive improvement but they could do even better.

  13. If the NDSU was to join any FBS conference it should be the MAC. It’s the easiest conference for traveling since they are the closest. After watching the Colorado/NDSU game…. They could definitely do well in the MAC. Question is… would they be okay with only going to low tier bowl games and not championship games?

The MAC should also look at SDSU and Northern Iowa Football teams… both would make the conference interesting.
