Yeah I’m floating between an all time low of 5.6 and 7 this year. These are basically my scores. I remember talking to someone a few years ago and saying it was a lifetime goal to get to be a single digit handicap. After I understood how handicap actually works I realized I already was a single digit handicapper!

This is accurate, I’m an 8 and my range this year is 75-90.

Wow okay thank you for posting this. I was feeling like a fraud this season because I’m a 6.3 and this could be a screenshot from my GHIN app. Lots of high 70s and a 72 but also my most common score is 82-83 and some blowups in the 90s

Yep. As a 6hdcp, my best rounds are mid 70’s. Majority of rounds fall between 78-82.

These look like my scores and I’m about a 10

So other than having an answer when someone asks “what’s your handicap”, what’s the point in keeping one? Like when you shoot an 86 and it adjusts to 78.. do you believe you really shot a 78?
Seems like made up bullshit for ego stroking, but I’m open to being wrong.

Mostly accurate.

Can confirm as a 6.6

Imagine you play 20 rounds, 12 rounds 80-90 with greater than 6 differential. If the average of your top 8 rounds is around +6 differential that’s all it takes. You could have three 78-82 scores on harder courses and three 75-78 on easier courses and two high single digit differentials and get there.

Can someone eli5 how the scores on the right come out to a 6?
The lowest score on there is a 77. Math is not mathing.

Thanks for reminding me – it reinforced the fact that golf is a cruel mistress – builds up your ego than snatches it away. Only to return with the hope that a magic round could be today??!!
