Pebble Beach cost

If anyone’s wondering what the current actual cost is to golf Pebble Beach, here you go. Not sure if there’s other ways to do it cheaper, but I just called the resort for info. BTW, I did book this trip! Can’t wait to go! Obviously the $7500 for two people is just the tip of the iceberg, but I’ve been planning and saving for this moment for most of my adult life lol. It’s also crazy how full the courses are. For booking a year out, there were not too many available tee times (according to the agent).

    I have it, I ain’t spending it.

I’m going to a 6 star resort in St Barts for 8 nights for that much next June

  2. sqwirlfucker57

That breaks down to only $138.89 per putt which is basically a steal

  3. Cgolden456

Go play the back 9 at the PG golf links for a fraction of the cost. Front nine is meh but the back nine is beautiful. Poor man’s pebble beach.

  4. GolfGodsAreReal

That’s 2 weeks of Hawaiian vacation with all the best courses and ocean views you could ever imagine. No thank you Pebble.

  5. AnxiousMind7820

I’ll play it on the computer.

I can do a lot of golfing and other stuff for that kind of money.

  6. mannnerlygamer

Well the mega millions is up to 740 million tonight. There is a 1 in 300,000,000 chance I will be able to play pebble anytime soon

Called and played Spyglass without staying or caddies for 480 and felt like a rip. Could do 6 rounds 2 nights at Bandon for the same cost as 1 night 1 round at pebble.

You can blame me, I’m partially (directly) responsible for this as I used to work at Pebble and a big part of my job was strategic pricing and setting minimum night stays.

In my 30’s I wanted to do this trip when I turned 50. I’ll be 60 next year and it still ain’t happening. For rea$on$.

The problem with that kind of anticipation and high expectations, plus the long time saving and big expense, is the danger of a big anticlimax. Friend of mine was so looking forward to playing St Andrews, it was a big let down..

Part of me feels upset at the course for these insane prices, part of me feels upset at consumers who pay them, and part of me is happy that this is perfect capitalism. Obviously there are lots of people who are eager to pay ~$1200 for a round at these courses (plus I assume a ~$200 caddy tip), so Pebble Beach might as well rake it in. I sincerely hope the people who play think it was worth it afterward, and if they do I can’t really make a judgement about it

They charge what people will pay so I don’t get too mad at them (although places like Bandon keep rates much more reasonable and are just booked much farther out which is admirable).

BUT I get so freaking disgusted when PB and the PGA tour try to promote that they are some egalitarian bastion of public courses. I don’t give a shit if any one is allowed to make a tee time when 90%+ of golfers are priced out.

And yes I have played it and could afford to play it again but likely won’t.

Downvote all you want but it’s worth it. One of the best vacations of my life.

Just had a trip up to Chambers Bay that included 2 hotel nights, 4 nice rounds with 1 of them being at Chambers, for $740 per person.

Thought it was very reasonable and Chambers Bay was one of my favorite courses I’ve ever played.

  15. Which_Donkey_9450

Not sure I could pay 675 for a round but I know the price just keeps going up.

  16. Mtanderson88

Never understand why people willing to shell out that much for golf… plenty of great golf trips for way less

  17. Look on the bright side – the higher you shoot, the lower the cost per stroke.

My buddy bought the Dukes club membership so we get some great deals from time to time, thankfully it is close enough that driving down for an early tee time is no big deal. Love Spanish Bay. Walking for under $200 is great. $50 cart fee is pretty stupid. I’ve walked around pebble during the Open and ATT so I can’t see dropping the coin to play it, but to each their own. Might do Spyglass since one if our regular foursomes birthday is coming up.

Worth every penny I’ve played them all

I booked last week! Good on you to pull the trigger.

I have a year to practise before I go.

    😂

Congrats dude, enjoy the trip. It’s expensive but it’s your money and worth it to you. Have a blast.

  22. mxracer948

The only way to get it cheaper is if you book the day before. This lets you avoid the required 2 nights in the hotel. I did construction there for a year, I saw people out there playing in full on rain storms. But for that money youre not going to call it and sit inside.

  23. SouthOrlandoFather

Has anyone ever played Pebble Beach and not told anyone?

  24. YesManSky

It’s a bucket list type of thing, just think for the same money or 10x more you still can’t play Augusta

  25. skrayt_killen_hoes

Tpc Sawgrass is $900 peak season….pebbles a steal comparatively

  26. readsalotman

Not bad for a lifetime memory, if you’re a golf enthusiast.

  27. DZ4twenty

If your nearby and a single you can call the day before and they can work you in to a 3some at pebble for the next day. Was there last month

  28. Ancient_Fig3715

I went this February. It was only me and I called the day before I wanted to play and they had a 9:30 tee time.

  29. Kyle_bro_chill

My problem isn’t the $675 green fee for Pebble. Like at the end of the day it’s a bucket list course and arguably the #1 in the world. My problem is them forcing you to stay at the resort in order for that to happen.

I wish I could just add pebble beach into a Monterey trip and get an air bnb or other hotel.

  30. ColoradoAztec

Did this same itinerary 25 years ago for my buddy’s 40th birthday and while it was less than $7500, it was not a lot less! Well worth it! I leave on Tuesday for Kohler for my wife’s birthday on a similar trip! We have been doing it for decade birthdays since that Pebble trip! Highly recommend!

  31. Obadiah_Plainman

There will always be a market for Pebble’s pricing, I get that. And it truly is a bucket list course.

But this has gotten out of control.

  32. Best-Safety-6096

Last time I was there it was $495. Managed to get a tee time a couple of days in advance so didn’t have to stay there.

Cypress is now more expensive (if unaccompanied). $750 plus caddy.

If you play with a member it’s $50.

  33. CleanAxe

It’s a lot harder if you have a very small window for your trip but I’ve never heard of anyone not getting on through the waitlist. Basically if you’re down to not have a guaranteed tee time, you can get on the waitlist and they’ll call you the night before if you can get on. In those cases you just have to pay the greens fees so it’s really not bad. Higher likelihood if it’s weekdays instead of weekends. IMO if you’re willing to spend $8k to make it happen, I bet if you simply took half that and put it towards a longer stay at a cheaper hotel (maybe stay 5 days instead of 2) you’ll have a decent chance of getting on one of those 5 days.

  34. Daddio226

Reservations booked for November. 12 good friends. It’s a lifetime opportunity.
