  1. My top 10. Been in Marrakesh many times. Play off 16 handicap. My wife plays off 28. In our 60s. The tee colours are the usual. Red for ladies. Men's tees are various colours. Yellow, Blue, White, Black.
For example ASSOUFID has black tees and I would not suggest a high handicapper contemplating the black tees. Very long and some of the carries are intimidating for sure.

So for those for example going to enjoy and relax and still looking for a decent challenge then I have graded the courses based on my experiences and opinion. As you can imagine the greens are fast. And the ball will run away from you. Pace judgement is crucial. Same goes for all the courses.

    My Top Three.
    1. Samanah is the top one. Designed by Jack Nicklaus and the venue of the PGA championship not long ago. The year escapes me. I played off both yellow and blue and still long but the whites are over 7200 metres. Par 72. Water hazards but watch the slopes because your ball will run away. from you. Wide generous fairways. Staff brilliant. Adyl is the course manager and a great guy.
    2. Royal Marrakesh. Beautiful tree lined with well guarded greens. Also long off the whites. Think the length is again around 7200 metres and par 72. Tendency is to under club and even with range finders it can be tricky. Please note I have quoted yardage in metres not yards.
    3. Assoufid. Wow. This is the big one. Even someone who can drive 220 – 260 metres or further you will still struggle to always get on in 2. My drives at best are 230 but the ball does travel further in Morocco. In the UK i can just make 210/220 yards in the summer. Bunkers everywhere and greens well protected. If you can hit your second shot to say a 430 metre par 4 over the bunkers and drop down onto the green with back spin then go for it. But generally unless you have the skill and can use say a 6 or 7 iron from 170/180 metres over the bunkers and stop the ball then you will be in danger of finding a bunker. If you want to take a chance with a 5 iron go for it but the ball will be flattening out as it descends. You may shoot over the bunkers but then less chance of stopping the ball on the fast slick greens. This is why ASSOUFID in my opinion is for lower handicappers even off the yellow white or blues. Not the blacks.
Other course we have played are easier but still challenging. Recommend AL MADDEN. Similar to Samanah. And NORIA is slightly shorter and very interesting.
But the choice is yours and the views of the Atlas Mountains are amazing. Sunny hot but not the humidity we have here in London where we come from. And the generous friendships from the locals are absolutely amazing. Smiles everywhere.
Hope this helps and remember it is based on my experience and opinion. Good luck.
