So much denial in the room. In five days, the Pats are going to make a decision on their #1 QB, and Drake Maye has just had his first three practice snaps with the #1 offense. Figure it out, people.
When Maye gets a start will depend on how the team does starting out. We're all going to have to wait and see. If the team goes 0-4 and the offensive line looks passable, then, yeah, Maye should start playing for next year. If, however, the team goes 2-2, then Brissett deserves to keep playing the easier games to see if the Pats can win them. If they do, and are then 4-2, Maye should sit until the Pats are officially eliminated from playoff contention. That's the least you can do for the other 52 players on the roster who want to win games NOW. Can't sacrifice 52 players for one. Great way to get the team ticked at both Mayo and Maye. That would not be worth it.
Our line is dog shit. And literally everyone agreed early on to let Maye develop for a year. Stop trying to peer pressure him into playing. Is he better than Jacoby? Obviously, but throwing him out there this year will not yield the results we want. Take this shittt year on the chin and build an oline next year then let him come out swinging.
If Harrison Mevis is available, cut Chad Ryland and sign him on the practice squad.
