An emotional Aaron Boone and Gerrit Cole assess damage of Yanks losses to Mets | SNY

Fired up Yankees manager Aaron Boone doesn’t care about the trade deadline or any other outside noise, only that his team “has to play better.” He still believes in his team but a pair of blowout losses to the Mets will require some swift damage control. Gerrit Cole who surrendered six earned runs, eight hits, including three home runs, seemed bewildered by the Mets roughing him up for the second time this season.

  1. That was bush league what Cole did by throwing his glove in the air. That wouldn't be tolerated in little league let alone the Major Leagues with an overpaid so-called ace making 36 million big ones a year. Disgraceful and embarrassing behavior.

  2. While speaking about overpaid underperforming players, the owners need to take control of their sport and if it takes locking the players out at the next CBA negotiations then so be it. The salaries are absolutely/ insanely preposterous and undeserving.

  3. Some folks are on here saying who Boone should be mad at and about time he’s mad. Are you people serious? He obviously gets plenty of instructions from the front office people. And like severino said they have 2 guys that can hit. All you Volpe lovers would have been calling for his benching long ago if he wasn’t a golden boy from Bergen county NJ . And don’t try to argue that one. He sucked last season and you homers proppped him up anyway. Don’t argue without looking up his numbers.

  4. He says “it’s tough especially when you wear this uniform” Boone the Yankees haven’t been anything special in over 10 years now

  5. It's like hearing that same old song play over and over and over again! It gets old fast listening to Aaron Boone say "it's right in front of us!"

  6. Fire Brian Cashman. I know you're obviously terrified to do it for some reason, Hal, but it has been time to do so for years

  7. Its right in front of us….. (AGAIN!) lol ! I will now beat my head on the wall for the rest of the day lol

  8. Not being a Yankee fan does anyone ever think Boone might be the problem, every team has injuries and every year they buy him stars yet no cigar just saying
