A week ago news broke out of the Caribbean that Johnny Grave would be stepping down as Cricket West Indies CEO in October 2024.
Machel jumped into the CCP studio to analyse the impact of Johnny Grave on West Indies cricket

You throwing in your hat for CEO
You better become the CEO no one deserves to be a CEO more than you for westindies cricket
No facts. Very interesting, I wouldn't like any position in CWI currently…😂. This isn't even about the cricket. I said it earlier this week politics run through every facet of life….Windies cricket. CWI meetings must be terrible and tense, no thanks, 27 million deficit naah. That's pressure. Ok the money is up nope, it's a poisoned chalice. Yes, I've heard about this old guard, all of this makes sense why there is a struggle. I mean you can even see it in the Test team, they play struggle cricket.
I don't even think CWI even realise how powerful the brand is, others do, when I say others I mean countries.
I stand by this, no other team wants to see Windies on top, it's not just the team winning but the region. I will bring race into this as well, Windies cricket also presents diversity (always has) look at Da Silva, I'm certain that's Portuguese Jewish ancestry. I will do my research on JG. Somehow CCP need to be apart of the integral change.
Santoke next ceo
CWI (Cameron) lucky Trinidad doesn't do like Guyana and not show up to WI games after they did our GOAT generation dirty. That clown drove me out of cricket entirely until he left, and fences started in mend, and when I found CCP, I was locked in.
Until cricket officals stop treating their position as a level of longevity and focus on productivity the ship is doom to sink………… sadly again.
When are you going to apply for the position Mach, you could surely do it!
Dave cameron really screwed up by messing with out golden era that man needs to be dealt with by Mach😂
Mach think on a previous Mason & Guest show it was mentioned Roland Holder was not being retained in his Role. So he is also leaving!!!
I always said that CWI missed a golden opportunity to use the GOAT T20 team as a revenue generating machine post 2016 world cup victory. Instead of using that leverage to get t20 tours with the big-3 to build up the kitty…it was all about victimization. Looks like little Brave was correct #…..
Mash ain't ramping today. Less than 10 mins in I hear Cameron being called a crook and the West Indies directors a bunch of old men that won't vote themselves out of power 😂. Like the governance really naw change until the man dem reach Biden age or older I guess
I think we need somebody foreign again to run a CEO not somebody local
Ayyyy rocking the OG Sota Stars hoodie! I see you Mach!
My fav pod in the world
Congrats in advance on 10k
Grass roots is the key but too many always think the solution lies with the selection of the final 11 or 15
I’m disappointed Jonny is gone because I felt with Johnny there was a level of transparency that we didn’t get from other people. He went on sky sports and literally spoke to athers and Hussain and I feel like having an outsider like Johnny come in look at the deeper rooted problems is more affective than someone from the West Indies. I don’t want to blame it or racism or nationalism but when u are pigment deprived u tend to get heard abit more and it was just nice to have someone not Caribbean complain about our problems
Bless up, Machel! I agree with everything you said. West Indies is unique. We have been playing Test cricket since 1928 and it’s a testament to the region that as individual island nations we can collectively compete on the global stage of cricket and hold our own against anybody!
While the recent results are not good I still retain hope for West Indies cricket; we are still producing good cricketers. It’s the off the field issues that need to be addressed. We will soon find out among politicians who truly cares about West Indies cricket when nominations for the new CEO are announced. What is their strategy and remedy for cricket West Indies? When such questions are answered honestly and necessary reform can be implemented purposefully, we just might see a brighter outcome for West Indies men and women’s cricket.
Nice comments Mach, agree re analogy with NZ. I’m a trini living in NZ and hate rugby!!
Mach this is the reason I love watching CCP, you guys get to the point, you’re unbiased, you call it as it is and most of all you analyze things based on context, as a young West Indian fan, I never knew about most of the stuff you spoke about in this video until now and I thank you for educating us( the ones who want to listen without feelings involved) continue doing what you’re doing Mach
What's the update on the A team tour..South Africa A were supposed to be touring WI alongside the senior team weren't they?
