The Twenty Ten Course at Celtic Manor was the first-ever golf course to be purpose-built for The Ryder Cup. One of three championship courses at this comprehensive Wales Golf Resort, The Twenty Ten is undoubtedly the jewel in Celtic Manor’s crown.

The course measures around 7500 yards from the championship tees, from where it offers one of the sternest tests of golf in the UK.
Of course, there are plenty of other tee positions for golfers to find their comfort zones from, but no matter your level, you’ll be challenged by fairways that weave their way through deep rough, countless water hazards and deep, cavernous bunkers.
Putting surfaces are massive, fast and undulating, and feature dramatic runoff areas which will gobble up any stray approach shots and leave very tricky up and downs.

I played it and experience is good. However the Montgomery is far far better in my opinion. Great resort though.
Great resort, you get properly looked after when playing the 2010.
Coach zeroed into that burger, totally oblivious to the rest of the world. Gotta love it.
"We're getting the band back together."
Not in GM's latest Top 100 which I find surprising for a Ryder Cup track. Never played here but looks the equal of the Belfry rated (96) considering the many options on offer at this resort. Had many chances to play here back in the day but couldn't drag myself away from Porthcawl and courses further along the Gower coast. Good vid Rory.
You put up with a lot with those 2 Muppets Rory and playing such difficult courses from the back tees because of their egos. When you need a break, just give me a call.
Just over the M4 you can play Llanwern for about £20…
Celtic Manor is a great golf resort, but two of the Courses are a serious let down IMO.
The best of the 3 is the Roman Road Course, it's a Gem👍
The Montgomery is outrageously HILLY, don't go near it if you suffer from virtigo!
The 2010; It's great to tell your mates that you have played a Ryder Cup venue Course, but the 2010 is virtually unplayable unless you are a good single-figure golfer (take plenty of Balls)! Oh and forget trying to play the 15th, if you try to reach the uphill Green with your tee shot, you won't make the carry and if you try to lay up with your tee shot the fairway massively slopes sideways down to a brook and you will lose your ball in the water. Just take a few photos and move on to the 16th.
Rory…you forgot to mention that as green fee payers you are not allowed to play off the white tees as they are reserved for members. Payed the green fee in 2018 and even as 5 handicappers we were restricted to the forward social tees. This meant that instead of having to avoid the bunkers with your drive on the 1st you fly right over them and have a short iron in. Very disappointing not to be able to get the same feeling as the Ryder Cup participants especially for the approaches. Still a good experience but just leaves you a bit frustrated.
Why has Crossfield got his cap on on the restaurant ? 🙄
We’ve got 12 going in 2 weeks! We cannot wait and this video has got me really excited!
We played The Belfy last year a few days after a certain Mr Bland won, let me tell you I’ve never seen or played in rough like it! What a course
