One of the primary differences I see between PGA Tour pros and amateurs on my lesson tee is how they power the golf club out of the top of the swing. Do they muscle it, or do they swing it? This is a key distinction, and has a massive effect on contact, distance, and overall consistency.

In this episode, I will show you the two areas where you should be pulling on the handle or grip of the golf club. But, and this is a big but, it’s not the pulling you’re likely thinking of! It’s not by yanking, firing, throwing, or tensing up…it’s through a more systematic, body driven action. I hope you see the benefits of this tip, and if done properly, I know your ball striking will improve and your swing will feel more effortless!

  1. I’ve had good success with this idea. My swing thought is to start my downswing by moving the left shoulder slightly downward (don’t overdo this) and then as I approach the ball I feel my left shoulder moving up. It’s a U shape movement during the downswing with my left shoulder.
