When he's better than anyone you have to replace him, why bother. If he's good enough, he's young enough. Doesn't matter who opens the bowling at the next Ashes, the batting will still crumble. This is just deflecting from all the other issues this current team have, McCullum and Stokes are using him as a scapegoat.
Age waits for no-one. 1 more Jimmy – just don't get injured during your last game.
What a great bowler
😢
Hope he gets 8 wickets in the final game
This description…honest reaction as opposed to…?
I was hoping for their dishonest reaction.
He's been averaging over 50 with the ball for his last two series, one of them in England. And he's not even playing for his county atm – so it's hard to select him on form. But, given his service to English cricket, he deserves a send off and that's coming from an Aussie. I'd also love to see Joffra Archer in action again in Test cricket. Let's hope he can stay injury free.
ECB oversold Anderson. Absolutely no reaction from any former players, shows Jimmy became irrelevance
Focus on WTC not Ashes 🙄.
Last player of 2003 ODI world cup squad retires and Anderson is GOAT bowler in Test Cricket 🏏 without him Test Cricket doesn't look interesting at all thanks for the memories 🙏
I feel Jimmy is being forced to retire. He is still too good.
What is future of England's swing and seam attack 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Look at their confidence😂😂
Still the best English pace and swing bowler. I'll miss seeing him bowl.
Nass looking more and more like Mr Burns from the Simpson.
want to see him get past Warnie
When was this get together filmed? Was there international cricket on Sky Sports? I thought it was all on back burner until the test summer gets underway in July? Or was this one of the womens games?
I still remember watching him first time, in ODI World cup. There was some hype over him, especially in the newspapers. when I first saw him I thought ok, He's a surprisingly good looking lad for a fast bowler, and he's good at what he's doing, but can he carry on at this rate? and he did prove me wrong for last 21 years, that cute boy is gone, now the man in forties showing, But Hats' off legend, you literally earned it. And I am gonna including you in my all time test eleven surely, along with Akram, Mcgrath and Walsh. And you were a big part of my childhood to midlife. Yours and Sachin's long lasting career will never be repeated for sure. That too in a constant form, That's saying something, Thank you for everything. You will be missed
Very great bowler for England. No doubt that his number of wickets in tests will not be beaten by another pace/seam/swing bowler. Great fielder too. England will definitely miss him.
He should have gone from the Teat arena at least 3 years ago.
He could easily have broken Shane Warne record second most wickets in test cricket
He forced to retire unfortunately
Ian Ward is back. Missed him.
Who's our greatest bowler? Not Jimmy. If Fred Trueman had played 188 tests, he'd have taken 861 wickets, and been the greatest bowler of them all, not just for England.
Anderson is (was) very good, but he was no Trueman (or a handful of others I could mention).
But if such cricketing champions and luminaries like Athers and Hussein say so, them I suppose we must all fall into line, and start blubbing when this superannuated grumpy old bed blocker finally gives it away (but only after being ordered to, of course).
Stark contrast to Broad's exit last year, which was genuinely poignant, classy and well-timed.
Ooooo Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy 😍
What a legend for England. Are greatest bowler ever. Oh Jimmy Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy Anderson! Hopefully I will be there to give him a great send off. Thanks for the memories.
would have liked him to play out the summer, maybe 2/3 tests this year
Not only england's gretaest bowler he is the greatest of the modern era
Anderson. Broad. Warne. McGrath. The Greats of our time.
He should have retired years ago. His performances have not been world-class for a few years, despite what he claims. At least, he will go down as an England great and a legend which is what he deserves for his service
Great shame, forced out
Imagine he pulls a hammy just before the Test and can't play… Tears of laughter will come out of my one eye, and just sobbing like a baby from the other.
What happens if he takes 8 wickets in the match….
He was clearly pushed out the door. He’s too selfish to have made the decision on his own
Why not full series n just one game, McCullum out of jealousy has forced Anderson to end , he could uave played easily for 1 or 2 more years
Anderson you great and love 🎉🎉🎉 congratulations for new beginnings
