The teams current positions in terms of football results,league positions etc,has no bearing on what was said by Brendan or why he said it. Free transfer often come with a massive future headache. If it all works & he turns in performances, great you can either sell for profit or keep. BUT somthing like 60-70% of transfers dont work out . !! Then you are stuck with players on "big wages" ,they always get more wages when no transfer fee is needed.. Add on to that its Scotland & gers not the team they were… It can get out of hand very quickly.. quick fix is not somthing you can keep doing , at some point you gave to look long term. Fans will not like it ( just like Celtic fans didnt like Fergus when he was at the club) but over long term its the only way. Take you medicine, or be a club that wins 1 league title out of every 5-10. Thats the future, your choice
