Very interesting how Titleist players see this big difference between TSR and GT, then independent reviewers like Mark Crossfield or Michael Newton see very little to no difference. Titleist is losing credibility.
I wonder how long it will be before club manufacturers say “ that’s it we can’t make clubs any better under the present rules” we must be pretty close by now 👍.
That's the issue with fitting, needs to evolve with the ever evolving amateur swing. 6 months ago I was fit and was 8 head lofted to 9.5 deg, weight in toe. Went last week to try the gt and ended up keeping my tsr3 but changed to 8 degree lofted down weight in heel 😂 GT was shorter and wider dispersion for me. Fitter was great though, and didn't try and push a sale 👍
Have been waiting for your review of these Andy. I got my GT3 about 2 weeks ago now and it is game changing compared to my TSi3. Love it
I do think the analysis needs to be the heads against each other with the same shaft and dare I say that the heads should be set at the same loft settings as well. I'd like to see the spin numbers and effective loft numbers and carry distances compared against each other. It's possible as a hypothesis that: if you put the same TSR2 head loft and use the same shaft as the GT3 — that we won't observe a material differnece in spin rate/carry distance.
Motto of the video is, if your previous driver is a shit fit, then you're gonna pick up yards.
I’ve seen significant gains since testing the GT3 against my old gamer, so much so I’ve ordered it!
I have a ping g400 that I love. 7 years old at this point. Love the head size and shape, titleist is the only one I’d replace it with. With getting the GT or saving a couple hundred and getting the TSR?
Think the custom fit has made the biggest difference as opposed to the new head. Very interesting though…

It would be interesting if you still had the numbers from when you got fitted for the TSR2 to compare them and see how much your swing has changed during the year in terms of numbers it produces and what changes you might have done to your swing to affect those numbers.
What is your loft and launch numbers? If you got fit for that TSR2, the fitter didn't get you into a remotely appropriate spin number!
Great Video….curious if you put a TSR3 head on that setup to see if there's much of a difference….or even TSi3.
TSR2 with d-2 setting is a 7 degree driver. No wonder the TSR2 is going no where. Then, you compare to a GT with 9*. No wonder the GT goes further. This test is apples to oranges.
You should never have been fit into tsr 2 with those low spin rates. this review is more about the differences in club fitting than equipment.
You have to do head to head on the exact same settings. To be fair, you are comparing 2 different clubs. I'm going to say if you adjust your old , the numbers will be negligible

TSR2 at 7.25* vs GT3 at 9*. TSR2 is way too low loft with that spin. Ball is dropping out of the air even at those ball speeds. Raise it to 8* or 8.75* and your spin will be much better. Distance will be longer as well.
Seen some strange comments attacking Andy’s golf game in here; I went to college with Andy and can tell you from first hand experience he’s a great golfer and down to earth lad. Keep it up cart dog

I game a tsr2 and got fit for the GT. For me the feel and the sound is better and I was gaining 3-5 mph of ball speed and literally every hit.
Why aren't you testing the trs3 vs GT3 ?
Your review is kinda weird . Both have the sure fit sleeves so why not just swap the shafts ? The GT2 is TSR2 replacement not the GT3 .
