Hideki Matsuyama understands English and can speak it. However, in an official interview, he knows that even if he makes a single mistake, the opposite will come out. That is why Shohei Otani, a baseball player, can also speak English, but still uses an interpreter. This is the way for Japanese people to communicate in English most accurately by using an interpreter. Thank you for your understanding.
Thought it was a bush league move for the rules official to break his rhythm and concentration for no apparent reason. They had already determined (according to the telecast broadcast) that no infraction occurred. Shame on you PGA.
