The third edition of the Top of the World Golf Classic will take place at Mustang Golf Club in Lo-Manthang on Saturday, August 17, 2024. This prestigious event will see 24 golfers, including ten non-resident Nepali players, tee off at the world’s highest golf course. Given the high altitude, the competition will be conducted over nine holes in a Stableford format.
Prizes will be awarded in various categories, including Winner, Runner-up, Best Gross, Lady Winner, Closest to the Pin, and Longest Drive. In a unique twist, any player who scores a hole-in-one on the 6th hole will win a horse—a prize unlike any other in the world of golf.
Mustang Golf Course, inaugurated in August 2022, gained international attention when it was featured in Golf Digest, a leading golf publication with 20 million subscribers. Recognized as the world’s highest golf course at 4,650 meters by both Golf Digest and the Golf Channel, the course has quickly become a point of pride. Defending champion Shyam Tamang, along with other participants, is eager to compete in this extraordinary event.
Looking ahead, Mustang Golf Course is poised to be marketed as the highest golf course globally, with all stakeholders collaborating to boost high-end tourism in the region. The third edition of the Top of the World Classic aims to draw international golfers, further enhancing the course’s reputation.
