Outing golf is getting out of hand

I’ve played in outings with some questionably low scores, but this one takes the cake.

32 under….ok. One of those 12ft string outings, ripe for abuse. Still, I’m thinking maybe some guys who played college golf.

Winners are announced, I look over and see the champs…lol. Outing golf at its finest.

No darts from Dart Bank that day

  2. KennyMcCormick

Would love to be a fly on the cart to hear the mental gymnastics of these guys justifying this absolute BS

  3. Mr-BodyMassage

This is why, if I ever hosted an event, top 2 scores have to play sudden death on the 18th, and the rest of the competitors get to decide what to do

I shot a 17 on the front nine of a puttShack and had my chest puffed out at my wife and kids…. Imagine shooting a 19 on a real course with your team! In a tournament! They must be excellent golfers, and very proud of their score.

  5. Wolverine2121

Was that their putting total? That is beyond absurd.

Those car dealer/dealerships that decided to sponsor holes and giveaway cars are boned…

“Sorry boss, I had to giveaway 4 cars today. Janice, in the winning group had two aces and now has two KIA Tellurides.”

The pro at the course I was a member of would always hold the lowest card and not post it. If someone turned in, let’s say a 63, and it was the leader, he would just hold onto it until someone turned in a score of 62 or better… then he’d post the 63. This was to keep teams from looking at the leaderboard, then going back out to the parking lot to write down their scores and win by 1.

Also, I’ve seen some scores in the 40s, it can be done. Short, open course, + handicap players, mulligans, it’s possible. But the lowest I’ve ever seen is a 48. To shoot a score of 40 is downright not believable. Give me Scottie, Rory, DeChambeau and Prime Tiger, and they’re not shooting -32, even with mulligans.

The 12 foot string isn’t 12 feet all day. Cut off from the putt that was the gimmie. Shits so abused now. They need to have 18 volunteers on each team no to keep anything honest

I’ll never pay to play in a scramble anymore unless it’s 2’s. At least with twos there is some accountability with who you are paired with. I don’t trust people and I’m too competitive to just let scores like this slide so I’d rather just avoid the situation altogether.

Just interested in how the handicaps work in these things. Would there be some kind of calculation where three of them could have super high handicaps and the group is getting two shots a hole or something like that?

These events suck. The trick is, pick a team of people you like to hang out with and have fun. If you want to win, you have to cheat.

  12. Bryson can’t even break 50 – only tied it – so, yeah, these ‘athletes’ could easily do it…….

  13. Scrotem_Pole69

I’m guessing the top 5 scores are full of blatant cheating

2 holes in one? I’m guessing the slightest question would cause them to start cracking.

Unfortunately this is how all these outings are. Played in a tournament which was a fundraiser for my college’s scholarship fund. My team shot a 64 (two guys on my team were scratch and we each had 3 mulligans a piece) we came in dead last. The group in front of us won with a 51. They were in the woods searching for their balls all day. We didn’t see one of them hit a fairway all day

Someone should check on the Dart Bank team to make sure they are OK.

  16. Imaginary_Bet_6461

Played a 4 man scramble on Monday. We made bogey on two par 5’s…..

  17. Naavapalli

Gotta love how everyone goes crazy over these charity scrambles where ppl spend money to buy help. Any decent 4 man team with all the gimmicks available will shoot into low 40s

  18. Whiteshovel66

Played in a tournament the other day and the winning score was a 15!!
I thought it was a joke until they handed them the comically large check.

  19. amandashartstein

We shot a 50 recently. It’s stupid. Each person could buy 2 mulligans and two hand grenades. The hand grenades you throw the ball and it doesn’t count as a stroke. We also paid to roll a dice on the toughest hole and got to hit from 100 yards out. It was for charity but still stupid

  20. Reiji806

Imagine turning in that 79 and then looking at the board.

  21. paladine01

I guarantee first place posted a 4 on the final hole to ‘avoid’ posting a 39

  22. Relative-Swim263

Getting beat by Larry David and crew is pretty epic

  23. knotworkin

A lot of charity tournaments allow you to buy strokes for $$$. Because it’s all about how much money they raise.

  24. Double-Passenger4503

Shout out to Dark Bank for keeping it real

  25. TraditionPast4295

Imagine cheating your ass off all day, posting a 48 and taking 3rd.

  26. Yesterdays_Breakfast

How is it that nobody calls them on this?

  27. Jenkir2121

    I see a hole-in-one!! Why aren’t they buying drinks?

  28. TheShoot141

A 48 is just so lame. Bryson and John Daly couldnt do it from the front tees, but sure you can from the back. The cheating in scrambles is astounding. The winners have nothing to do with golf, just who can write a lower number. If its a charity event, I dont see how its hard to have 18 volunteers; 1 on each hole. Scores written in pen.

  29. goonwild18

Well we know that you might be able to trust Dart Bank with your money.

  30. GamerDude133

This has to be a joke? You’re telling us that there’s actually a group of golfers who claimed to shoot -32? 2 hole in 1’s? Really… Heck, even the 46 is questionable to me

  31. imtiredofit7

A 40! lol We all know Dart Bank probably won.

  32. think_matt_think

I’m like a +16 and I’d be willing to bet I would smoke that whole table. Also, insurance people? All they do is lie.

  33. loserkids1789

Was this an outing where you could buy strokes on tee boxes? The amount of hole outs these score cards show have a 0% chance of happening without buying strokes

  34. militaryman1980

OK. Seriously. A 40. They should be kicked out immediately. That’s absolute bullshit.
