At least it’s well raked from the patrons, more than can be said from my locals. Absolutely lazy bastards.

I played a course that just let the grass take over their largest bunker. It’s now a pot bunker with the best grass on the course. The bunker was supposed to help make it a short par 5.

Guess we will call that a sand patch, not a trap?
Dry-Honeydew2371
Y know those bottles of sand that are on the side of the cart? You’re supposed to use them to add to the trap.

So we planted a sand in the ground and in a few years, it grows into a full sized sand trap! What you are looking at is the juvenile stage
flaginorout
I’ve never understood why course even bother keeping a bunker that they can’t/wont maintain?
Just let it grow in. Hell, do the opposite. Fill it in until there is a mound, drop seed, and let the grass get shaggy AF.

Why even bother?

What is this, a bunker for ants?

It’s will eventually grow to become a full size trap.

Pine Valley has many bunkers of this size, but no rakes in sight. Gosh I want to be the guy who sells them the rakes for the thousand plus bunkers on property 😂
FizzS-1andOnly
Thanksgiving point in utah has a fairly deep greenside bunker that they just let grow in that’s suuuuuper hard to git out of cause the grass is juicy.

What is this!? A sand trap for ants!?
Dame2Miami
I… I kind of like it. If it wasn’t short sided, I might prefer to hit out of that than the rough tbh

Would 100% still find myself in it.

And here we witness the birth of the mighty green side bunker. Already bestowed with its rake, it sits idly waiting for unsuspecting orbs to fall into its gaping maw.

Since this hasn’t been said yet, and everyone probably knows Pete Dye, the course designer.
I don’t know that this course is one of his, but this is one of his signatures. Short par 4 to start and a little pot bunker somewhere have been present on every dye course I’ve ever played.

Bro just throw down some grass seed at this point

Hey America you don’t fill a pot bunker to the rim! /s
