Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort Wedding Video // Nehal + Lucas // A Beautiful Blend

Almost everything about this wedding was so unique and so inspiring! Nehal and Lucas were married at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina on an unusually hot day in early spring. We couldn’t have asked for a sweeter couple to work with and their wedding was simply amazing!

Just like the couple, their wedding was one-of-a kind and a beautiful blend of cultures and traditions. Nehal’s Indian culture was honored especially during the traditional Hindu wedding ceremony whereas Western wedding traditions familiar to Lucas’ family were reflected mainly in the reception. They created a seamless fusion, as their wedding celebrated the blending of two people, two families and two cultures.

Nehal had beautiful and intricate henna designs painted onto her hands and arms, a ceremonial tradition adorned for special occasions. She wore two amazing dresses for the day: a bright, colorful traditional Indian dress for the ceremony and an elegant strapless white gown for the reception. Lucas wore two outfits as well, traditional Indian wedding attire for the ceremony and a tuxedo at the reception. We were awe-struck by their exquisite traditional wedding dress! So gorgeous… and so heavy! We couldn’t believe how many pounds their outfits actually weighed!

Their ceremony was a traditional Hindu marriage ceremony including wonderful dancing and music. The ceremony was held outside at the captivating bayside location and began with the traditional “welcoming”. Lucas walked to the Mandap followed by the bridesmaids and Nehal, accompanied by her brother. The ceremony was absolutely delightful. We loved watching the different ceremonies performed as Nehal and Lucas formally became husband and wife.

After formal photos were taken by Maria DeForrest Photography with the beautiful Choptank River as the backdrop, the two changed their outfits. Nehal changed into the quintessential, graceful long white wedding gown while Lucas donned a formal tux for their reception. It was a pleasure to take additional video on the docks and other locations around the resort while Maria DeForrest photographed the events.

Nehal and Lucas also incorporated a tree theme into their wedding day. One terrific use of this theme was in their wedding guests book. They chose a thumbprint “wedding tree” or “tree of life” for their guests to stamp their thumbprints and sign. What a wonderful idea!

Enthusiastic dancing kicked off once again following dinner, with their reception held inside at the Hyatt Regency’s ballroom. Washington Talent Agency’s DJ Lance emceed the event and kept the party alive! But it wasn’t hard to do with this fun-loving crowd!

Nehal and Lucas are a very down-to-earth couple and truly were such a delight to film on their wedding day! We loved their ultra-unique wedding and their wonderful style! Congratulations to a fabulous couple!
