It’s an innocent mistake. He doesn’t actually know what a shank is….

I swear I double hit a wedge off the hosel, the face, and onto the green last week. Weirdest feeling decent wedge I can remember hitting. He probably didn’t do that…but maybe?

Shanked it all the way on to a Wheaties box.

  4. stache_twista

I like that you included that he drilled the 40 ft putt after

  5. At least there’s one shot most of us can hit better (worse) than Scotty! Ha! You’ve got to practice, Scotty!

  6. boojadeen

This amateur obviously doesn’t know his golf terminology… /s

Did this once. Ended up on the green. Looked at my club and I had my 6i instead of 9

Like Tiger used to say. “How good is your bad?”

That is what separates these guys from the rest

  9. I remember growing up when the camera work wasn’t as good, it would be zoomed in on the ball and you’d here “fuck me tiger you SUCK” and then it lands on the fat part of the green lol these guys play a totally different sport than us.

Just like how Scottie have a different definition of having fun at golf.

  11. Looks like he shanked his put 2cm left, too. Close one.

I dunno, I’ve never had a shank land on the green.

  13. flaginorout

I need to talk to Scottie about cleaning up his filthy vocabulary.

Just hold the pose, nobody will know

I’ve heard quite a few people refer to a heel strike as a shank over the years. As for Scottie, we all saw him stone cold top the ball off 18th tee during the final round of The Open championship this year.

    Fuck this guy.

    (I’m a 16 handicap)

It’s a common mishap that even the pros experience.

Scheffler’s Dictionary defines a shank as a shot struck slightly off dead center of club face and slightly off ideal target line, but still pretty much pin high…
