Golf Tips

Any tips for him? He’s a 5 year old kid, learned golf a few months back. He’s so jack about it. He keeps on insisting using a longer club though

First video was from 3 weeks ago
Second one was just last week

I was a little surprised that he can get the ball to 70 yards and rolls up to a 100 sometimes with this form, and most of the time he hits the ball straight.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Literally better than most redditors already. Is he available for a scramble this weekend?

  2. Get that boy some lessons, and just keep making it fun! He’s well on his way with that type of contact

From what I’ve learned doing a few tpi courses.

Let them have. Don’t worry about how they swing or where it goes. At 5 it’s just about fun. Only need to make things more regimented (lessons) as they get older and more into it. Avoid frustrations, if he gets mad about how he’s hitting coach him out of that funk or just stop the session today.

For my daughter I also like to add a treat at the end of a session. So she gets to pick out anything at the front desk. This helps maintain a happy memory and we talk about how many times she made contact and how far she hit that one.

Even though driver is harder to hit well, it’s easier to make contact especially since it’s teed up.

my tip is keep swinging. form can come later.

Maybe some lighter clubs? Look a little heavy for him. He is making it work though. gj.

His swing is better than mine at 49!

Junior clubs. Not only lighter but shorter. You need like 4 (driver, mid iron, wedge, putter)

Great swing – focus on grip, then setup then alignment. He needs to get that fixed asap before working on mechanics.

I feel like I could easily outdrive this kid

    wow—**elite** hand-eye coordination.

best thing you can do for the youngster is get a very solid grip foundation in place. keep it simple, start small. grip impacts everything, and the earlier he can learn to set his hands up by himself the better. the rest of his setup honestly looks good.

he already has so many good things going on here!

He could do some lessons. I mean he could teach me.
