The BEST IRON They Have EVER MADE? | NEW Taylormade P770 2025 Irons

The NEW Taylormade P770 2024/2025 Irons are here, and boy have they done a good job at making possibly their BEST EVER On Balanced Iron. They haven’t reinvented the wheel, as being honest the old P770 was a fan favourite, but Taylormade has taken feedback from the Old and changed the NEW. Refined Feel, Looks and Technology within this Players profile Players Distance design.
I test it at 3 different Swing Speeds, 70mph/80mph and 90mph to see how it performs for all Golfers, and also test its Forgiveness where the Drop Off’s are measured from common miss hit strike locations.

  1. Really nice club face I think the most impressive part is how much ball speed it retains from a low strike. Top 6 of Smash loss per inch on my list and certainly best from low strikes.

  2. Awesome review and club. My 2021 Titleist T100S won’t be leaving my bag until the grooves wear out. These are very similar in design and just 1 deg stronger than these P770’s. If I needed irons these would be in the running.

  3. I know there’s more testing to do, but first impression — how would you say these stack up against other irons that straddle this line between players’ distance and traditional CBs? Like i230, Cobra King Tour, arguably JPX Forged … do any of them stand out as more forgiving, or higher/lower spin, or anything else especially notable?

  4. Jay – aren’t the mizuno 923 forged are built with the changed construction for the 8-AW? After initially gett8 g fit for p790 with MMT 105 shaft, I found that the 923 forged with ns pro 950 were way better with steeper land angle and more distance

  5. Hmm – this may be something that can kick the Mizzy MP-59's out of my bag, which I've grown attached to. i'm going to guess this 770's are more forgiving thin and toe than almost any MP model based on your excellent data capture.

  6. just played my 245's for the second time. 85 first round, and today I shot 83 which is the best I have played in yrs. I got fit for the 1st time ever, and I think that is making a big difference. They are really nice, thank you for your reviews.

  7. I'm not a big TM guy in general. However, as a player that complains there aren't enough iron options for high ss guys looking for some tech without crazy lofts and head size, TM has earned a look from me with the P770. Curious to see how the CB performs. 🎉

  8. These look great. The prior years P770 irons seemed a bit thick behind the ball and just didn't feel great to me. I'm playing Mizuno Pro 223 irons these days. From your review of the 243 it looks like they are quite comparable. The 243 had about 5 yards more carry than the 770 but you had about a degree steeper angle of attack with the 243 so seems that distance is pretty much the same. Both seem to be just about equally forgiving on mishits. A head-to-head between the 243 and the new P770 would be interesting. Not sure I'd be willing to give up the way the 223 irons feel though unless I got a significantly better consistency. Looking forward to the 7CB review you have for this week.

  9. Great review. I saw these Aug 1st along with the cb’s.
I’ve been waiting for something like this in players irons. 4-7 in 770’s and 8-pw in cb’s will be fit soon.
Praying the 4-6 irons have low offset.
