To kick things off I am going to take you through a full run down and review all of the components I used for this Home Golf Simulator Setup & Build including the turf, mat, projector, golf simulator enclosure, etc. and then show you a time-lapse of how this was a true DIY Golf Simulator Build as I completed this all on my own in just over an hour. After the time-lapse I will take several demonstration shots using the Flightscope Mevo+ and even Driver with Foresight Sports GCQUAD Golf Launch Monitor and new FSX Play Golf Simulator Software. To wrap things up we will watch a 4K movie clip using the BenQ LK953ST and Carl’s 16:9 Golf Simulator Enclosure. I hope you enjoy this video as much as I did making it!

About the Flightscope Mevo+ for Home Golf Simulator Setups

The Flightscope Mevo+ launch monitor is a radar based device that can work both indoor and outdoor for golf data and golf simulator use. Mevo+ provides Carry Distance, Club Head Speed, Smash Factor, Apex Height, Flight Time, Ball Speed, Vertical Launch Angle, Horizontal Launch Angle, Lateral Landing, Angle of Attack, Total Distance, Roll Distance, Spin Axis, Spin Rate and Spin Loft.

About the GCQUAD
The Foresight Sports GCQuad is a portable golf launch monitor that is high-speed camera and infrared based. The Quadrascopic technology takes detailed pictures of the ball and club still while still allowing the the unit to be placed almost two feet across from the ball on the ground. This advanced camera technology allows the Foresight GCQuad to be a simple setup in most environments from outdoor driving ranges to smaller indoor simulator rooms.

If you are looking to do your own home golf simulator build you should start with looking at the size of space you are working with. Optimal dimensions for a home golf simulator are 15′ wide by 10′ tall and 20ft long. These can be adjusted depending on the final setup but this size golf simulator allows for right and left handed players from the center, a comfortable height, and length to accommodate radar or camera based golf launch monitors. If you are looking to use a Carl’s DIY Golf Simulator Enclosure you need to be sure you have around 2′ of space behind the screen for a buffer of movement as well. Doing your own DIY Home Golf Simulator Build can be easier than you think, just plan ahead and be sure you gather all components before starting. 1. If you are looking to build your own home Golf Simulator and need any Hardware or Software be sure to email me at: a98cr125@gmail.com
You can also check out the links in the description! Thanks for watching!

  2. How much buffer would you say you need between the screen and the back wall. And how far is your hitting mat from your screen?? Thanks for any input!

  3. Currently rewatching this video on the 16:9 screen I just assembled as I test out bounceback. Thanks for giving me the urge/inspiration to start a build in my garage.

  4. I'm planning on installing one in my garage but it will need to be portable so I can get to my work bench or if it's in front of garage door I need to park my car there

  5. Thanks for the video Jay… how do you find the height at 7.7ft? Any issues at all? I know you said the GSV studio is 16:10. Which aspect ratio do you prefer?

  6. Can you confirm if this is the DIY version starting at 900 or the pro version. Furthermore is the 4ft depth standard

  7. I just purchased one but am running into a small space issue. With this screen how close would you feel comortable coming to the rear wall of the garage? I need every inch! Thanks

  8. Hi! Im building the same dimensions. How’s the full 60-65 degree wedge shot on the 7’7” height? How near do you need to hit from the screen? Hoping for your comment on this. Thanks

  9. @golf simulator videos Do you know how much they charged you for shipping the pipes? They want to charge me $930! I would love to have the pipes but that is insanely expensive.

  10. I keep going back and forth between the 12 x 9 (4:3) and 13 x 7'7" (16:9). It will mainly be used for golf sim but may be used for movies occasionally. Do you lose resolution with a 4:3 setup for the golf sim?

  11. I added Bay Meadows golf course to my free subscription to e6, but I get the (not ready) at the tee box, what do I need to do so I can play?

  12. DIY lol! You mean like IKEA? Doing it yourself means that you do it yourself this is akin to putting together an entertainment center your wife bought at a furniture store

  13. I really like the content of your video because I am going to build me a golf enclosure for my simulator. I am a teacher by profession and one of the things I have a problem with is listening to someone speak publicly and then use a lot of "crutch" words. You have a very wide vocabulary and you speak English very well. Would be 100 x better if you can drop, the. Ahhhh word everytime you start a sentence or pause. You had about a 15 minute clip and I could have marked you down for at least 100 x where you said. "Ahhh". Please watch your video and you will notice what I'm referring to. Guarantee if you drop that crutch, you will be so much more effective! Not hating Bro, just an observation. 😊

  14. I have a 10' H x 15' W space, for a 16:10 ratio, do you recommend keeping the enclosed height of structure at 114" tall and 6 " below the recommended ceiling? And for width, 175" enclosed structure providing a 5" buffer from the 180" wall space. Also, would 12"-18" work behind the screen to wall?

  15. Great vid! Do you find with a span of emt that long that it sags a bit in the middle? If so, any thoughts on how to remedy that?

  16. Do you have it setup so that you can move the gc3 over for lefty's? My buddy is a lefty so I'm trying to figure out how to do it with my gc3. And is that the carls 4×9 hitting mat?

  17. Do you wish it was taller? Is 8.808 Ft wide by 13.533 Ft the largest enclosure height they make to keep a nice fitted look on a 16:10 ratio? If I change the ratio on Carl's site's form to "Custom" then it lets me go from 94" wide to 112" but does that just mean I'd have ~25% of my horizontal screen space empty assuming the projector is on 16:9 and can't do 16:10?

  18. Has anyone tested it vs the play better golf enclosure? I’m about 2 days from getting a sim. It’s a toss up between the full swing uneekor I had thought about mevo with all the upgrades. Just not sure.
