  1. This course reminds me of the Cabot Cliffs in Nova Scotia Canada 🇨🇦 Bulgaria 🇧🇬 is now on my bucket list and this episode is also my favourite now. Not just because of the amazing course but because of how much it clearly means to those people. Thanks Skratch and EAL

  2. The only thing I know about Bulgaria is the exchange student that lived with us for a few months when I was like 7. She put ketchup on everything. everything.

Other than that, I knew absolutely nothing about Bulgaria, and I have a bachelors degree. This video taught me more about Bulgaria than college and high school combined. lol.

  3. It was only a matter of time before you found my favorite place.
Bulgaria 🥰 Nature not the state
Bulgaria as an administrative center is a terrible place.
Nature, however, is part of the earthly paradise.
We Bulgarians do not deserve this earthly paradise because we do not protect and manage it well.

  4. I'm very lucky, I have an apartment on this resort. I have played the course over a hundred times, and I'm still taking photos. The other two courses nearby give great variety for golf tours, and there's also two wonderful beaches on this resort for families. I spoke to many of the professionals during the 2013 Volvo Matchplay and they were all blown away by it. And Gary Player says it's the most beautiful golf course he's designed or seen. So, okay, we're both biased but I'm so glad you've shown the independent view and share our love of this course. It was also great that you took the time to also refelct on Bulgaria and it's culture. Having visited many times I can tell you that they share all our aspirations to improve their economy and family lives and I'm glad to call many my friends.

  5. Great report. If you do get back to Bulgaria please do a video on the mountain courses — Pirin, Pravets, St Sofia, and I believe there's a Nicklaus course but don't know if it's open to the public.

  6. Learn from history. Socialism destroys lives, and it only benefits the elites. America, you have it good now, but your country is rotting from the core. Don't let the current government destroy your beautiful country. Great episode.

  7. What a beautiful place. It’s wonderful as well to see the optimism expressed, and the encouragement extended. Certainly makes me feel happy. Thanks for sharing!

  8. I have my wedding booked at this resort. I cannot wait to play a round with all my best friends in the days before the wedding! Great video!

  9. I have played this course and it incredible, almost beyond description, worth a trip to Bulgaria alone, but be warned, the high handicappers in our party struggled massively. The adjacent course is good, the Lighthouse course a mile away or so is far more forgiving…

  10. This brought a deeper respect for golf and the human spirit. The intricacies of an economically fledgling nation being intertwined with an age old game, and epic course are going to be a recipe for amazing stories to come! Thanks Erik. 🙏🏌⛳

  11. Better than pretty much every other golf influencer doing 23 man hopscotch, mini-knockout, youtube "open" whatever-the-f*ck content. Well done sir. Please don't stop. I just keep adding the destinations you spotlight to my bucket list (both course & country).

  12. These are my favorite videos on YouTube. Hands down.
Golf at beautiful and crazy places, you get history and meet the people and it’s perfect

  13. Very nice episode. I live part-time in Varna, which is 50 km from the golf courses at the Black Sea. I am a member at Lighthouse Golf, and I organize golf trips to Bulgaria. Not all the information in the video is 100% accurate. At the moment, there are 6 courses in Bulgaria, and the 7th is currently under construction. Additionally, the Euro will not be introduced in January 2024; although there were plans, they have been postponed. These are small details that don't take away from the excellent production quality of your video. Congratulations! I will definitely embed this video on my Golf in Bulgaria website about our golf trips. Thank you.

  14. Let me tell you about the place and the surroundings a little bit more. This terrace where is the golf course is the first level of cliffs, above it there is a second lavel with higher cliffs and on the top of it, there are stunning restaurants, bars, swimming pools with an amazing view over the gold course. Its a part of a complex with houses and hotels called Kaliakria. It's like a resort. There is also a small peninsula little bit south of the golf course with a resort called White Laguna. Also there is miles of similar cliff going south to the next city called Balchik. It's a small resort city with very beautiful beach alley with French Riviera atmosphere. So the whole area is worth visiting 100%.

  15. Eric my oldest son married a wonderful girl who migrated to the US from communist Bulgaria with her grandparents . Her grandfather was a MD in Bulgaria and told me horror stories from his life under communist rule . I am proud to say my daughter-in- law has now graduated from USC medical school and has followed her grandfather's profession . The stories I heard would make us all appreciate our freedoms so much more . Great video .

  16. Why have I just seen this gem of a video? New subscriber here and this is golden! I love your perspective of golf and its relation to people and culture.

  17. Whenever i think i'm getting better at golf, i play this course (2-3 times a year), lose a buttload of balls, and get put back in my place. Still, one of the most stunning courses i've seen
