Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.
If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

Incredibly overpriced. Kirkland really shined a spotlight on these golf companies overcharging for their products. It doesn't look good for them!
Club prices and overall golf equipment is getting ridiculous! How can the consumer fight back?
I'll stick with tokomo, I get 2 wedges for every one opus, and I'm not good enough to know different.
Hate the name and the look. Jaws was SUCH a good name for a wedge line. Just like "Sub-Zero" was a WAY better name for low spin drivers than "triple diamond". Callaway's marketing needs a reshuffle IMO..
This is where I think golf gets stupid. If you spend $500 and all your driving range time on a driver that you use to send drives into the woods that is totally fine. Spend any money around and on the green everyone cries about prices and looks. That's right golf community, skimp on where you can gain shots but blow all your money on the part that doesn't help your game. Ridiculous.
What's the swing weight of that Platinum?
Don't need to watch the video – they're overpriced. It's a wedge. I'm sure it's good, but you could get something similar for a fraction of the price.
Rick Those look so cool. I wish I could have one.😂😂
Golf is a disgrace.
Kirkland wedges vs the Opus wedges?
Rick looking like Trump he's so orange 🍊 lol
I'm glad you try them out so that I don't have to buy them. Thank you!
guys thanks fowatching stay tune… lotsmotschukum
Based on the title im going to assume his view is "overpriced". He picks a talking point and sticks to it through every video. Rarely does he enter a test and not have some preconceived idea of what he wants to say about the clubs.
Here's an alternative – for the price of two wedges you can buy Dan Grieve's book, enroll in Dan Grieve's online class, and find a local pro for two private lessons. Go learn technique with whatever hardware you currently have in your bag.
Get a secondhand Vokey or new Wilson forged
If you think that's overpriced, wait until you see the new TItleist GT line of woods! Woof!
Wait until you see the new Apex iFusion irons 💰💰💰
$180? Don’t forget what country you are from and live in Rick! £££
I'm getting tired of seeing club reviewers hit perfect shots on the sim. How often is rick within 15ft from 120yds out during his break 75 series? Same goes with all iron reviews.
That’s just a nope. For the clubs in your bag that you replace the most frequently, that’s just a joke. There’s arguably less craftsmanship in a wedge than there is in a players iron, and only the top irons get into that range per club, and those don’t wear out in a year. Hard no, they’re taking advantage of people.
I ordered a custom LAB DF3 after your review but I beautified it by painting it pink with a white shaft and grip
Why did I get a happy holidays pga superstore ad
Platinum selling at £179 so not far off a Vokey or Ping S159, exspensive yes but not as outrageous as being made out
Well let’s be honest, most play some kind of cavity backed iron and the wedges should be cavity backed as well!
Great review. Would really love for you to do a comparison between a wedge with full-face grooves vs traditional-length grooves.
Completely ridiculous price's
Figure I'll have to wait to get some second hand. I've always done well with Callaway wedges
The jump in price has to come mainly from the shaft
I mean, $50 more for a graphite shafted wedge kinda makes sense. It's definitely not something I would be looking to buy, but for the right customer, sure.
When you test clubs in studio, are you able to hit shots on real golf holes instead of the generic range?
Jaws were crap, assuming these are too. Sticking to Cleveland foevaaaa
$230 for one wedge. Are you kidding me ??
I got Lazrus wedges, $160 for 3 of them.
You’re British…. Price in sterling first, not dollars
Nice hat. Just played Sandy Hills and St Patricks this week
Without even watching, it's incredibly overpriced. Golf is way too expensive in general.
Not sure what that shirt is. I like the color but yikes haha!
All golf clubs are incredibly overpriced…and Rick’s visits to all the tour trucks at the Open showed exactly why
