RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Wednesday that the men’s golf team will have four tournaments this fall season starting September 15 at the JT Poston Invitational, hosted by the Western Carolina, at Waynesville Country Club.
“I think it’s good. We got a good mix going to North Carolina, staying in Houston, going up to DFW, and going to Mexico,” UTRGV head coach Houston Moore said. “We just want to get these guys as adaptable as possible and get them ready to go. Each place is different. You need to prepare when you get to each place and that’s what is important.”
After JT Poston Invitational, the Vaqueros will tee it up at the Bayou City Invitational, which is hosted by Rice, from Sept. 30-Oct. 1 at Westwood Country Club in Houston.
UTRGV will then head to Dallas to compete at the Trinity Forest Invitational, hosted by SMU, from Oct. 6-8 at Trinity Forest Golf Club.
The Vaqueros will close out their fall schedule at the Monterrey Collegiate Classic that will be hosted by George Washington at Club Campestre in Monterrey, Mexico from Oct. 25-26.
The spring schedule will be announced at a later date.
