  1. It is an absolute joke that the Eagles and Dockers don't get anywhere near as many home games as the Victorian clubs. No one can use the "most of the teams are Victorian" excuse because the fixtures are manipulated each year to suit the AFL's desires: ie. blockbusters for big crowds. This means that the fixtures could certainly be manipulated to help the WA teams deal with the travel load; without the WA teams (especially West Coast), the AFL has a lot less money to prop up the struggling eastern states clubs. It most certainly is a political bias towards Victorian clubs.

    There are two options here:
    a) Give the WA clubs enough home games to reach parity with clubs like Collingwood (the Eagles get big crowds even when we're shit, so money isn't a problem)
    or
    b) (my preference) Everyone plays each other twice.
I'm with you, Barra. I'M AS MAD AS HELL AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANY LONGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Look if they can invent helmets that prevent concussion and don't make you look like your facing Mitchell Starc at 150km per hour I'm all for it. I want to protect our kids and current players, who still love that football is getting in there hard.

  3. They should start the season with group stages, WA-SA-2xVIC (6 teams), VIC (6 teams), NSW-QLD-2xVIC (6 teams). Everyone plays each other within their group twice with the two highest ranked teams from each group playing in the AFL first division, middle two sides play in second division and bottom 2 sides play division 3. During the regular season teams from each division play each team within their division both home and away. The top 4 teams from division 1 qualify for finals, top 3 from division 2 and the top team from division 3 round out the 8 finals' teams. What do people think?

  4. Fremantle sent to Tasmania to play Hawthorn, they got beaten and the episode with the plane's plumbing system, that's literally taking the piss out of the whole situation.

  5. Nailed it Barra. Old mate saying it’s because of money. You literally just explained how it’s not about money because WC and Freo would have same average crowd size. So it’s not about money

  6. I jumped out of my seat, went outside and screamed at the top of my voice but got some funny looks from the neighbours. It’s only 730am lol. Have to agree Barra. Will never change

  7. Problem would be helped if Eagles and Dockers didn't have to travel to Gatherround. Instead have a Western Derby on that weekend. Then every year Eagles or Dockers pay for North to hold a home match hear. So for 23 rounds, each team would have 12 home matches plus an away game in Western Derby..
