FAKE Taylormade P790 from TEMU | INCREDIBLE RESULTS

FAKE Chinese Golf Clubs used to be TERRIBLE, Poor PERFORMANCE, Poor QUALITY and even worse DURABILITY. Now with the increasing amount of Direct To Consumer brands getting Golf Clubs made in China under cutting the BIG BRANDS, are modern day Chinese knock off FAKES any better.

I have bought out of my own money a set of Taylormade P790 clones from TEMU and I put them up against a REAL Taylormade P790 to test its PERFORMANCE, FORGIVENESS and CONSISTENCY.

Have I WASTED my Money ???

  1. COMMENT Below guys, I'll answer as many as I possibly can. Don't FORGET to LIKE the Video also, it helps the channel out 👍

  2. Who would have predicted that?😂 The copiers are getting very good at what they do. Food for thought (not rhat i need a set of irons!)

  3. Hi GolfNut.
Can you post the Link to the fake P790 irons on this vid please, as I cannot find the irons on the Temu site..Maybe cause I live in Oz ? ? Cheers..

  4. Guy who does my clubs loves these prices. He fits ppl into a lot of swing science clubs and other component part companies and he’s busier than he’s ever been. Not quite this cheap but there is customer service when things go wrong. Great video, jay!

  5. Good review. I do business with companies in china and I have some knowledge when it comes to products like this.
Many companies produce many items in China for obvious reasons…mainly cost of manufacturing.
However that does come at a price, there are little to no copyright protections in china, so when you turn over your design, specs, etc they are not protected.
Items like your P790 irons are most likely the product of what is called a “ghost shift”. Let’s say the TM factory that produces the P790 irons is open from 8am-5pm (don’t quote me on that lol). When the day is done and the factory “closes” the ghost shift begins. This is where workers come in and make the irons you have in your hands using their own materials, paint, components etc. but using the TM molds. Often times these materials are less expensive and subsequently lower in quality. That is one issue. The other issue comes in quality control. Making sure that lofts, lies, swing weight, etc are all within manufacturer tolerances are not done thereby saving labor costs. The price is very tempting (for reasons stated) but you are definitely not getting the same quality of materials or quality control measures you get when buying a set from TM. That being said if you are a beginner and come across a set of knock offs that you like then it may be worth it. I will say there is more variability in quality when it comes to woods over irons. That may be worth a test as well. Keep up the good work 🏌🏻‍♂️.

  6. I'm with a few other comments here, if you've gone to the trouble of buying them, this really could have done with length, loft, lie and swingweight measurement comparisons. Either way, i think these irons along with the Kirkland's , Eleven driver etc show just how much we're being ripped off. A massive part of equipment cost is now covering marketing and player endorsements.

  7. I'm just as shocked as you. But on the other hand, when I first started in golf I bought some custom made counterfeit Ping Eye 2 irons, and they were every bit as good as the Pings.

  8. I bought grips on temu and will definitely buy them again. They were golf pride z grip align's and they were about 8$ cheaper per grip and they are exactly the same and are not wearing down at all.

  9. I received my set of yamahero p790 blacks after sbout 5 weeks of shipping for $253. I played them 2 full rounds and very impressed. Only comparison i have is callaway epic forged and rpic fast. The 790 are 1 club shorter due to the 4* loft difference. I really like that they are more consistent, i get a few flyers with the callaways. The black Finnish is holding up really well too. Grips are better than taylormade or callaway original grips. Only con is the slow shipping.

  10. These heads and the Taylormade heads are probably made in the same factory. Usually all the components of a golf club are made in China, then shipped to the USA for assembly. Good luck on getting a copyright injunction, China plays by different rules. Most of the time companies aren’t bothered as their products are being made so cheaply.

  11. Not everyone can afford or want to or care about buying and getting fitted for a set of TM or Titleist, there is def a demand for these so called "fake" clubs.

  12. Do not all clubs have to be reviewed by the R&A and declared conforming ? If so then you can’t use these in competition

  13. This may or may not bother you, but it is worth adding to the cons that they are a blatantly illegal product will be using slave labour (or near as damn it) to make the product. I'm not telling anyone not to buy them, especially since I think they help to demonstrate how much of a rip off clubs from main manufacturers are. But worth mentioning at least.

  14. They're built in the same factory.
I buy Mulberry bags in Thailand, next to the factory that used to make them.
Same craftsmen, same materials, same technology.

  15. Ali Express sells P770's for around $250 (w/shipping)…it has the same TM logo on the heads.

  16. Those little iron covers are actually pretty nice. With the see through slot, you don’t have to make sure you use the right cover for the right iron. I’m not one who uses them, but if they were magnetic rather than velcro, I might consider it.

  17. My theory is that the "fakes" are made at the same place as the "originals" but hey have blemishes, like the port missing on the lower clubs, and get thrown away in the process. Then some geeser working at the plant takes the "trash" home, put a shaft and a grip on it and sells it online. This can explaine the long shipping time. The faulty irons are rare because the production line is at a high level of quality so it takes time to collect a full set of "fakes". Thus I think these are disregarded original TM 790's, maybe even collectable.

  18. I saw those and always was wondering because they look good. They would be a good brand new club option for my dad who's getting older and could careless about it

  19. I have a set of these, after 2 range sessions most of the faces started to dent inward. For obvious reasons I no longer use them. If you have a fast swing speed or are making good contact with the ball they will eventually dent inward, hence the price.

  20. TM probably spent several million dollars on engineering and testing this design. They pay pros big money to try them out and have decades of experience. If we buy these pirate copies we will see engineering decline in the US and there will be no more improvements as the big companies fail to survive. Taxpayers subsidize the cheap shipping from China as part of an old mail treaty which should be renegotiated. I can buy a hairbrush shipped from China cheaper than at the corner store thanks to these obsolete shipping treaties that were meant to be used for paper letters and documents.

  21. Just goes to show how OEMs are ripping our eyes out.
Not saying I’d use these knock offs, but impressed with the closeness 🎉

  22. Would you be able to just re shaft these? Seemed like the only complaint about quality you had. Maybe a video idea.

  23. so Taylormade is basically sueing Costco for their irons that look like Taylormade's ,,, wonder what Taylormade is going to do about these ? LOL 🙂

  24. Great video. Would love to see you do a head to head with the fake P790 vs the kirklands. 👍
