  1. I don't understand all the retirement talk about Tiger. Since when do golfers retire? They all play until they need a walker. We are the problem when it comes to Tiger. Because of his past heroics we all have high expectations and want to see the Tiger magic every time he swing the club. But we lose sight of the fact that the guy is just showing up at these Majors without any tournament reps. And at the same time, we rarely acknowledge that despite the lack of prep, he's still outplaying a lot of guys that are playing every week. He barely missed the cut at the US Open and Scottie made it on the number.

I watch every shot when Tiger plays but I suspect most of you guys don't. But I can tell you that he's hitting the ball off the tee better than he has in his whole career. If he had been driving the ball this well, he would have 125 wins because most of his 2nd and 3rd places would be wins. But his approaches are not as tight, and the short game isn't as crisp as it needs to be. But what's really holding him back is a cold putter. He's just missing too many makable putts.

But as long as he's healthy, what would be the point of retiring? The Tour just gave him a special exemption into all the designated events, so the powers that be certainly don't want him to retire. And I'm sure the Champions Tour is looking forward to going to new heights when he decides to join his buddies Freddy, Omera, and Notah.

But my biggest issue with Tiger is that he doesn't look like he's having any fun. He needs to smile more and acknowledge the crowd and just enjoy the moment. He's bringing the old game face but he's not bringing old game. I also think he should put his son on the bag the way Jack did later in his career. He and Charlie play very well together because they're both very competitive and push each other. Charlie won't let him quit after a bad round and I think the two of them together would lift his game back into a more competitive state.
