Xander was at -3 for a very long time. He showed great patience with the course. He didn't try to force anything especially when the weather got ugly. This was a very impressive win. Short game caught fire 🔥 Congratulations!

This tournament emphasised just what a great, tough golf course and game it should be at this level and how good Xander was to win it. An absolute challenge for the best in the world and the competitive, low scores demonstrated this. So much more unpredictable and exciting than the super-manicured courses. Loved it!

For some reason, the Open is the one major that is brutal for me to sit thru the entire coverage, so I appreciate the highlights.

The horrendous weather on Saturday afternoon should have led to the suspension of play. Lowry was leading and playing exceptionally well, but the atrocious weather made the playing of golf virtually impossible. It seems to me that the authorities were at fault to have allowed play to have continued during the afternoon. Under the appalling conditions, the scores inevitably were seriously affected. The rules when to suspend play have to be reviewed as Lowry was robbed of victory during that notorious Saturday afternoon. I also think I would eliminate Troon as a venue for the Open. The configuration of the course makes it too brutal for quality golf.

I imagine it's the same for others in my position in which we have to rely on YouTube to catch up on golf, no matter where their playing "Posting the name of the winner in the video title sucks!". Please stop doing so.
