  1. I’ve been interested in these. I have a set of the Cobra Snake Bite X currently and I’m fairly impressed to be honest. May make these my next set though!

  2. First!! Just like Cleveland for me. Zipcore rtx 6's are wonderfull. Oh, and I still bag my cleveland smarstole chipper. I know I can use an iron BLAH BLAH BLAH, but I would rather take my hybrid, break it, chuck it in the lake rather than pull it out of the bag… for now.

  3. Good explanation of the different wedge options. Curious on your thoughts on which wedges (quantity and lofts) players at different skill levels should have in their bags. I understand the importance of gapping but wondering if some players are better off with a single wedge after their gap wedge vs two. Personally I like stopping at sand wedge (56) and do better around the green if I don't fool around with anything with more loft than my 50 degree gap wedge unless I have go over something.

  4. Always appreciate your informative and objective reviews. Have several CBX4 and CBX Full-face arriving this week along with the Srixon ZX4/5 irons.

  5. Back in 2016, chipping use to cost me 3-4 shots a round easily then i acquired the original C and S smart sole Wedges from Cleveland they took all the stress out of the short game for me. Thinking about missing the green on approach and having to chip would effect those shots as well, my approach game got better just due to not worrying about potential chips.

  6. Great to get other than just the players models introduced as viable options.
I am toe biased with my wedges, so when I swapped my Callaway MD5 to Mizuno S23, the toe help has made a clear difference on my mishits.
Just to say, why not let your wedge choice match what you are playing with the rest of the set. If you are a blade player, then 'blade' wedges, if a cavity back player in the irons, consider going with the more helpful versions…?

  7. Yup…. another Cleveland fan.
I've got the old game improvement 588 doobries (sorry if im too technical for you)
And last year i treated myself to a 60 degree lob wedge off Golfclubs4cash.
    £33 ….it was a bargain.
    And I still haven't used it ….😳
    But great clubs 😁👌

  8. I have played golf for 15 years and have always used the Cleveland wedges. CG12-> CG15 and now RTX4's. Always thought that they are as good as a Vokey or even better

  9. Cleveland clubs are so criminally underrated. Since I noticed a drop in distance lately (nearing my 60th birthday next year), I was very close to buying new "players distance irons", but then I remembered the set of Cleveland 588tt, which sat in my basement. I only had them as my "travel set", because they were cheap at the time and I had not used them for almost a decade. I put them in my bag recently and I am very happy, because my GIR have skyrocketed since. Due to the lower loft of the PW, and because my wedges were about 8 years old as well, I also switched from the 52/58 set-up to 50/54/58 and after testing got Cleveland wedges. 50° RTX6 mid bounce as a GW, 54° RTX Fullface2 mid bounce as a SW and RTX6 tour rack in 58° with low bounce as a LW and SW for compact sand. I opted for these, because my short game is pretty good. However, at the moment I am thinking about putting the 588tt "DW" (49°) in the bag as my gap wedge. The gaps might be better that way, and it is more forgiving and a cheat code for long bunker shots.
BTW, if you can get your hands on a set, a comparison betweeen these first "players distance irons" (which Cleveand obvioulsy invented 12 years ago) and modern irons of the same ilk ("Is there any improvement?") could be a good topic for a video.

  10. I was fitted with a P790 compared to my current speed blades at club champion with a recoil dart 90 stiff. But it doesn’t make sense. I have a ball speed of 107 wit my 6i and the new club only has 3800 spin compare to my gamer at 4500 and peak height is on,y 62 vs 70 on my gamer. I’m driving the ball 10 yards longer but…I wonder if it’s shaft or club head

  11. Great lesson and I fully agree. Cleveland is very passionate, skilled and thorough about providing chipping solutions for golfers. My only tip would be to keep your old wedges if you're buying a new set with different specs. Sometimes the weather or course may require a change of wedges.

  12. I enjoy another Cleveland "chipper" up to 5-10 yds off of the green if the surface isn't overly rough; the HyWood, used with a putting stroke. Have to grip down a ways, of course, using a putting stroke. The face is quite forgiving, except maybe on those days when you just seem to lack any sort of feel for the ball.

  13. I am using a Cleveland rtx since years. 60 degrees. Just a perfect masterpiece even out of Bunkers. There is nothing better for me.

  14. Cleveland is great for the short game. I have the smart sole chipper which is brilliant for chip & run shots (it's almost incapable of digging) and the huge 60 CBX2 full face frying pan to get out of high rough/heather trouble. There'll always be one groove somewhere on that massive but slightly insensitive face that'll make contact with the ball. It wipes out any flora that's in the way, at least it leaves that impression at address 😀
In between I have a "nearly no bounce" S23 58 degree for bunker and tight lie lobs, and a S23 54 degree as the club for every normal chip and pitch shot. The Mizuno's just have such a wonderful feel. PS: I also confess having a wedge fetish.
