  1. When it is Erik Ten Hag, you guys never remember or talk about imbalance referring to Luke Shaw, when it’s Southgate, you make excuses of imbalance caused by only Luke Shaws absence. ETH complained about injuries and imbalance but the whole media wanted him out.

  2. The most frustrating thing is, most of us can see the changes needed that will instantly make us 20% better. Get Trent out of that midfield for Wharton, a player that can help control a game and plays positive forward passes. Bench Kane, who is clearly nowhere near 100% fit, for Watkins or Toney, depending on what you want from your striker. Play Foden as a 10, and bring in Gordon on the left so we have pace on both flanks. He's also superb at pressing, as is Watkins. Bellingham is absolutely shattered, probably as much mentally as physically, and needs to be rested. If Foden also isn't producing in the 10 role for England then you have Cole Palmer to bring on. It's ridiculous that talents such as Palmer, Gordon and Wharton haven't kicked a ball yet and Mainoo has had 5 minutes.

  3. It’s got nothing to do with the team. It’s the manager. He hasn’t got a clue. Do you think the manager says close the players down? Get onto them don’t give them no time on the ball. Give them no space and then the players think I know I just walked round the pitch, you used to be a footballer whenever did you see Manager? Give instructions like that and the players just walk round the pitch come on Gary you know the man hasn’t got a clue what he’s doing. It’s not the players. It’s the manager. He has never won anything as a manager or as a player, when you pick second rated managers, you get a second rated team nothing to do with the players just Manager and you of all people know that stop sitting on the fence tell it as it is get rid of Southgate that’s the only hope England has

  4. I dont see what tactical principles Southgate tries to get his team playing? There's no consistent thread, its a halfway house wherever you look

  5. Drop Foden. he is trying to play over complicated football. look at Spain, they play well and simple as well. run wide and center the ball. There was only one barcelona and one Messi.

  6. In view of left side crisis, should review the formation in this competition. Perhaps can start with a back three of Walker, Stones, Guerhi.
Trent or Trippier can play right wing back to support Saka at right wing.
On the left side, just have either Gordon or Bowen as left winger.
Midfield three of Rice, Bellingham or Gallagher (as deeper duo), with either Foden or Palmer to be central playmaker 10.
As for centre forward, depending on opposition or rotation within games, either Kane, Watkins or Toney plays.

  7. How on earth can Shaw be match fit….appalling selection error…..Tyrick Mitchell from CPFC was the answer….too late now of course but Southgate has ballsed this up nicely

  8. SINCE THE WORLD CUP 1986 I’VE NEVER SEEN A MANAGER THAT PLAY 3 RIGHTS BACKS IN THEIR STARTING 11
HE DIDNT EVEN TAKE 1 FULLY FIT LEFT BACK
    HOW ????
LUKE SHAW SHOULD NOT BE NOWHERE NEAR THE SQUAD
    HE’S NOT FIT SIMPLE
PLAY YOUR BEST PLAYERS IN THEIR BEST POSITIONS
CHANGE IT IF IS NOT WORKING TILL YOU GET THE BALANCE RIGHT

  9. “Southgate isn’t bothered if you play for a smaller team” short memory for when he left out grealish and said he needs a bigger move to get into the England squad.

  10. Southgate needs to change it up otherwise we can forget it. Give Palmer and Gordon a run out and Drop Kane to the bench for Watkins

  11. Mainstream media is useless!!!

You don’t have to upset anyone, just play them in the positions they play at their clubs…..

Goodness take a look at the heat maps, super simple, Jude left alongside Declan, Jude has a massive left side bias, Phil on the centre right he has a right side bias. Both have to do their defensive work. Gordon on the LW for pace and natural width.

    This is SOOOOO simple!!!

  12. Weve fluked the last few tournaments lets be honest, the only tests ( Croatia and Italy) we got beaten by !! Southgate should never have had the job

  13. England would be top 8 teams if they can pass the ball into the penalty area. Phil Foden shot long. He would be hero if he luckily scored. Unfortunately, it basically missed valuable opportunities like many mediocre teams tend to shoot whenever they got open. They can't go far when shoot at low probability.

  14. He said Southgate picks on form. Yet he picked maguire for last few years playing like crap. He's playing a rb in cm. A 10 on the wing. A rb at lb. How about playing people where they play for club.

  15. Might get abit of stick for this “oh cos you’re a united fan!” Maguire ran out with the ball 5/10 times a game. The back four (maybe other than Walker) barely leave the halfway line in possession. It’s like we’re missing a centre mid in possession cos of maguire not playing. John stones has been unbelievable for city playing that new pep position really. Mainoo for Trent or Bellingham deeper foden 10, Gordon on left. Rashford grealish left out now looks horrific! Atleast bring one of them!!! 🤦‍♂️good watching England isn’t it?! 🤣

  16. He messed up by not taking chilwell for one! He knew shaw isn't fit so why not take a natural left footed left back? I haven't seen trippier overlap once not once, you need a full back to give that option Southgate very lucky to have England job, he would be useless in club management

  17. This is the team we must play:
    Watkins(ST) Kane(ST)
    Foden(CAM)
    Rice(CM) Bellingham(CM)
    Trippier(LWB) Guehi(CB) Stones(CB) Walker(CB) Trent(RWB)
    Pickford(GK)

We need to play to our strengths which is having many highly technical players on the ball (like man city), we are not blessed with having elite players with blistering pace. Trips can play as a more conventional left back and stones move forward into midfield. Trent can bomb forward and have a free role. In posession, back 3 of Trips, Guehi, Walker can handle it (rice can drop back if needed). Use trent, stones, rice to get the ball up the pitch to the likes of foden, kane into shooting positions. Allow bellingham to maraud forward to crash into the box late, tell watkins to just stay up high and make runs to stretch defence. In this system the likes of saka, gordon would miss out but I think this system gives us the best chance of winning as opposed to relying on moments on individual brilliance from saka and gordan cos when teams double up on them then theres nothing they can do. Plus, imagine bringing on saka and gordon in the 70th minute when teams are knackered…

  18. Does it really matter in the grand scheme of things?
As Humprey Bogart would say in the classic ' Casablanca ' movie.
Spain, Portugal, France and Spain looking good. "Here's looking at you …kids".

  19. England needs to start producing more English coaches who are elite, the same way how Germany and Spain are doing it. It’s no wonder we have failed tournament by tournament

  20. Personally, I'd play 6 Goalkeepers and 5 Defenders. Southgate isn't cautious enough for my liking.

  21. Southgate isn't the right man for the job. Gets nowhere near the players potential. Being a nodding dog is perfect for his rulers.

  22. I concur with danielbuxton4493: Neville is the epitome of all of England's football talk since '66, completely without the accolades, skill or competence to back it up. And his commentary is dire.

  23. Look at Gary Neville the double standard the cynical the clueless all that chat and analysis i bet his Valencia management credentials speak for itself where he lasted less than 4 months beaten by Barcelona 7-0 winning just 3 out of 16 league games till he got the sack.
Who's Gary Neville to criticise Southgate as much as the England manager has not produce exciting brand of football and seems to be out of ideas ?!
Expert on what losing Neville but if you were to hear him asking for Cristiano Ronaldo to be dropped or asking for his retirement you would think he has what it takes in the big stages and the big players…
No wonder Ronaldo when asked what he thinks of his previous team mate critique on him he replied i am not friend with him he is just a jealous individual who tries hard on forcing a career by using Cristiano Ronaldo name for views and how sad that is….
