Hosted at the pristine Muckhart Golf Club, we marked a historic year as the event was held independently from the U14’s Open for the first time. England’s Lauren Crump clinched the victory in style.
Melissa Keay from Ralston Golf Club shone as the highest-placed Scot, finishing 5th overall.

good morning and on behalf of Scottish golf welcome to mukup golf [Music] club this is the final game in the Scottish girls under 16 Open Championship 20124 having the AIG women’s trophy today is an absolutely fantastic inspiration for all of the girls playing you know you can see something from afar and aspire to it but actually seeing it in real life absolutely fantastic I’m sure the girls that were all playing here today were absolutely over the moon been having the the girls taking pictures with it having a a look see where their name could hopefully fit into it so yeah it’s brilliant I think having the AIG women’s open trophy here during this Championship it really motivated me and I feel like it motivated others too and I feel like it made me to strive more to me wanting to put my name on that trophy suit I found this week a challenge and the course was definitely a challenge the Wind made the course extremely difficult and I felt like I needed to shoot under par to be able to have a chance of winning it yeah I think the week went really well for me I mean I progressively got better as the rounds went on my first round was a little bit iffy I definitely think it could have been better but it kind of just kept going and then today I really just tried to do the best that I [Music] could I had a moment on 17th green I had about a 30ft putt for birdie and I saw that Ellie lenine was 5 under and I thought if I hold this then I can guarantee that I’ll win it and I went straight in the middle [Music] in first place I’m receiving the championship trophy the 2024 Scottish girls under 16 open Champion represented England Lauren Crum to win this competition it means a huge deal to me and to win this against a field of such class was just an incredible [Music]
