about uh we got Trent Ryan hosting home his home uh bar stool classic he’s in Iowa Dan rapaport’s out there as well saw Uncle chaps is out there so barol classic continues to roll along and then we got myself and Frankie we got a bunch of [ __ ] to catch up on crazy kind of week and a half um I just came back from Europe up we were talking about a little bit pre-show but kind of a wild picture that came out that I imagine people would like to hear a little bit about rid I want to hear about everybody’s break but um but yeah probably a pretty pretty absurd picture I would imagine when that hit the internet yeah I mean you know we’re just all enjoying our American Fourth of July and then just on the Twitter sphere on the X sphere whatever you want to call it you just see this photo of you know like Rigs and Lurch and Travis Kelce and you’re like they’re in Amsterdam you’re like I don’t like I don’t even know what’s going on right now what day was that again was that Friday was that Saturday that was uh Saturday night which would have been like Friday midday I think for people in the great USFA uh yeah wild man just wild scene it was a scene it was a it was um one of the more interesting and coolest probably weekends of my life our friend Josh Isner who seems to be he’s almost kind of becoming the forest gum of Our Lives you know or he’s just kind of a part of everything now at some point it’s like every moment in history is somehow tied back to Josh Isner um but yeah from the dadbot classic to Taylor Swift show I went to last year he and I went to a show in Pittsburgh last year after the show he was you know he was really hitting hard on the on the Swifty front and he was like hey she’s playing in Amsterdam next year you want to go I was like of course I want to go and that was something that kind of future me agreed to and then all of a sudden it just happened and you realize like holy [ __ ] that’s in a couple weeks and then that was last weekend um Lurch came Lurch is great polar who does our merchandise she was there at the original pit Pittsburgh show that we went to so she was there it was kind of our original Swifty crew plus Lurch uh and then it turns out Josh is great friends with Bill bich and so people are probably wondering like how did Travis Kelce end up in this Suite with you guys well that whole football World the greats of of the great when it comes to football are pretty tightly connected um so you know coach belich uh had had hit up Travis Kelce he was over there so at one point we’re just in this box of the Taylor Swift show and we’ve got myself we’ve got Lurch po lurch’s girlfriend’s there we had Bill bellich Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are just just in this box at this Taylor Swift show in Amsterdam and at the same time which is another crazy wrinkle that was going on is that in the in the Euro 2024 the Netherlands is playing turkey and they’re like down one- nothing and at the same time in this box we had all uh wagered draftking sports book before we left on the Netherlands to win we’re like Netherlands going to be great so we’re like our bartenders freaking out about the game he doesn’t realize that like Taylor Swift’s boyfriend is like right in front of us and we’ve got Mahomes um and belich who like he didn’t really know who they were because he’s this Dutch guy it was [ __ ] chaos and it was it was very cool I will say like Travis Kelce was exactly what I expected out of him he was on cloud a million he came in he had like a beer in his hand he was super nice to everyone he took pictures from everybody that wanted to he had a great interaction with Lurch where like as soon as he walked in you know they said hi to uh to coach they had a great interaction with with belich was right with they walked in they were like hey coach and they’re like dapping up just a bunch of football guys shooting the [ __ ] and then lurch’s big presence is right there and Kelsey just looks at Lurch and goes hey big man like gave lurch like a broh hug it’s just two giant humans who kind of uh uh saw one another and he had on Lurch had on a great shirt that his girlfriend had made him that was Taylor Swift’s face with red lipstick red and Kelsey at one point was kissing the lips of lurch’s shirt that was lurch’s dummy because it was his girlfriend on lurch’s shirt uh yeah I mean I imagine when I didn’t even put a caption on that when I threw it on Twitter we’re were kind of right in the middle of it and I was like this needs to get out there I couldn’t think of anything to say I didn’t think I needed to say anything and we just kind of threw that picture out to the to the universe yeah it’s I mean you went through kind of all the details of the weekend prior I know that you want like you’re not going to really go through every little nitty-gritty detail um I mean you you have to like you you traveled across the Atlantic with Bill bich that also has to be talked like this wasn’t something that you guys just like met him in a sweet you guys went to Amsterdam with Bill bich there’s an element where you don’t want to like violate you know somebody’s like privacy especially somebody like Bill belich but he was on our plane he was on the flight there on the private by the way we got dinners with him it was a it was a PJ from Josh and belich you know I’ve seen him in the in the press conference and all that stuff he was the nicest most engaging conversational guy he was hilarious he was very like inquisitive about media because obviously he’s not coaching right now so he’s doing more Media stuff and like I said you’re kind of like once once you get into the trip and you’re on this flight it’s it’s um you become like pretty quickly you have a drink you become buddies and so then you don’t want to be uh a dick and like you know whatever violate this guy feels like he’s in a a private setting with friends at this point throughout the weekend so you’re very conscious of that but also realizing that like my life is pretty public we talk about a lot of things that happen we were going to put out a picture at some point that’s got like some part of our crew and we able to put that one out with Travis Kelce Bill’s notoriously not a huge picture guy which is great but he really was just like part of the crew he was hanging him and Josh has gotten dinner a few times he had done an event I believe with axon where they had him come in and and kind of speak do Q&A on on leadership and and you know one of those types of of corporate kind of like showings where he sat up there I think did a Q&A with Josh and so he and Josh had a little bit of a of a um friendship that’s kind of how he ended up in the mix and next thing you know yeah we were just kind of hanging throughout the whole weekend with coach and like I said he couldn’t have been better he was varying and all the inside little jokes that we got he picked up on him quickly he was quipping he was busted balls he was laughing he was game for everything that we did whether it was getting like a late night ice cream or or just having a pop or whatever it was and then and then yeah he was like hey do you mind if I invite you know Travis to come like into our suite Josh is like of course and then he’s like do you mind if Travis brings Patrick of course and so they didn’t stay for particularly long but there was a moment where that whole crew was in the suite with us and uh and it was it was something and we were just kind of having a drink you’re trying to act cool we’ve been in some of those moments that we’ve described on this show that one might have been the most like uh shocking just because you’re like how in the little [ __ ] we’re not even Psy we’re in uh metti like we were in Amsterdam we we were at this arena in the middle of Amsterdam with this crew and uh and yeah Travis Kelce was I mean he was dancing he was every song that she would switch to he knew all the choreography and he was like tell talking about like oh yeah I’ve worked on the the uh uh choreography with her on this one before and he’s like dancing around the suite while he’s got a drink while his like girlfriend was right out there just doing the damn thing in front of Amsterdam her last night the crow was Rowdy it was uh it was kind of a you looked around and I was like trying to take a mental picture of that moment being like all right if if all else fails and this is the end of it this is the one thing that I want to remember because it was pretty [ __ ] wild yeah it’s like hard to even wrap your head around the bill bich stuff’s insane I mean Kelsey and momes in that box at this point in the world with everything with Taylor Swift and you just it’s it’s crazy it’s absolutely crazy you guys were in Amsterdam So Random just so outrageous such an outrageous just let’s get on a plane and go to Amsterdam with Bill bich um ridiculous Josh Isner hard to really pin pin anything like you just don’t you can’t you just don’t know how this guy does I mean I know how he does it he’s unbelievably successful human being that’s how he does it but like he still pulls off things that are very very just stunning stunning you know like the Celtics he’s on the court and like like uh uh a end of the first half like halfcourt shot he’s like on the court like with his arms up like for his favorite team and like now that photo is like probably hanging in his in his man cave it’s signed by the guy who was shooting it like the guy’s just he’s just killing life right now he’s just dominating it like we we all go to like the dad bod classic like he like runs that thing he just like brings us all to like Pebble Beach and then we play like The Preserve it’s like the most laughable weekend of all time and we do it every year and he’s just like he’s crushing you guys go to Amsterdam he’s like hey Bill’s going to come with us like all right he is you kind of said it pre-show but it’s like he almost does treat life like we imagine all of us would if we just happen to win like the the $500 million Powerball lottery and you just you know you just like had complete disregard all of a sudden for anything and you decide to spend except he’s in a position where like he could totally do that he can do all these incredible things and experiences and he can invite friends onto a jet and fly across the Atlantic go to a Taylor Swift show go on a little Canal cruise and then just like fly home and have a nice wine dinner which we did the fact you’re back in Scottsdale right now is absurd I’m just in Scottsdale I knew I got I was I was wondering because I was posting pictures yesterday from Amsterdam we’re doing this canal curse and I was like I think when I pop up on that screen with bush and Frankie we do the show they be how in the literal [ __ ] are you in scale and it’s like no dude we just I almost we were texting about when we’re going to do the show and I’m like well what [ __ ] time is it in Amsterdam right now because you literally posted it last night so I was like it’s not adding up it’s really not adding up we just took a quick flight Frankie from Amsterdam to Cape Cod and then Lurch drove me up to uh Logan and I hopped on a plane to Scottdale and I was in my bed by like midnight last night just not a big deal yeah it’s impressive stuff and I I mean he’s on the track to like he’s going to like he’s going to end up like owning a team at some point or something he’s going to have some sort of own ship in a team like Josh Isner will be an owner of some sort of sports team that’s like my that’s for sure that’s going to be my prop my uh I think it’s more probable than not that he will do that I think you’re right I think that’s probably his end goal and he is a sports nut I’ll give him CR he knows I mean he knows everything he knows every player every play watching him and Bill go back and forth like play bypl of like the details of what occurred which player you know had the pick or made the sack or that led to the next play like Josh could go pretty much toe-to-toe with like Bill on remembering all that stuff I’d be blown away if he doesn’t at some point get into some ownership group with a team because he lives for that but it’s also I mean you know we like to give Josh as much [ __ ] as anybody that’s kind of like how you know guys being dudes but like he’s also just the most generous guy with being as successful as he is of anyone that you could uh imagine there was a great there was a funny moment yesterday where we took this Canal cruise around Amsterdam before before we jumped on our jet to fly home and we had this little Skipper Stan was his name who was driving us around the canals and as we hop out you know Josh hands him some some cash as a tip and we’re walking maybe we’re a block away and the guy comes running up and he’s like excuse me excuse me and we all turn around panicking thinking we forgot something and he just grabs Josh and shakes his hand and goes I didn’t realize how much you had actually given me I just wanted to thank you and like shook the guy’s hand and just said Thank you so it’s like he really is as generous of a dude with amount of success that he’s got he’s great with relationships that’s why he happens to know everybody everywhere that we go and kind of bringing people together and it was just fun man like at the end of the day he delivers kind of an opportunity for people to have such a good time you do feel a little like [ __ ] me I’m not like paying for this stuff but also I was invited I couldn’t possibly even come close to paying or repaying for this type of trip if it was offered up I would just say no because like I can’t afford to go on that but if it is offered up I don’t know you say no to going on a trip like that so here we are we were just there it was great hanging with Lurch uh what a what a history Lurch is had W with us throughout but godamn he is a funny [ __ ] he gets along with everybody and next to get out like you know a couple minutes into the trip he’s like slapping bill on the shoulder and helping him with his phone and they’re like going back and forth over food and and uh Lurch hasn’t changed also which I love I mean I think Josh Josh was dozing off heavily on the plane yesterday and he’s like on four different instances I kind of woke up and every instance Lurch had some sort of food item in his mouth that he was eating throughout the entire flight uh so Lurch hasn’t changed he’s as Jolly as ever and it was just um it was just a great crew polar uh is a was kind of our Taylor Swift Sherpa is what Josh was calling her throughout she just was like dialing Us in on every song all the history what we needed to know Josh is pretty into it too me and Lurch are a little more surface level they’re making friendship bracelets for us so you know we were we were doing the whole thing bought some merchandise it was just kind of a it was a surreal trip Frankie to be honest with you it was surreal it’s crazy it’s it’s stunning stuff [Music] man this episode is brought to you by body ignore I just couldn’t have ignored that text more and it felt good felt good to ignore he like Lurch is so inyour face loud annoying and to just like shut him up for a second felt good it did he has I haven’t heard from him in years I texted him after the Ranger game when the Rangers lost the playoffs I sent him like a laughing emoji to kind of get him going like you know like come on come on I’m in my [ __ ] anti- Ranger you could call me pathetic and do the whole Lurch thing you’re pathetic I don’t even want to talk to you and he he ignored that so [ __ ] you Lurch you’re not coming and [ __ ] caddy for us that’s a little understandable if somebody would have texted you that right after the Islanders get on I’m going right back at him I’m going right back at yeah you go with dude I had a great interaction at Colonial Springs my golf course out here um I’m playing uh with a couple of my buddies and and the guys all the guys who were at the um uh like the guys who help with the bags and and the guys at like the starter desk they’re huge Islander fans like Colonial is just a a massive collection of Islander fans I don’t know what it is but all these kids they all go to all the games together they’re like a great group of kids and they whenever I’ll bring like Brock or Bary they they lose their mind they can’t believe that the Islanders there so it’s an Islanders club for sure like all the workers um Dan the pro huge Islanders fan so um we’re we’re kind of talking I’m talking with the guys about the Islanders draft picks and like he’s the one kid’s like the Islanders made the steal of the draft they got this kid iserman we’re like going back and forth and then the the Islanders just got Anthony duclair and we were kind of excited about that like oh he’s fast like he’s got some potential they didn’t get him for much and this one guy he was a member there uh he was like in his bag and he’s like enough with this Islander [ __ ] all right like like I don’t come here to listen to The Islander [ __ ] and he’s kind of like giving a [ __ ] and he probably thought that just laugh it off I’m like what are you a pathetic Ranger like I’m going back and forth I’m like what are you a Rangers Fan you haven’t you’ve won one Stanley Cup since the cure for polio You’ve Won staling Cup in 85 years whatever it is 86 out 87 years and I’m rattling off on this guy he’s like Jesus like I’m pushing guy in the corner and then at one point he’s like giving it back to me he’s like you guys are just pathetic your little brother you can’t even pay anyone no one wants to play for you guys now we’re getting at it and then at the end he goes the only reason Mike Martin’s still on the team is because uh Boomer SI and his father-in-law and I was like who the [ __ ] is Mike Martin and then I just drove away and I heard him screaming ah I me Matt you just you you can’t say the wrong name when you’re in the battle like that when you’re when you’re [ __ ] in it when you’re in the trenches that’s like he had no more bullets like he’s going in a gunfight and it’s it just [ __ ] clicked on him and he looks down at the gun and I just [ __ ] bazooka him you can’t say Mike Martin you got to be on game I’ve been on the other side of that that guy still driving around screaming Matt I meant Matt he’s like driving around his car he’s he was in bed last night like Matt like Mike Mike you know when you do something really cringey which I do all the time you do something really cringey or you do something that you really regret where you’re like I shouldn’t have said that you like maybe I just do this but in silence you’ll almost like say it out loud like why’ I do that you know like if if if you get out of the Uber and the guy’s like have a nice flight and you’re like you too like I’ll be walking to my thing I’ll be like yeah you too and I’ll say you too you [ __ ] [ __ ] like what are you talking about so I just I love that that happened that really made my day and I’ve been thinking about it ever since so um I’m an [ __ ] I for sure am an [ __ ] I’m always goingon to go after people but that’s what sports are man like that’s what it is that’s why I love New York we have we have two teams for every sport and you’re gonna you’re G to love one you’re going to despise the other and there’s going to be someone on the other side of that and they’re going to hate you just as much as you hate them I [ __ ] love it I live for it I know you come from like the everyone’s a St Louis Blues fan we all get together everyone that you meet it’s a great time we hate Chicago Chicago like I know but something about like but your family is split you know what I mean like I got my father-in-law I can’t even go to their house like during like it’s crazy out here I sometimes am envious of like everyone that you look at we’re all celebrating the same thing it’s like when you go to the bar during the Olympics or like you know uh like the the world cup or the Olympics for hockey and everyone’s rooting on Team USA that’s something that I hold near and dear to my heart because I never get to experience that all my friends were in the same group chat rooting on the same thing the only time I get to experience that is like when we’re watching Game of Thrones and we’re all texting about something that we love like I don’t get to experience that with anything I have like two friends who are Islander fans out of my out of my 20 boys from home I go I don’t get I don’t get that we are all Blues fans like together we got a group of 12 guys on a group text that are just blues or nothing that’s really all we give a [ __ ] about and then we’re that way with everything it’s like it’s Team USA go or nothing or you know what I mean it’s just like when it’s the Olympics it’s like we’re all on Team USA it’s like all the time we’re just kind of all on the same side like our our crew is into like the soccer team that came there a couple years ago and like people were [ __ ] into City and City’s winning and whatever um speaking of the uh uh USA we got a little Ridder cup action happening this week I know I’ve seen this I mean we got to talk about the news that just came out the is the the latest report is that Mr Woods has declined uh uh to be the US Ridder Cup captain I don’t know if this is true or not I it just kind of came out as we started recording um because Tuesday so the show’s out today I think at noon Eastern I believe is the time they said that PJ of America is going to announce the US Ridder Cup captain for Beth Page next year tiger was the heavy heavy heavy favorite to get that gig we’ve talked about it a lot he was actually I think it was like the Masters where it was maybe brought up and he almost gave like a yes kind of answer but didn’t say anything um defend but kind of like you know gave one of those tiger dad joke reaction whatever and now the reports are coming out that he’s not going to do it um I’m a little bit torn on it to be honest with you if it especially if it weren’t for the fact that the other names that are on the list are uh zero I mean Stuart sink the list the article that I saw it was Tiger Woods Matt coocher web Simpson or Stuart Zink were kind of the names that were floated and I mean you just can’t have Tiger Woods on a list with those other people it’s not the same thing it’s not even the same planet that we’re living on at that point how’s it not Freddy how’s Freddy not number two that’s a good question that’s a good question I feel like he’s always been the mix like how do you not just give that guy the head coaching job it’s definitely would be over over any of those other three you got to have a huge name for Beth Page you can’t go to New York the host coming off a loss in Rome and not have a massive name I almost like I would rather them consider Phil for this [ __ ] thing than 100% than throw in one of these like system guys that’s been in a those are those are assistant Captain guys this is the Ridder cup at New York this is a show it’s Broadway it’s Beth Page like lights are going to be on you you just lost an embarrassing fashion in Rome on their Turf you’re coming home this has to be a big time pick and I know Tiger Woods was a favorite but you have to go after someone else that’s going to make the needle move you got to pop this one it cannot be steuart sink with his son walking around laughing and [ __ ] they’re all smiling all over the place he’s a great guy good golfer horrible horrible tan lines on his head I cannot have that to be Tiger Woods one of those three those are the only three that make the juices going and you may say that the captaincy doesn’t matter it [ __ ] matters go watch full swing season two and tell me that captaincy with Zack Johnson and the way that he got pushed around like a [ __ ] like like he was uh like he was Pinocchio and there were people that were all over him the jepetto were all over him just just dangling him anywhere they wanted to our guy Justin Thomas is like I’m gonna be on that team aren’t I like everyone’s just [ __ ] you can’t have that this year we gotta win now we got to talk about Tiger Woods Poss it’s more it’s more probable than not that he will pass this up because the reports seem pretty like you know substantial like the you know every single outlet seems to be saying that they’re hearing the same thing so let’s say that he does pass it up what do you think the reasoning for Tiger Woods passing up Beth Page would be there’s a couple options in my head where he wants he does he want to play there’s a way in which the reason he doesn’t want to take the job is a good thing right because that would mean that his Focus level even if it’s not play in the Ryder Cup or on the Ryder Cup team team it’s that his focus is so much on playing golf at a high level that he can’t for these next year and a half two years be the Ridder Cup captain and I know like they they probably overdo it with what the commitment of being the rer Cup captain is but they do all talk about it’s a pretty serious two-year full-time job where you’re like making all the calls all the time about everything you have the final say on like what’s the transportation going to be where’s the locker room going to be what gear are they going to wear uh scouting the players non-stop how many you know wives and extra people are they going to have involved at what when’s the gala like they kind of sign off on all of that [ __ ] and so overseeing all of that we talked about it with Robbie Mack when it came to the President’s Cup when he talked about like what him and Tiger’s job was with running President’s Cup team the Ryder Cup is a million times bigger than the President’s Cup so there’s a pathway to where this is a good thing overall because if Tiger’s prioritizing thinking more about the fact that he wants to play golf and be involved in the playing aspect of it than he can’t give him full his full self to the Ryder Cup team that that could be a good thing um I also think like the policy board situation and all that that’s going on with the Saudis and the and Liv and everything like he’s a central part of that he was given a keykey role it sounds like with Mahan been kind of pushed to the background that like tigers and the klays and all that are kind of making the calls he’s been you know rumored to have been at these meetings with yaser as like one of the few player representa Representatives so like if he’s doing all that stuff he might have just made the call of like I can’t also do what needs to be done to be the rder Cup captain um there’s also a negative where it could be that he’s just like doesn’t have what it takes to to multitask you know he’s like not at a point in his life where it’s like he’s not going to do one of the coolest things in the history of golf because of some limitations which would absolutely suck like he clearly was to kind of contradict myself he was the best player at the President’s Cup in 2019 he was also the captain of the [ __ ] team like remember that absolute Clinic that he put on just dusting everyone I think he was three and0 he had the win against AB aner him and JT had that iconic moment on the 18th hole where JT made that Putt and they went nuts like he was the best player that entire out of either team and was the captain and he pulled it off then I know he’s had the accident since then he’s five years older he’s less healthy game’s not in the same spot all that [ __ ] but um it is it would be like a little bit alarming that he can’t do it I he was a player captain in 2019 so I don’t know that he would say no just because he solely because he wants to be a player on the team so um I I guess the negative for me the biggest negative would be that I don’t know that there’s going to be a cooler opportunity for him to be Captain like if he’s captain at like hazel te in four years or he’s captain in two years over in Europe like that’s never as cool as be the captain in [ __ ] New York there’s a part that I think about maybe he wants to be the captain that wins it in Europe is that more special where it’s like you you broke the streak T you needed Tiger Woods to come in it’s it’s two years removed from right now where it’s like all right maybe maybe he’s gonna try and continue this golf thing he’s goingon to try and win Majors he’s going to focus on this now and he still has a quote unquote cool opportunity to be the guy that brought something back home I think these guys at this point in this era of this this group The Tiger Tiger Woods’s Life as a Ridder cup participant has been pretty bad in Europe you know I mean they just like I mean have have they ever won like have they ever won in his lifetime there at this point when’s the last time they won not since he’s been on the team I don’t think okay so like there might be something in there where he’s like sick of that [ __ ] you know that’s a mark on a pretty you know clean resume you might be on to something too Frankie yeah I’m telling you there’s something about about this European win that I think these guys are sick and tired of going over there and getting their asses kicked you know they say that in the greatest game ever played that one guy he’s like I’m sick and tired of these guys coming over here and taking our [ __ ] cop whatever he says our trophy like they’re sick of it uh I also am doing a little bit of quick research the next Ridder Cup in Europe is at adir Manor which is owned by Tiger’s boy JP mcnam Manis and you remember like every year tiger flies over and plays in that like proam thing and that’s with this like Ultra Rich influential JP mcmanis guy that they all love and tiger loves him and so he could I I think you’re on to something here I think he might be thinking yeah a lot of the [ __ ] that we said already but also he might be like no no I’m going to go over there to my boys spot which I love I’m going to be the captain that brings home the Ridder cup from Europe back to the US for the first time in a long long long long yeah that’s that’s that might be the reasoning I think he thinks Beth Page is going to be like a a no doubt win regardless of who’s captaining it yeah I’m looking it’s been I remember we were doing all the the the 30 years I think it was last time right is that what everybody was saying us won at the 1993 I think was the last time that the US won in Europe wow at the belfrey in 1993 Tom Watson was the captain because we won we won at Kiwa Island in 1991 that was the war by the shore and then the next year we won so it’s been since 1993 this every two-year event since the US has won the damn thing in Europe that’s crazy town Tiger Woods is waiting for it he’s waiting for it to to bring one home and it’s going to be the greatest like I I think think he’s already talked about that with the boys you know he’s like gotten the text messages like let’s just win this one at home this a home game it’s it’s strategy you know there’s strategy involved in this now we could all be wrong we could be wrong you’re out in London it was Rory Rory’s wife was there Shane Lowry Tommy Fleetwood Luke Donald they were all just hanging having a great time in London drinking red wine and that L’s a problem blv is such a problem that [ __ ] machine but it just made me it made me nervous just seeing that picture I was nervous like God these guys are such good friends man they’re not like Sharon house is just dominating the captain about who’s gonna [ __ ] make the team that shouldn’t deserve to make the team they’re just hanging out devil’s advocate of this whole thing is like you got to win in Beth Pig so you almost want to throw everything you know what I mean you can’t have them go back to back like you have to win this game you cannot lose it meth page you’ve literally no this is game seven you got throw your Ace tiger needs to Captain this team I would love to see Phil Mickelson I I know I there’s no chance PJ but like God Phil being the it had to be tiger Phil Forever Until Liv existed everyone was looking at the Beth Page thing whenever it was announced 10 years ago being like that’s gonna either be Tiger Woods or Phil Mickelson and now it might not be neither of them and I I’m __ ] I mean every single comment would have been just like how’d you miss those putts he’s just going to be we’ve talked about this like he owes nothing to us he is an athlete that went out there to try and shoot the lowest score possible and he lost his match and then he just gets to leave that’s okay you’re allowed to have that reaction that’s an okay reaction not every reaction has to be oh I lost now I go speak and then I go home like that’s not that’s not the reality of the world like you’re allowed to have more than one option when losing as long as he’s not like canceling himself walking out of there like it’s perfectly fine for kids who are looking up to Rory M to be like oh he cared so much that he was like crying and like sped away and like like literally couldn’t be at the golf course anymore because he loves it so much that’s a great thing to look up to also he cares that much that he like couldn’t even speak I mean come on so I’m excited to see Rory yeah you do want that like it you want both like like I said there’s multiple options yes it was awesome when Bryson waited at the PJ championship for to like shake the Winner’s hand like that’s a cool thing also but you’re that’s not the only option so I know we’ve beaten that you know into the ground at this point but um yeah I’m excited to see him he’s definitely been going through a rough time but I’m sure he’s excited to just like get this all behind him and winning cures everything so if this guy can rattle off he’s playing well that’s something that’s also getting forgot forgotten he’s like almost winning you know the US Open at pioner if he just makes a couple three Footers he wins Hollow like right before it couple weeks before correct so I think that um yeah I think this is going to be a big couple weeks for Rory I think this is like it’s not a revenge tour but it’s like it’s a I’m [ __ ] Rory I’m gonna I’m gonna do my best to shut you guys up with just my play and I think that if you’re a premier athlete I think any athlete would say that they love to be in that situation where it’s like I just get to go do what I do and I’m going to shut you guys up so yeah it’s exciting it is huge that it wasn’t the British Open that that that happened at like it was two years ago when there was just no option there was no major for him to try to win again for the rest of the year that was devastating because it was like we’re just done with Majors you got to wait nine months or eight months until the Masters Tournament this time it is nice that there’s like okay one month later you get another shot you get your last shot it’s the oldest tournament it’s the Open Championship you can go out like a hero this year so he’s at least got that to look forward to I uh I remember the clips from last year at the Scottish open he hit like that two iron into the wind on the last hole and made birdie to win that was sick so hopefully he’s got some of those memories going and going into kind of little linkx golf uh tour that we’re goingon to have here but uh but yeah I mean you’re right I think um I you know I think back to like when tiger won the Masters in 2019 and all those guys stuck around a bunch of the Green Jacket winners stuck around and shook his hand um you know the Bryson thing it just felt right at the PGA when he did it and there’s other times where we [ __ ] make fun of it where people stand around and wait afterwards like Ricky’s been roasted for years for being the guy that like always hangs around in the 18th green at major championships when his boys when JT and spe are winning Majors left and right you don’t ever want to be that guy so I kind of love the fact that he stormed off we haven’t seen or heard from him since I think that’s kind of what you want out of your top athletes and let’s [ __ ] go Rory I mean he’s got a huge opportunity going into um into the UK and hopefully he gets a win so um yeah full steam ahead feror hopefully he feels good about be like their Captain it’s a I mean they’ll take it all and stri they’ll they’ll love it all the players will will definitely Galvanize around them and they’ll this will be big but it is like if you go back and watch that footage from last year’s Netflix it’s kind of crazy that that guy that’s talking about getting left off the team and in our podcast what he said about getting left being left off that team the fact that he’s going to be leading those guys that he was talking about it’s interesting I uh also wonder about the Dynamic of him being like their peer right like at least the captaincy there’s always a little bit of a degree of separation of like authority figure you’re the captain you’re the leader he’s like just among the crew he’s 36 not even among the crew he’s like kind of an outsider compared to that crew I do think that aspect of it could help in that you know he’s like he’s he’s not you know it was almost like Zach Johnson was boys with those guys and that was part of the problem of from full swing and all that versus problem he’s not necessar boys but he’s a little bit too close to them he’s like their peer so that Dynamic will be interesting but I do nightmare CU you cannot make a mistake if you make one mistake on a part three it’s a six like there’s a hole at Colonial on Pines is over the water plays like 160 it’s 160 yards it plays like 180 it’s almost like 12 at Augusta where like you never know what the wind is doing and it’s always more than you think so like and then it’s like a constant battle it’s like if I go over then I’m [ __ ] but if I if I don’t hit the right club I’m in the water and I’m always like give me a 700 yard hole over over this because if I just hit the wrong club I’m in the water dropping three I have a tough Drop Zone shot now now like I’m going to hit it onto the green I’m going to miss a putt I’m going to make a five it’s like how did I just make a double you know hard it is with the way I’m playing right now to make a double on a par five like seven shots would be insane like I I my scoring average has to be like a five maybe even like below over my last 10 Rounds On a par on par fs and it has to be like a 4.5 on threes because I just like you you can’t make a mistake you cannot make a mistake I would say like my least type my my least favorite type of hole is like a mid-range par for I like like yeah a short par for is fun there’s thinking involved depending on the whole and all the whole deal strategy whatever and you could kind of spray one and like still have a shorter shot in and be recovery and a long par 4 I think is a great CH it’s a nice challenge like it’s a welcome challenge you step on the te you’re like all right can I [ __ ] golf my ball can I hit a good drive hit a good mid or long iron in like this is a true test I like it I don’t get that jacked up for like mid you know like a 3 like 80 yard par 4 or something you know I feel like it’s always like kind of in the Middle where I don’t get that hyped up for and then I don’t depending on the whole I’m I’m more of a I do you’re right part fives are always just [ __ ] exciting part fives have so much there’s like so much opportunity you could Step Up usually you could just like let it eat you could send it and even if you miss you could you know like you’re saying you could lay up to 150 to 100 yard birs and have a wedge in and like still try to make bir you could go for it whatever um and part three’s I’m hit or miss on there’s some that I think they nail and some that I just don’t get that excited about when you roll up and I don’t know exactly what that is like I know people love I’m one of them like you love a good like Well Done short part three where it’s like you’ve got a nine iron or a wedge or something in your hands and it should be an easy shot but like if you miss there’s a lot of treachery there’s also some of those that they [ __ ] up where you like all right man like I let’s say I make a I show up to a hole and it’s like 140 Yard part three and there’s they I don’t know there’s just not that much to think about and you make like a pretty easy par ho hum you’re sort of like almost feel like you didn’t deserve it versus when you go out and you make a par on a hole where you had to like hit a drive 270 yards and you had to hit like a seven iron in the middle of play the game you got to play the game and I sometimes think like that was a wasted one of our 18 opportunities out here like was kind of [ __ ] dumb so I don’t love that about some courses I I kind of agree with you but then I also think there’s some where you step up and it’s like the way it’s done designed wind whatever the [ __ ] it is you’re like all right here I’m on this te I gotta hit a proper iron shot into like a smart oh sure I’m not saying to abolish part 3’s I’m saying I personally can’t score as well on part 3es it’s a mental block I have to get over like I I just attack par FS or par fours like with just a different mentality it’s not I’m not ant part 3 part 3’s are the greatest holes in the world we’ve actually gone through that where it’s like whenever you think about a golf course you think about the part 3s it’s the most fun and most most of the time it’s the most fun to play like Pebble Beach is a perfect example for me the sixth hole my scoring average on the sixth hole might be under par I’ve like I’ve eagled it I’ve birdied it I’ve I don’t think I’ve made anything higher than a than a par on it like maybe I’ve made a bogey once so it’s like the seventh hole I have not hit the green yet there’s just something about there’s something about the mentality of attacking it like I’m getting with with these par fives like I’m I’m playing it the way it’s supposed to be played I’m hitting a good drive and then my second shot I’m really thinking through do I want to hit a fivewood a three-wood up by the green or do I want to just hit a nice pure seven iron and put it down the middle and avoid all the bunkers and then my next shot I have a nice 110 yard 54 degree and I’m going to flight it down I’m going to hit the middle of the green like you’re playing the game or it’s like wind’s at our back we had this at the creek a couple weeks ago it’s like wind’s at our back let’s go for it we all hit good drives and we ripped like four irons at the green and four of us hit the Green in two we’re like look that’s we have putts for Eagle like this is [ __ ] golf now you know like we are playing the game it’s just different mentality for me so um yeah and that’s a that’s a me problem I need to get better at like when I step up to a part three to not be so defensive I’m always thinking about like if I missed this green now I have to make it up and down for a bird for a par and like it kind of kind of makes me kind of not like I’m almost desing or you know I’m like it’s I’m not attacking it I don’t have that long iron in my hand where I’m puring it and I’m coming after the ball and I’m and I’m really coming through it so yeah it’s something that I’ve been working on like you know trying to get that mentality with part 3es longer ones definitely get you going um like I but like the other day I had a match coming down to the wire at Colonial and like the 17th hole is like 125 yard par three and like I just like missed the green with a pitching wedge and I’m like looking around I’m like I hit the par five and two on the last hole and I’m like now I’m in a bunker how was that possible right like I the pitching like if I was 125 yards out in two on a part five I’m hitting that greed like I’m I’m searching for that birdie my mentality is different I’m like I’m [ __ ] getting this thing tight but I walk up to the part three and I’m like don’t miss this right right now like you only have one shot to hit this green it’s a [ __ ] it’s like a mental block I have so I’m trying to get through it um poorly on part 3es but I just need to be better at them I wonder if there’s anywhere where there’s a backtack part three part five or the other way around part five part three where the part three has like a higher scoring average than the part five I would guarantee at Rockville links where they go 55335 the scoring average I mean you’re I bet those two threes are above par for most people I mean you you go from like drivable par fives back to back like um getable in two par FS back to back to like a 210 yard par three going towards the clubhouse like into the wind and you’re like this is the most impossible hole ever and then the next one is like they they tuck the pin over on the right it’s like a nineiron or pitching wedge but like if you if you miss the perfect part of the green it like Zips off the front or in the bunker so like I’ve definitely got like birdie birdie bogey bogey before and then the next one is another getable in two par five so it’s like you walk out of this like one under par after four after five holes and you’re like that was insane like that I don’t know what just happened but that was like a crazy stretch of golf yeah it’s a fun it’s a fun stretch of golf right there but it is funny it’s like part threes are [ __ ] hard there’s a like there’s a stretch like Aaron Hills where it’s like 13 and 14 and 13 is this tough par three like it was playing back into the wi and then 14 I think it played as a par four for the US Open but it’s like a part five and it’s it’s a little bit like more getable of a whole and for whatever reason I always just like play it well always and I was thinking in my head I was like that hole I wasn’t even playing that well over a couple days and I think over like three rounds I was like two under on that hole and I was like there’s definitely a par three out there that I might have been if my scoring average was whatever 4.3 on the par five my scoring average might have been higher than 4.3 on one of the part 3es out there over those three round which is like it’s [ __ ] crazy to think about but uh like that what is it the 11th Pole shinok I think where they kept saying you know whatever it’s the shortest part five in Long Island was the was the line when the US Open was there but like I could see that having a lower scoring or a higher scoring average than part fives on the golf course but uh but yeah part three is that ho is insane you just have no idea where to hit it it’s like it’s hidden and like it’s you have to just hit the right yardage and you have to listen to your caddy there and it’s so nerve-wracking it’s like hit it to this spot and just like pray that it stays up there I I was in the most ridiculous spot on 11 I was like I pushed it left and I was O over the bunker on the left in like high grass with a short-sided pin and I looked around like this is an imp this is quite literally an impossible shot to get near the hole I remember getting lucky like I flopped one and it hit the rough and like bounced forward and like went to like four feet and everyone looked at me like that will never be done again on this hole like something happened you hit something like a rock or a pebble that pushed it out it was crazy I remember I think that was the tea that we stood on the longest during the Mullan challenge I think Dave just could not hit that green to save his life yeah we were hitting like seven irons or something and like it wasn’t enough and then like he wouldn’t switch to the six there was something like he didn’t like one of the clubs and like where was like we’re like you got to just go to the next club and he’s like I can’t hit that one we’re like we have to just try yeah I do remember that we were there forever forever all right Michael Michael says uh what is the point of tiger winning one more major he will not catch Jack at this point so whether he has 15 or whether he has 16 does it really matter before we get to this I actually didn’t even hear what you said because I’m just thinking about the Michael clip from Mike Francesa that I don’t know how Alex is going to find this because I feel like I think the guys on Twitter there’s a guy on TW there’s a guy on Twitter that is up my dad and my father-in-law um they were driving in carts we have cart cam on them it’s a very funny video like they’re because they’re huge Boomer and Geo fans they were just like they were like parading around the golf course clapping like my dad was standing on the greens and Gio would hit a shot onto the green and my dad would clap they would clap like my dad and my father would clap and like they would tip their hat to him like they were their fans like instead of me like they’re rooting for them instead of me um but like my dad had never seen a golf course like that like they’re they’re analyzing the grass going up to the bunkers and like how it goes in and they’re perfectly trimmed like they’re literally mowing these things from the Green Into the Bunker like it’s impossible to even wrap your head around how a guy can how a guy can get a golf course is dial I mean I think it’s just an unlimited budget is how you do it but Craig C is like a world renowned superintendent world renowned and he has this place perfect yeah we were talking about a few weeks ago we mentioned that that place of all places has reached a level every time I’ve ever been there where I mean d we’ll go play in like December we get an occasional like 55 60 degree day and it is perfect so when you go there in the summertime like you like we’ve kind of talked about how for any person you kind of can reach over a golf ball the most nervous that you could be like whether you’re us Dave pite it’s that I think a golf course has kind of reached can reach that point it cannot be more perfect I don’t know that anywhere could be more perfect than they could get Glen Oaks they have everything that like I think they have like the sub air like everything’s there right like it’s all it’s all exactly what’s at Augusta it’s amazing so and we’ve done our match if few you know we’ve done a match against the Islanders there um but now like our drone is so dialed in Brendan and our whole team has gotten so good at filming like it’s just going to look so beautiful so if you’re not going to watch for the camaraderie of like watching us play Boomer watch it for this incredible incredible Golf Course footage it’s like it’s Golf Course porn and we had a perfect day an absolute perfect day um that place is special uh we we did bring up uh the top five top five golf courses on Long Island and and we’re going to play gol yeah I think that’s a ridiculous question for Michael You could argue that about pretty much anyone winning anything or it’s like what so if you don’t didn’t win the most of all time it doesn’t matter of course it matters and I you look at like the 2019 Masters like okay that was the difference between him having 14 or having 15 did that matter of course that [ __ ] mattered like that’s one of the most iconic moments in the history of Gulf him with his Embrace with Charlie at the whole deal and him having if he does win another major which I think he will uh if he comes back and and does win another major all the all the clips and all the memories of the car crash and like what that says the inspiration to people that he overcame he returned from a brutal car accident where he almost died or had to amputate his leg to winning a major championship out there at the age of 49 or 50 or 52 or whatever it is uh of course it [ __ ] matters so I think that’s kind of a ridiculous question that you could ask almost about literally any Championship it’s ever been one ever um Drew says how long do we think the Jason day malbin contract will last he said leave Louisville for the uh PGA and we talked a lot about the Jason day thing and Jason day with malvin is like obsessed with this whole thing he loves it he like loves the fact that people talk about it he loves the fact that he’s wearing different [ __ ] he was telling me that like they’ll send him a bunch of stuff and Jason day himself will like pick out kind of the wildest outfits and send him like selfies of them rocking it being like what do you think people are gonna say about this so uh the only reason I really put that in there is because like I think people I think it comes off like Jason day gets sent absolutely crazy stuff because he’s being paid by them and he just has to wear whatever they send almost like the Victor hin thing whereas what I kind of learned at least in this conversation with Stephen Malin who we know a little bit he’s a nice guy is that it’s like the complete opposite this is Jason day is having a field day with this [ __ ] he loves lighting the internet on fire he loves people talking about what the hell he’s wearing he loves it at different uh so I think it’ll last a really long time just because I think Jason day is having like the time of his life and he went from having to be that the [ __ ] scripted like robot Nike thing where they I don’t know if they still were doing this but like remember they have everybody would wear the same outfit that they were all yeah Nike guys that was like they’d have like seven guys in the field wearing the exact same like gray pants blue shirt gray hat thing I was like that’s ridiculous I think he [ __ ] hated that I talked a little [ __ ] on one of his outfits during the Masters it was insane I think it was the parachute pants so I’m like this guy’s going to blow away that’s just my personal preference I don’t like that type of pant I mean I am starting to get a little bit more Frankie cool guy like I got some like cargo pants that are pretty [ __ ] baggy like the like I’m starting to see the trend yeah well you know what it is you know what it is like if that’s going to become a trend and I don’t have to show my skinny legs like I’m [ __ ] that’s a win-win for me I get to wear baggy they got you know you can see a little ankle but they’re just a little baggy man and they’re like green and the other ones are like I’ve worn them I wore them to the bar in Chicago before the BARC so classic and people are complimenting me I’m like holy [ __ ] these are cool pants Ron said I look dope which is like wow R’s really cool guy um so I’m kind of coming around it I see what they’re doing like you know you got you need someone to kind of be the leader and go out there and like change the way that golf courses allow people to wear clothes right like you gota you need to be kind of bold in that way um I mean the Augusta National made him change his outfit I think on like day two remember that he had the huge Malin like sweater on they’re like you have to take that off it’s like it was crazy um so yeah I mean he’s definitely um he’s definitely trying to change it I mean malbin is yeah there’s people that love it like you Danny rap loves it like it’s that whole like cool guy wannabe cool guy Danny I don’t know if he Bary is a Malin guy bar booy’s always dressed cool since we’ve ever known him though you know yep like I don’t think Danny would look great in Malin but like it’s like robotic and it’s weird and it’s not it doesn’t feel real but it’s like that’s what you see we don’t have reunions anymore this is how I keep up with all my friends so like and now we’re at the and then everyone got married and like you’re just looking every Saturday there was another wedding post and like oh they got married they got married now it’s babies like everyone is having babies it’s just amazing how it just it’s the stages of Life the stages of life and like and when you’re in each stage you can’t even imagine what that stage is going to be like like you’re like kid that’s my um it’s my cousin’s cousins so it’s my like uncle’s brother’s kids and this one kid I hadn’t seen in forever and he was like a little scrawny like 11year old and I saw him walking around this [ __ ] party and he’s like 19 years old ripped he looks like [ __ ] Manti Tao like model like he looks like a [ __ ] model this kid like his hairs all over the place [ __ ] PEC arms he’s like [ how is this even you blink I just had my Oney year anniversary of my wedding it’s like one year is insane like that was yesterday it was yesterday that was yesterday I feel like we’re still preparing for you to like propose I still like feel like we were like still getting ready for that that like we’ve been in our house for three Summers I’m like that’s impossible I was living in my parents house like playing [ __ ] PlayStation yesterday crazy [ __ ] wild man but it is crazy uh reminder to go watch that chaps video um I we dropped it like Fourth of July really tough timing but everyone that’s watched it has really really loved it um go give him a watch I mean chaps his whole story the battle fuia the whole entire deal like he goes through all the details of how he got his how he ended up being a Purple Heart recipient and just unbelievable guy the fact that we get to work with him and con and Kate um special people like to go out and do that it’s nuts man like in that clip it’s so like there’s a seven minute clip of him telling just the craziest story ever of like being in like a legit battle and I’m like after it we have to like go like hit wedge shots like into a green like as if that’s as if that matters at all like when you you know what I mean it’s [ __ ] crazy but then you like look at it and we talked about it you look at it like the reason we get to go out there and just like hit wedge shots on a Tuesday for work and like we and and the fact that there’s golf courses here and like this is something a country that we live in where it’s like you can just show up to a golf course and play a game and like not worry about getting murdered or raped or whatever it’s like because we have the greatest country in the world because people chaps and cons and Kate that go out there and they like put their life on the line legitimately put their life on the line so that we can go do that or else it’d be Anarchy it would be we’d be living in a third world country we’d be we wouldn’t be able to do any of this stuff you know like we’ve hit the lottery that we live amongst people that go do that there are bad people out there that want us to not be able to do that and we in order to have right in order to have that ability you got to have a [ __ ] military and a really good one and people like that so you’re right those people were incredibly impressive it does make you feel like [ __ ] when you’re out there just chipping around playing golf whatever and you’re bitching or you’re upset about this or this shot or your can’t have this and you’re like wait this means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things if you’re listening to this and you’re you know enlisted in the service you’re serving and or if you are a veteran like thank you obviously this is you know Fourth of July is definitely a reminder you know Independence we like we are independent we are our own entity we are we are the greatest country regardless of what people may say from time to time with polit politics and debates and all all this [ __ ] in the end of the day it’s still pretty [ __ ] good you know what I mean like it’s it’s bad at times and the media is insane and everything on the TV is ridiculous Joe Biden’s like falling down and like Trump’s like out of his out of his mind it’s just like everything that’s happening just seems bad but it’s PR in the grand scheme of things it’s pretty [ __ ] good you know like it is we they try like the country tries to be pretty [ __ ] good I feel like and and you have people like that to thank so yeah special special
