The Rolex Series returns to the DP World Tour as The Renaissance Club hosts the Genesis Scottish Open. This year is the third time this event has been co-sanctioned with the PGA TOUR as 75 players from both tours will compete. Rory McIlroy returns to defend his title and make his first appearance since his runner-up finish at the U.S. Open. McIlroy the claimed Hero Dubai Desert Classic earlier this year and was victorious in the Wells Fargo Championship on the PGA Tour in May. Since then, he hasn’t finished worse than tied 15th, which includes a tied 12th at the US PGA Championship and the solo second finish at Pinehurst. Tommy Fleetwood will also be teeing it up in Scotland. Across his last four starts in this event, the world number 11 has finished in the top ten on three occasions and missed out on victory in a play-off against Aaron Rai in 2020. He also claimed 3T at the Masters and has been no worse than a tie for 26th in his last six starts. Ludvig Åberg is in the field this week. The Swede brilliantly claimed 2T on his Masters debut in April and played well for a 12T finish at the US Open three weeks ago. Others to look out for include Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa and Viktor Hovland.

Welcome to the Official YouTube channel of the DP World Tour. Every week you can find extended tournament highlights and individual player highlights from the likes of Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood. okay I mean I think we’ve waited a while to say this Bob welcome to the winners press conference of the Genesis Scottish open um you’ve said yourself this is the one that you’ve always wanted to win and you’ve done it can you sum up how it feels it’s unbelievable I mean my reaction and when that ball dropped in 18 just said it all I just almost lost my voice now but it’s um it’s a one I wanted and it’s one I got it’s just I’ve watched it as a kid grown up and it meant a lot it was really the only one that I could could go and watch and yeah it’s just I can’t believe it’s happened and just going to go and celebrate tonight sounds good okay we’ll open the questions we’ll go to Craig first or it looked for a long spell like it wasn’t really going to happen for you through the start of the round but what was it it really spoted you obviously the massive po but did you feel like it was there just to go and grab it was I said to I said mik when we walked off a off a 10 I said to him 16 or 17 could win this um because no one was going no one was getting away no one was making a move and um obviously the ball game 10 was disappointing but I just I said to his last last night the only thing I can do is give 110% and that’s what I done and I got lucky at 16 and took the one chance I got on 18 and it’s just it was just me be the Martin next you came to the last hole this time with your fate in your hands know what was going through your mind when you you stood on that tea and then the second shot yeah over the t- shot there was only one bunker in play um it was a second one down the left the wind was favorable it was down out the left um just try to hit a hard cut off of the off the right side just don’t over overcut it and the job was just give yourself a chance and second shot was nicely positioned Into the Heart of the I didn’t know if it was pin high or not and um got there and it’s it’s nicely pin high and it was just standing over the pot I was just like this is a chance you wanted take it and felt so good over the putt hit it and I thought it was half a row short when it was going it was just looked like it was run out of legs but it was just yeah it was just perfect Three Wood last time pitching wed Yer time it was a little bit easier we got a dog you say pitching wedge sorry I can’t understand yeah yeah sorry Club on what was it Club on 16 yeah it was a SE iron I was between six and seven okay and then could you just kind of walk us through the process of your routine and how you discovered the the break you got yeah so I mean I’ve I’m shouting and I’m swearing when I’m getting up to the ball cuz I I know that that’s my one chance to really make biry um coming in and I’ve got over the ball looked at it thinking we’re in a bit of trouble here we’re going to managed to move this maybe 100 yards and just as I took the step back obviously there was no high there was no high like rough where it would tangle the club so I could take the practice swing like a foot foot and a half from the ball and just a step back I just heard the the clunk I’ve got spikes on the front three of my my shoes not all my shoe is spikes it’s just the front three studs is metal spikes and I was like no way I’ve got a sprinkler underneath my foot and obviously when I the plastic spikes at the back you don’t feel it um and I said to Mike I goes Mike am I standing when I set up to the golf ball am I standing on that sprinkler and he’s laughing at me going yep yeah and that was just a lucky break and you use the rules to your advantage you’re standing a sprinkler you’re you’re due relief and that was just the one kiss I needed right just Center here um wondering what was the line on 18 the line on your putt on the putt it was it was just outside the right Edge um it was a double breaker it was breaking early um to the right and then the last like eight feet was was just peeling left and it was I seem to have on that back nine I just or all day I had just double break PS but they were moving quite a lot um and this one was just shallow and it was one I was most comfortable over and yeah it was perfect and then I’m sure you’ve dreamt about that moment on 18 for a good chunk of your life I’m just wondering how reality compared to your dream it was everything it was just I mean I’ve lost my voice from the scream that I made it I let out um last year was was heartbreaking but this year was yeah it means everything this is one that’s I said I wanted it at some point in my career and I got it today way over to right you said to Amanda you were brought up to to fight for everything and you just fought I guess what makes you say that I guess what was in your upbringing that made you brought up to fight yeah I’m from a a workingclass background um I’ve got two older sisters my parents Foster um we’re currently got a foster boy just now um that’s been with us for six seven years um I was given a great opportunity by my whole family we used to have some a horse for my sisters um couldn’t afford to do both and my sisters gave up the horse and gave me a chance to go and travel some within within Britain um and I was out rain Hill shine I was out graft and practicing when I was young and yeah I was never given I’m from the West Coast um it’s been difficult obviously weatherwise but your face doesn’t fit exactly CU you’re not a central belt guy and I just had to graft it at it and the biggest thing for me was never give up and a lot of people might say I he doesn’t quite have this he doesn’t quite have that but I’ve got fight and that’s all all I need right we’re going to go in front here pass along this way yeah Bob just taking a touch on the the emotional side of it walking off the 18th after that putt had dropped me it looked incredible was that the is this the best day of your life the best moment of your life it is I mean wining in Canada was emotional really emotional because obviously it was my first pj2 when my dad was in the bag I never thought it would happen um this one I was very calm standing over that part I was my hands normally I get a little bit maybe shaky in the hands which is just it’s natural everyone gets it but the poter felt heavy my hands were calm and I just when that part went in it was just had so much emotion that I just just let it out and it’s just this one this is one I wanted um now there’s there’s some more to get we tearing the eye it looked as you were trying to just kind of hold them back out you bit do you know tear before I hit the part before I I got mik to go and get my water um to try and reset but I was getting emotional before I started to read the p and then I was like you can still you still got to do a job here and yeah I done it it was just it was incredible to have my whole family and friends there and everyone that supported me were there and it’s just it’s a lifetime dream all right we’re going back left here hi Bob congrats um just talking about your friends and family as you come over to greet them having one and the crowd are singing Flower of Scotland just talk me through that and what you said to your friends and family when you came off yeah again there was a couple of swear words um out of almost shock and I just thanked them um all the boys my mates were there and obviously we’re just having a laugh and stuff but I just thank my mom and dad and um it’s just incredible to be able to do this and and I’m still been here and able to support me my dad obviously come down Friday night when I made the cut cuz he’s a negative a negative man and just doesn’t leave till probably I was under about the 15th hole when he realized he was going to make the cat and they’ll support me through thick and thin he’d have been watching the phone but it’s just to have the support not just from them but my friends my sisters Shannon my girlfriend my team from all the through all the coaches from a management and then obviously the support I had out there was just was top draw all right we’re going to go to Phil in the front Bob you mentioned that you’re going to quite rightly celebrate this hard um should we expect to see you in the Press tent tomorrow or are we going to expect a a change of schedule I think there might be a change of schedule um I don’t think I’ll be in a fit state to get to tr for I think it was 3:00 p.m. I don’t think I’ll be won’t be legally allowed to [Laughter] drive so we got to John in the center congratulations Bob um just to follow up on really what Phil said um how hard or is it going to be to come down from this in time for Thursday morning I mean it’s you know it’s quite emotional and secondly do you think this clinches pj2 a rookie of the year um how how I come down from this to I don’t think I will I think I’m just going to try and ride a wave and next week gets the Open Championship um and it means again a lot to me but you got to celebrate the good times because this is it doesn’t happen a lot and this is the one that I’ve said I wanted and um this one will be celebrated hard and I’ll pitch up when I tee the ball up on on Thursday whatever time I take off I’ll be try to win the Open Championship and um there might be some alcohol still in the system but I will try my best and I’m not really too worried about I don’t I don’t worry about the Rookie of the Year I think everything else that comes with this is is better than the rookie of the year but um no look I’m I’m going to celebrate this one with my friends and family everyone that’s there I don’t think they’re going to be home to Oben tonight my best mate was me be working on call um tomorrow morning and he ain’t going to call tomorrow um but now we’ll celebrate this one well okay I think that might be everything well done again Bob and thank you very much guys thank you to watch another DP world to video click here and to subscribe click here

  1. Is there realy a sprinkler in the rough on that hole? Is it like a tap where you attach a hose? Maybe it's like a 100 years old? Seems odd to have a normal sprinkler there. Surely some one will post a picture of it somewhere?

  2. I think I would ask him to talk about his love of Scotland. A lot of young people might want to win the biggest tournaments — the majors. What has Scotland given you that you wanted to give back more than anything?

  3. Up the Big Mac the people champion. To all you salty fans it’s black and white he couldn’t explain it better and to be a winner you need to be ruthless even as humble of a bloke as he is. And a winner he is.
It’s big macs for lunch while i put my feet up with my metal spikes.
    You rippa bobbbbby

  4. I can see a film being made out of this win Rab! As boy's we all have dreams, but you saw it through, even winning a comp in-between! Good luck at the open Rab from all – of course, Hope you bought your Sister a horse?
