I just feel that they’re not they’re not they’re not playing the style of football that they played last year and it’s like they’re living off last season they think they just got to turn up and it’ll all happen for them um off the back of you know playing in a grand final La last year when you watch the Broncos play they they were willing to work hard early in matches and then they all their football come and look you know there’s no doubt they played some razzled dazzle football last year but yeah they just they’re not willing to work hard early in matches anymore they just they think they roll out there and it’s all going to happen for them they come up against the very committed football side last night the dragons that were physical early especially against the dragons if you don’t match them physically you look across the field they’re like clones from the Winger to the front row they’re they like 108 Koo they’re all fast they can all Sid step they’re all skillful and if you don’t match them physically early then you you just don’t compete like they’ve beat heaps of good teams could you see this from the Broncos at the start of the year can no no so what’s changed from the start of the Year obviously they we’re going through An Origin period but they still L games with their origin stars is it Adam Reynolds is it the loss of Adam Reynolds well he’s been out for the most part of this season right he’s battled injury but he missed a few last year as well but um you know as I said they’re not the only team that have had the challenge of missing you know big name players throughout you know 2024 so I just think it’s really their their mindset and their attitude towards their football right they just they seem like they’re not they’re not willing to put in the hard work early to to set up victories they just they they want to go out there and they want to look for the easy easy options the easy tries and look they’re a wonderfully talented football side but it doesn’t matter who you play in this competition if you’re not willing to work hard early you can’t get the wins the young hooker that came on Blake mosa have you seen much of him had he go last huge reps on him yeah there are big reps on him um he come on the field he did some good things he actually scored a try which which got the Broncos back into the game but um the man that played extremely well was Jacob little for the dragons I thought he was fantastic possibly the best player on the field Moses suly was good I thought he did some really clever Things Early where where did you have the dragons this year Freddy because I I had them down the bottom just out of the eight bottom three or four he’s done a great job oh yeah I thought they’d be right down there well may the former Zack LX he’s he’s won them games without a doubt like between you know Benny hunt putting kicks putting him on the spot Zack LX some of the things he’s done this year um well the coach has done an incredible job the coach has done a great job what what he’s done Flanigan I reckon with that with this group is is taught them how to compete for 80 minutes now we’ve seen a couple of um ordinary performances by them throughout the year but on the most part like they’ve been they’ve been out there competing and and that’s the difference you know even if you if you look at you know certain list and you look at you know matchups between two teams and you think oh that that’s a much better side as long as your footy team goes out there and competes they’ll be in the game and that’s what the dragons have done this year so can you see the dragons remaining in in the top eight and and playing finals footy this year well the the result this afternoon whoever wins will will jump them so they’re right to the moment they’ll finish ninth after this weekend that’s right but I you know if they keep competing like they did last night well they’re a chance but they’re eal e so they’ll be equ e on on for and against basically they’ll fall out due to that I think Terrell s has a big say like he can turn a close game into a win like he’s so brilliant his defense was DOD yeah he just got overpowered a few times he was on his line in a couple of situations where he just didn’t quite have the the power that he kned early enough in the tackle I think Katon ran over him once as well Mo mosa was the the late one pumped him off one on one yeah he’s important that’s such an important position you look at um young CH gray got caught online as well you know if you’re going to be fullback and that’s a tactics you need to be able to stand up and hold that ground because every team now just spots them up and they get Big Blocks running at them and so you know or you change your tactics you defend somewhere else we can see there on the screen this is the Broncos run home do you put a line through them now or can you still see them just just cracking back into the well I had I thought they were absolute morals to win it I I just thought they’d win it and Win It world this year win the competition yeah I don’t think they’ll they’ll make the eight I think they’re done yeah that’s a tough one but I I think mathematically um after last night’s game they were talking about how many wins they need to when you hear that mathematically you know you’re in stri so you know that that’s pretty hard particularly with look at those sides that they got to come up against um you know finishing with the Melbourne storm like imagine your last round game against Melbourne needing to win that eight when’s e you back Adam Reynolds F it’s for that game they’re saying round 22 it was yeah I think it’s another four weeks one one tomb Town i’ played in Newcastle and and rugby league madtown yeah getting pats on the back all the time can make you drop your guard a bit I wonder if that’s happened in Brisbane maybe the Warriors they’ll p on the back line they’re incredible last year well it’s a subconscious thing right so even though they’re losing what they lost six in a row is that right Broncos they they’d still go to training at Red Hill and there’d be 100 200 people in training autographs photos pets on the back all of it and last year it was it was manic up there as well and even at the start of the Season you only need to drop your guard that much and if everyone does it as a team collectively you can drop does that help Melbourne you know like from a point of view of their out success yeah over a long time has that been a real one of the real assets or B I reckon I reckon it is mate because it helps you concentrate on your football like there’s no distractions at training you know like the media turn up once a week for your Captain’s run they talk to Craig Bellamy that’s about it um it’s not until the big games at the end of the year where you start to get big crowds of training so I think it might be this is the Titans third third straight Victory what are we making of of their form at the moment there’s a team building there there’s a real team building fast real attacking mode je they got some points in them but doing a really good job there’s up there yeah they they there’s a real team building up there I got to say credit to parata too they showed a bit of fight down 80 N I thought this is going to be 50 y I showed a bit of fight what do you reckon the secret is that Dez Dez has been able to get the best out of work accountability well firstly they’re not in the eight at the moment so they need to win a lot more games to consider it a successful season I think what we’ve seen is great attacking play uh they’re defending better like their games improveed without a doubt and you can see signs even players like Brian Kelly and those sort of blocks their games just become more rounded um well as you there you go as he misses a tackle they score a try so The Season’s not over I’m like you know I think they’re having a great patch at the moment they got a long way to go before it’s a successful season if you’re not making the eight it can’t be a successful season doesn’t matter who you are because half the competition is in and half is out basically so KH Pereira do you think he’s been the fastest we always say it nearly every week fastest player one of can we bring a can we defitely yeah we going to get the grand grand final and we’re going to have we’ll have the fastest and then we’ll have the slowest who do you think wins each I don’t know how do you how do you win the slowest so you can fix that how do you how do you reward it would take three years when people fall asleep because of the going that that that slow who would actually who would be the slowest yeah but C I re I reckon he would be right up there he’s lightning and you know what I reckon there’s footy speed as well he seems to have that Knack where his depth and timing’s always good he’s always getting the ball and accelerating like Alex Johnson’s got great foot speed always accelerating through the ball what about Jaden Campbell as well he was but also in attack but also put some big hits on yeah no well he put on a a good tackle to knock that ball loose for um was it Philip Sami try I think it was but just he’s got he’s got lovely touch and the ability to play you know full back and 58 he’s just a player look at that there like great footwork completely outmatched as far as you know size is concerned but he’s very willing I remember when he first come into grade and the thing that impress me a lot about um you know jayen Campbell was just his want to be a part of the footy game like he he never really stood out of the action because of his size or or lack of it um you know he’s always committed to to what the team needs of of him in his role so very impressive again last night he’s getting used to the defense a couple of times you could see he was just not quick enough from a point of view of getting up on in the tackle he got pushed away a couple of times his goal kicking was outstanding I didn’t realize how good a goal kick he was like he you know as the game got on he got a fair few shots at goal and they weren’t flukes they just the same kick every time too so that tells you a lot what about parata how concerned are we if we param at the moment they forgot how to win I thought they really competed when they down 8 nil I thought well they’re going to get absolutely red but I got to say they uh they competed they just they’ve lost there’s a real way to win to trying hard but then trying hard together like you need to play together yeah that’s the hard thing like you’re watching ran Kimbell Gillard he had three or four runs there like at one stage he ran actually through the goal coast line and ran 40 m like he was running hard but then it’s working together that’s the key you can’t do it on your own getting the team to how big a job next year for Jason rles well I think the salary cap you got you know you got he’s got to clean out some players hasn’t he that takes time and uh the key is getting their junior base their junior base is terrible you know that they were the PowerHouse they to win everything they the PowerHouse for decades and you know they got great schools in that vicinity and they’re not doing anything any of their junior rep teams have done no good in the past so you know you got to get that right you need to get some some good ones you got to get the peninis and all those BLS you going to be getting all of them and locking down some some of the stars that they do have as they lost the half contract number one they got they got they got to lock him down they got to sign him tomorrow there’s the BL G cber the halfback uh Ethan Sanders Ethan Sanders like you know he’s been a paramedic he’d come through and you know from what I I did a lot of Pathways and stuff like all I remember him is in param jerseys coming through you know like he was in every rep team and all of a sudden now the moment he gets to first grade he goes to CRA like 58 to6 the final score line points bet Stadium on Friday night do we talk about the sharks or do you want to talk about the Tigers first because the tigers as Adam dwey said after the match he said that was embarrassing I don’t want to talk about it cuz I hopeless absolutely hopeless I some BLS need to have a real good look at himself whether they want to compete and play or whether they just want to turn up and get the the check at the end of the week because they were hopeless and I feel sorry for their fans but they just did not have a go even Benji Marshall in the postmatch press conference he he actually apologized to the fans for well he shouldn’t be apologizing players should be apologizing what’s the glaring thing standing out for you not having a go it’s justy eff effort their effort and their commitment to to playing footy D that’s that’s as simple as it is there’s a price to pay you’re going to win a game in the NL there’s a price to pay you got to push through when you’re tired you got to aim up put your body on the line they’re not doing that they do it on occasions you got to do it every second of the game but on the Sharks JZ they played well this bike here the older brother is a good player Ronaldo he was good FR NCA come up with that nice passel in the game Gus was talking about his timing and his angle as his runs he’s sort of a a center 58 playing as a back row which comes in real handy when they play the way they do and when Nik plays and there a lot of ball movement a lot of run across the field having someone who can come back under and time their run is you know just makes it actually makes the style uh effective so he was I thought he was great what did Jama make trenle at halfback I like him yeah I like him he he plays physical he takes the line on he loves having the footy in his hands and and that’s that’s what makes a dangerous footy side is when you got a half that wants to take on the opposition and wants to be a part of the game and and gets plenty of touches I think this is probably the game that that canala needed because they they have been bumbling along a little bit over the past four or five weeks um and you know it was it was good timing I guess from from you know a draws P perspective that they got to take on the west tigers and have a good solid Victory and just have that feeling again of of winning footy games and dominating parts of parts of the game because it had been a bit of a tough buildup for them they’d lost a a few games in a row but also they had niiko Hines go down at training breaking his leg and cindus Moses requiring surgery on that Daniel ainson what did you make of his performance in the halves alongside trenle yeah he was strong yeah you know he played early in the year against Melbourne storm and was I think he was their best player on the field that night but he’s a confident young man I actually met Dan um he was part of the Mel storm going back you know several years ago but it’s it’s good to see now that he’s got an opportunity and it’s just there’s a lot of lot of young guys out there that just need opportunities right they’re stuck behind some of the star players but when they get their chance they get out there and and they play some great footy and here’s another young guy that just he just wants to compete he’s a he’s a run threat isn’t he we’re talking about you know the West Tigers before about you know the the non competing and the effort areas well there’s a couple of guys there we just spoke about that have plenty of that in their game what about Will Kennedy facing a a one game ban for contrary conduct on the referee there’s been a lot has already been said about this a lot of people uh quite riled up about this well it looks like an accident um I got to say to be fair uh I haven’t seen all the other angles if Will could have avoided it you can’t be touching referees at all you know it’s a problem getting referees to ref our game you know but to be able to get all the other angles to see if we’ll had him in the line a site so at the moment I’m not going to say that it was an awful decision I think it was unfair and harsh but I need to see all the angles but the last thing we need is you can’t touch referee simple as that yeah no you can’t it’s really hard to to actually comment on it because the only person that knows is Will right so um when you’re looking at that Vision there like that he’s he’s doing what all good fullbacks should do like he’s got eyes for his teammate he’s pushing down the middle at speed it’s really hard to pull up like if he’s seen the referee last minute like it’s hard to really sort of change a line pull up so look we’ve seen handson referees you know in the past and all that sort of stuff this is a slightly different one but he’s facing the suspension so yeah I thought the grade two would be interesting why they thought grade two um because you I think it would have been the force Freddy yeah cuz he was flying and he had to dodge his own blow and all of a sudden the referee moved a little bit as well so unless you’ve considered the other angles I’m sure that’s why it’s a grade two not a great one does this put a line through the bunnies finals hopes yeah yep yep y they lost their Edge I thought in defense it was the one thing that was gone for them but you can just say they’re very underst strength and it just told what was interesting they scored equal amount of tries it was the goal kicking that that was hilarious Ki down yeah no l so LR was the regular goal kicker Cody Walker stepped up couple times and couple he look like he trying to poke him so funny he clearly we we might need to do a Sunday School so good on goal kicking yeah how not the kick yeah but uh they showed fight the bunnies one stage all behind boy 14 16 points and then they rallied late and if they kicked those goals they would have been right in the game this is probably the Highlight this try here I’m still waiting for the Dolphins to fall over I’m still waiting I’m still waiting but they just keep winning but uh injury to and a he’s gone for the year so their depth is really getting tested he is a good play of this and I love the interview after the game when he would have been told his whole life you’re not big enough you’re not this you’re not this but he kept at it and we’re seen some really small players well it end up being a tackle yeah actually saved the day the crucial stage of the game he held someone up he was in a tackle on yeah cuz he was he was at the Broncos for for a bit trer was yep and then he came across and he was playing Q cup for Red Cliff for a number of years and uh got his crack in NRL he’s actually off contract at the end of this year he uh he hasn’t yet resigned with the dolphins they resign him for sure have to he’s been so good like in the absence of the hammer um hammer so tabero whether it be through injury or or uh origin representation every time tful has come in he’s he’s played extremely well been you know they top three every every every game that he’s played this year yeah well he’s similar to hamr so their game doesn’t change it’s not like you go from Latrell to Joy gray who are totally different players yeah he’s not too different a hammer what Jack Bostock he’s a rep player in Waiting isn’t he a good player reliable make very few errors uh T pangai Jr what did you make of his uh this is he’s only a few games back in and is it Wayne that’s been able to get the best out of him looks that way about that well you don’t know T is an a n punk as we all know but Wayne gets the best out of him I don’t know what it evil Freddy he had bit to do with t but he looked in a mood he’s laid offloads he scored a try and he was well he was the best forward on the field it’s he’s a pretty that’s a head scratcher he’s such a good player he’s a very quiet person like in amongst the team very quiet just goes about goes about his job and he trains he trains pretty hard you can see he’s M you know he’s a couple of weeks away from actually he’s a weapon being um back into sort of full fitness so but he just had players hang off him and he was still just charging through he certainly he certainly had a presence didn’t he a physical presence early on um the opening exchanges I think that was the real difference between the two footy sides um I I spoke to him after the game Freddy and yeah he was pretty quiet I think he was just really grateful for the opportunity to be be back playing NRL um there’s no doubt that that Wayne and the rest of the coaching staff up there um at the Dolphins have had an influence over him he seems a lot more sort of controlled with the way he played the other night so you know usually he’d be looking for an offload pretty much every hit up that he’d have but
