going to be the primary focus of what we’re talking about today but we can bet all across the place we have like the Isis Kentucky open or something like that that’s going on the alternate field event that’s in the mainland in Continental USA and then valderama for Liv this week as well where Taylor gu is the defending Champion plus we’re going to talk a little bit about the John Deere classic use going to be in all of these fields yet because guys can vastly improve their spots and the standings and make them safe on the way going through but part of the fun is going to be trying to take some of those guys that are like one 22 in the standings and work their way up or 99 in the standings or however the hell it works out I’ll figure out the rules of the FedEx Cup and then I’ll get back to you on that one let’s talk John Deere classic you used Davis Thompson as your oneandone last week I can’t remember did you bet him no yeah there’s some things but let’s just let’s just keep going so I’m going to take that as a no or you secretly did and don’t want to tout it let’s just keep going I I got a I said it I said I tweeted when kentley went out I was in front of my computer and I overb like a lot of things so just happy to come out of the deer breathing um was good I get in the most trouble Pat when the good player withdraws from the bad field like that always causes me trouble so no that that’s not true though because I think the reason that you do it and a lot of people do it is because everyone did this except for me because I’m a [ __ ] with Dustin Johnson that year that he withdrew from from Pebble Beach and then everyone bet on Daniel burger at a good number and then he dropped like 30 points and then he won and then everyone’s like oh let’s do this every time it’ll work yeah maybe you do one time and then you you think you’re made or you’re just perception of it but yeah being in front of it sometimes it’s better to miss the news um but yeah it seemed like I just I I fired on every I went like full cam Stewart who put it that way like that would be the best way to explain what ended up happening uh I don’t know what else you say about the John Deer it is what it is yeah there was 14 I think it was no sorry 16 players at 20 under or better that’s that that’s a bit rich I think for my blood uh listen if it’s going to be the John Deere no one cares anyway just have it be whatever and it was like water logged all week so there was lift clean and replace the greens were super receptive unless you were Su JM making Bogies was not really on the docket for if he had just had a good Saturday he was in the thick of things like he ended up finishing it 20 under and I think he was even or one under on Saturday like what are you doing pal give your head a shake well there’s a lot of guys who should there I for it has to be a very demoralizing week also for some guys who think they’re better than they are and who don’t you know perform there to their standard it’s got to be like uhoh uh oh um some head spinning I don’t think any of them were going to catch we’re going to catch buddy he was just off and running the course I don’t know it just is the most exciting thing about the tournament was you know thorbjorn is him and and olison or sorry um Clanton holy [ __ ] Clinton yeah yeah Clinton yeah the Rooks except for Neil Shipley who I bet on who actually missed the cut after starting I think five he he was five under through six holes to begin his opening round and he missed the cut so that’s exciting stuff when you bet on a guy other than that like I was happy with the guys that I bet on they just didn’t get there it was the Ryan Davis Thompson and Denny McCarthy like that tier of player was the one that kind of you know grabbed this tournament by the horns and went with it like Ben Silverman was making a run for a while I had money on him and then he just kind of gassed out on the back nine on the weekend both days and just couldn’t keep any of the momentum going forward but it’s fun to see like it almost felt like the last three weeks have been I weirdly by weeks and it makes sense too like have this crappy tournament over July 4th weekend where no one really cares anyway like it’s a good place to bury it yeah it’s a good place you almost wonder like how much does John Deere pay compared to the rest of the world and I know it’s more like location based for them because I guess that’s where their Hub is in the midwest Western Illinois but I you have a company like John Deere like come on like we need sponsors let’s do something bigger and better but obviously they’re attached to the community there just I don’t yeah it’s Fourth of July weekend and we talk about this often the PGA Tour acknowledges we play a lot we play a lot you don’t have to watch every week if you don’t want to watch don’t watch we totally get it but if you do have like an urge to watch We’re exactly where you know you know exactly where we are at the exact same time on the weekend if you get that urge if you get that urge we’re there for you but you don’t have to watch we play so much you don’t need this event you want to make fun of this event go for it like that’s they they in some ways they even well like unofficially acknowledge that about their schedule and the way they operate like Monday Night Raw on a circus I think it makes sense and that’s exactly what happened to me once sunjay was kind of out of it on Saturday like I had no real interest left in the tournament because that was my best runner and he took himself out of it but you know going into the back nine on Sunday I was just kind of setting like yeah I’ll turn on the John Deere classic let’s watch some more Davis Thompson just be electric I watched it at the beginning he made like the 55 foot putt on one for birdie as like well this is probably over at this point because Aaron Ry couldn’t get anything going pan couldn’t get anything going early he didn’t get he didn’t get his round really going until the back nine and ended up getting that Open Championship spot I wish they had made more of that like that that should have been the thing that was more focused on like hey you know Thor vion almost got himself and Luke Clinton almost got himself into the Open Championship based on the result like that once Davis Thompson got out ahead by so much and was like an emotionless robot he was pulling his best Patrick cley impression on the course so good for him but that should have been the real story here are these two guys and when was the last time you can remember two guys and we can even throw Shipley into this it kind of reminds me a little bit of morawa Victor and Matthew wolf when they came out that these guys are just really good it’s awesome right it’s so much fun these guys they come out they’re ready to win college and trackman All of It prepares them to come out of that tunnel like they’re playing college football like CJ strout like day one you win like it seems possible in all sports now the way they’re prepared before they actually get there which is why we give such a hard time to the guys who are like 26 and haven’t won yet because you know so much of this new generation kind of can just show up and win and on the biggest stage we saw it so much I totally agree with you though Pat Ian Baker Finch should have been saved by the bro like oh my God Pat there is nobody who I think is putting his foot in his mouth more he doesn’t even know what the score is I’m not even just talking about this week but instead of like trying to compare Davis Thompson to Scotty Sheffer the broadcast should help you out and just like let’s talk about this amateur battle for an open spot you know but we hyperfocus on the guy up six he’s playing great he’s incredible you saw like the eighth or ninth hole they said how many feet of putts he hit you know some guys don’t hit that in two weeks when he dropped in nine holes or something so there was truly a masterful performance going on but in some ways on that course to to there’s a lot of casuals that can watch that and be like this is amazing I’m there like we don’t see this often but there’s also hardcores or people are somewhat in the know being like okay like okay it’s the John Deere like accepted this like it just you just know someone’s going to do that and it doesn’t mean what it like normally means but we acknowledge that that’s like part of the math that we put into grading what this win means and what the scores mean I’m disappointed to miss on Davis Thompson but at the same time I wasn’t going to get to his number especially post kley withdraw I think he ended up going at 22 to1 like there was no chance that that was ever getting my money at the 33 to1 that probably should have been more Inplay for me at the beginning of the week but I just kind of dedicated myself to saying you know what I’m just going to play him on DraftKings I’ll go through it it’s a lot like Austin ekro at the Honda for me a guy that I’ve bet on a lot over the past two years and just wasn’t there for his win I mean the ecro one hurts more because he was 100 to one and I should have been on him anyway because he was 100 to one but I don’t feel bad about missing this but I am kind of disappointed because I like Davis Thompson yes seems like it’ll be the first of um first of many it always sucks it always sucks that’s sometimes it’s like the given take of of riding guys because you want to be a part of breakthroughs and not but yeah a lot of signs pointed to that one coming and even seeing the leaderboard Pat it fell into exactly what you said happens here outside of one like hurricane from the skies once a decade the winner is really sort of like the names you think are going to win and I know that’s like an easy thing to say especially in hindsight but whether it have been like Eric Cole or or Ry or Davis Thompson Denny it just seemed right like this tournament in some ways like you can just pick off from a pocket and you just hope the star player doesn’t withdraw if there is a star player and you just pick from that range and and it seems like you should be in the right spots come Sunday here always well I’m going to try I’ve never had a winner here ever I don’t think I I was just thinking that I I have never hit a winner at the John Deere classic either and two of the bets like Davis Thompson I think was the most tip player this week and he ends up winning and two years ago I think Poston was the most tip player 60 to1 80 to1 whatever he was and he ended up winning here as well and just I I missed the boat on both of them so this this tournament has been a taker for me yeah I had the Patrick Rogers year that I think he imploded and Bryson got him he you know and we were already making our like hope Patrick Rogers brought his passport like no [ __ ] didn’t happen no don’t need your passport let’s move on from the John Deere classic because now we have a real feel at the Scottish open it’s a co-sanctioned event between the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour and regardless of what cuss might tell us in DMS Jeff this is more beneficial for the Scottish open to be partnered with the PGA Tour rather than live for this event as Tim would think that’s a better idea it’s hard to well it’s actually pretty easy to keep up with Tim and his like live stances but you know like every like every live goober they’re out for the John Deere you know okay like I don’t even think PGA fans are defending the John Deere other than it’s right to exist and the fact that a company like John Deere wants to be attached to it and it airs on CB s is reason enough for the PGA to put it on on whatever pedestal they can try to do it but yeah I don’t know it’s I actually think Liv should have played this past weekend I I believe they should have gone head-to-head with the John Deere and then they should have allowed their guys to head over to England and get acclimated to a major championship in any which way they want now some of them obviously decided they want to play the exact week before I mean I love valderama I’m excited for these guys to be there but I don’t think this is a good major prep it depends it’s a difficult course so you’re probably not going to see exactly the same thing next week at Royal trun but they must have pulled the players on live because they’ve played the week before every major so far that they probably said hey we need to play the week before a major this is our best possible prep so let’s do it I think Patrick Reed’s played like nine weeks in a row he’s playing Asian tour DP World Tour he’s he’s across the world right now playing every week he will not be in the open though um I don’t mind him at all this week we we can when we get there we can talk about that but when you say live pulls its players like we talking like an eight-man poll yeah like a fiveman PO the the guys that are the guys that are playing in the majors yeah um yeah no obviously and and obviously whatever they want should Reign should be the answer but you know i’ I’d pick on John Deere and then I would have let my guys head over to lynx and you know prepared how they wanted but like you said they ran their own straw pole the Renaissance Club is the host tournament it’s 156 player field we don’t have all of the top PGA names so Scotty’s given us a bye-week here so we can bet on someone else and now Rory becomes Scotty in this field as the defending champion and by far the best player I guess him and Xander are the two best players the players that have won this tournament each of the past two years but I really do think that this is what the signature event should look like like yeah there’s probably 40 guys you can cut out of this field that are mainly the DP World Tour Crea players at the bottom end that are 2,000 to one but cut 40 guys from this field make it 120 players and like this is what the signature event should look like just add Scotty Klay and the four other guys who aren’t playing there’s nothing to object to there that seems all pretty fair and balanced and with appe peas you’d hope almost everybody but the true pampered [ __ ] even if like who cares no I know but you don’t this all exists there’s no cut stuff exists because it was their counter the high-end player counter to live but I agree elevated events like this one exactly how you laid out like that’s what they should be that’s what’s healthiest for the sport that’s what I think most fans actually want but then I feel like we’re probably in our bubble because what was that last event a couple weeks ago you almost realized the one the Scotty Tom Kim won three hours into that thing maybe less I I’m probably I’m playing golf with my buddies we look at the leaderboard and I’m like yeah I rag on these elevated events so hard in the field construct but right away you can see it’s going to set up for exactly what the tour in CBS wants on Sunday you know a bunch of but I don’t I don’t think that’s any different than what we would normally see anyway like if you put all the best players in the field like do we have this problem at major championships are are people disappointed by the leader boards that we’ve seen in any of the three Majors so far and there’s 156 guys in the US Open 156 guys in the PGA Championship there was 156 players I think or 136 players in the PLAYERS Championship we got the leaderboards it’s not like Matthew paval I mean he was up there at the US Open but we still got the other names along with it so you cut some of these losers from the field if they don’t play well I don’t have a true counter to that because you’re right even when we get to these big events we’re like well betting is kind of easier because it is like you know the pocket other than it takes Scotty out of it you know what I mean like the it sometimes feels easier to pick a winner in a major than in a standard full field event that being said last year in elevated we got like a lot of randos um we got a lot we got we got Rand we got randos winning but go look at that leaderboard that kittama won on it was Rory and Scotty and Victor it was like the the seven guys that you thought were going to win but kittama won like and then that’s a good story when it is like the GOL the David beating a couple of goliaths that like none of our you know some of our parents haven’t heard of that’s you’re right that makes for a equally sometimes compelling you know yes I had a jagger ticket but I thought in some ways isn’t it like fun part of the player being great whether it was or the any of the tennis guys is sometimes when like the David gets into the battle with Goliath and that’s its own compelling you know TV you know like when the Titans go up on the Patriots you’re like okay this will be fun today but in the end well maybe it’s because it sticks out in my mind but think about all of the major championships from 20 years ago whatever it might be like all the tiger ones kind of bleed together you know which one really sticks out in my mind was Rocco no I mean there’s the and yeah because he went head to-head with tiger and ended up losing it was y y y Yang beating tiger at Hazel te you’re right and then Rocco and and I think it was Bob May the PGA Championship whenever tiger did the point in the playoff that must have been so excited like this true David ver versus Goliath you’re right those do have their own compelling ways and it’s also fun won’t be fun for me but when you get these great players like a Scotty sheffler or last year Brooks Kea these guys with majors in their po pockets and they’re like stiff arming Victor hin like no you’re not breaking through on my watch buddy like as much as that sucks for my Victor bets that I think makes for great TV the Superstar stiff arming the guy we want to see or like you know the guy I you know whoever it be you want to see breakthrough you can interchange whoever you think that player um should be but yes back to you know to to go full circle you’re right how you laid out what at events probably should be I I would agree with that sentiment I released a show two shows on Sunday one was the preview for the Scottish Genesis open there’s not shotlink data from it so it’s really tough to do much of a deep dive but Jeff I got blickle to play Royal trun on a simulator as I talked to him as he went through it now we had a couple glitches in it it wasn’t a perfect product but people really seem to like the show I I like this concept we need to figure out the technology a little bit better to make it better for research but I think it’s a fun way to look at major championships when you get to a course that you don’t normally see I just saw I had a chance to watch that one yet but when um I guessed what you were doing you know off uh off stage I thought that was a pretty cool idea and I’m fascinated and I’m a big fan of Alex yeah so if you want to get a sense of what royal trun is going to play like you can watch that I said it’s not perfect uh but the concept I think is really good and people have responded really well to it so far but let’s get to the the top of the board at the Scottish open Rory is the betting favorite he’s 6 and a half to one Xander is eight then it’s ludvig and morawa at 14 Victor at 20 Tommy at 22 who has a top 10 finish each of the past two years at this tournament and lost in a playoff to Aaron Ry when this was only a European Tour event Hideki and Tom Kim are 25 to1 then you got M woo and Justin Thomas both at 30 there are better numbers in the market on a lot of these guys but this is what we’re going with for the moment Fitzpatrick is up there as well as the other name the 11th name on this list does anyone leap out to you right away cuz kind of want to bet Tommy Fleetwood we’re not in America anymore Jeff it’s the time because everyone’s gonna bet minwoo he doesn’t deserve to be in this category he might win he has won this tournament before from behind on a Sunday in Terrible Weather mind you he went and posted a number and everyone fell back but this just seems like a bit much like Aaron Ry who I have bet on this week is 55 to one why is he 25 points behind minwoo I mean you yeah I don’t minwoo won here before I like I have a I have a minwoo future for the Open Championship that I’ve had for a while and until I realized that he won here I was like wow like CU he’s still like 80 to1 to win next week and like being 30 to one to win this week but 80 next week like is Liv and Scotty worth that many points probably is but that’s something that caught my eye but let’s go to where you started this Pat I freaking crushed crushed Tommy 28 on the open at a FanDuel I’ve already got that and then I’ve been I haven’t but someone’s been hooking me some good tennis bets I got a match going off at 10:00 a.m. that I parlayed with Tommy to get him at 60 ah [ __ ] I don’t even know the guy’s name I’ll get it here Fitz uh I think it’s Fritz Fitz yeah so uh I’m riding but that that can lose that doesn’t even care I’ve got my Fritz I got my single bullet on that match but uh yeah I’m all in on Tommy I’ve bet Tommy and I’ve made one other bet here and um yeah I’m pretty excited and I might even bet a third Tom I might have three Toms on my card Tom Tom Tom who’s the third Tom hogy oh uh it’s a Thomas the third one’s a th a Tommy a Tom and a Thomas well you get the get rid of the Thomas and just bet Tom hogi and then you can really get going okay maybe I could but uh I well I mean we get there when we get there but just you know cat out of the bag I bet de at a 100 Oh I thought you I thought you just double down in the 20s with Tom Kim and Tommy Fleetwood because Tom Kim is the other player besides Tommy Fleetwood who has top 10 at this tournament each of the past two years yeah so I bet Tommy 28 Tom Kim 35 and DET 100 I’ve I’ve bet and I’ve got bets in the other tournaments too so I’m I’m excited I’m ready to roll this morning I like it I mean Tommy was the one who left out to me as well as someone who just you know excels at lyx golf he’s playing pretty well coming in obviously he has an affinity for this course for one that he’s never won Top 10 each of the past two years lost in that playoff to Aaron Ry four years ago so yeah I think I might be with you the best number I can find right now is 25 so I might jump on that because I I have a feeling he is going to be the popular bet this week I can sense it because the 28s crashed to 25s which crashed to 22s so if you can get that at 25 uh still P wouldn’t stare at it much longer um it’s a boosted bet it’s a it’s a boosted BET right now on 365 they’re offering from 22 up to 25 as like one of their specials which is okay and that’s that’s not like an enhance that’s a boost which is not good I I do not bet 365 got wind it’s to it’s oh the internet’s spting Tommy let’s juice him up for these for these suckers and they’ll walk right in I’m one of them but I’d be the thing is I’d be there regardless it’s like you non- tommmy people coming in thinking that you’re going to get some gold the leprechaun will not be finding it but I’m still betting it well there’s other players like I thought hideki’s odds were kind of curious just like he’s kind of buried down on the list he had a bad Travelers but you know he was eighth of the memorial he was sixth of the US Open he had a bad I mean his bad finish was t23 he just lost it all on approach but he’s someone that remember the the big first moment I can really remember from Hideki was at an Open Championship I feel like he plays Link Golf really well kind of always he’s he’s kind of played everything really well um he was sixth he was sixth in his debut at the open in 2013 but 25 to one like up to 28 to one isn’t bad like I like him significantly more not that I dislike Tom Kim I just think hii is a better player but I like him way more than minwu or Justin Thomas or like those types of players spe I mean yeah Justin to I mean over Justin Thomas 100% spe is I don’t want to do this but it’s you know what I’ll do it it was actually um I want to say in the history of your show Pat my Jordan spe like career trajectory call might be my most like on the nose thing I ever said in the history of football golf anything um and now I feel like Jordan spe is hitting this is more overrated than like 2015 Ricky Fowler continue I’m just trying to think of who’s the most overrated golfer we ever encountered like in any moment even if it was a good golfer I think like it’s hard to argue that it’s someone other than like mid2 Ricky Fowlers my like I I agree with you because I even the point that we were making in 2015 and 2016 was Hideki was a better player than Fowler but because Hideki didn’t speak English and wear I mean he does wear the super bright colors now he wasn’t wearing the the highlighter markers at the time but Ricky was and just Ricky was a fan favorite so he was half the odds of AI every week which made no sense um that’s all I didn’t I didn’t mean to turn this into anything on um on speed but I get it like people love him he’s marketable like he’s still one of the faces of the tour uh you do what he did like there’s people when you like when speed did what he did it wasn’t us like watching golf for the first time kind of and I could imagine to people who were watching golf like those are almost their first memories of golf is like some vague vague tiger stuff from before that you know with their dads and uncles but this speed stuff was like their first memories of like truly betting or watching golf like that’s got Equity that you’ll never take away and you know and I could see why you know that rolls hard for some people um I don’t really I apologize for getting even more off track but and I know like this is all about betting but I can’t do this without having a small discussion on Rory and you know it’s the first time we’ve seen him and yes like when we recorded the morning of the Travelers I thought he’d be there like not in terms of talking about bedding but I thought like he walked away from the media he deserves his to give he deserved to he he’s a he didn’t know us anything and he’ll just talk to us with with all the time we need at the Travelers and obviously he got golf sad and he bailed on The Travelers and he’s here and I imagine there’s going to be a he’s going to have to give the Full Throttle you know he’s going to have to spend more time at a Podium than the American people want out of Joe Biden who think you know who for a one-on-one not a one-on-one like a gaggle you know that’s what the people are asking for Rory’s going to deliver it I think it’s a comfortable it’s a comfortable setting for him because I went back and watched all last year’s tournament and even though I mean yes the crowd was around Bobby Mack being Scottish and trying to win the Scottish open but people were still cheering on Rory when he won too like Rory Bobby Mack is the hometown guy but Rory is the Superstar over there yeah and I was upset and I was upset that Rory left The Travelers almost not so much to do with the Uso the US Open but because as I stated why I thought he’d be at The Travelers was because you know that elevated schedule the format the no cut events it piggybacking Majors is truly of the design of of Rory mroy and friends so that was my criticism all that being said I remember our friend Eric Patterson wrote an article the next day or day or two later which I totally age with Rory owes us [ __ ] nothing he doesn’t owe anyone anything he’s given everyone everything uh in my opinion and maybe I’m a true apologist in that regard and I get it’s so polarizing because last week baa three putts from 30 feet and he is just honest and forthright and gives the media all his time and and talked about how that hurts and the media are like oh you see like why couldn’t Rory do that and on the surface that’s true but I think it’s really unfair because I like there’s no Scar Tissue with that three putt from 30 feet you know Rory when Rory gas canned it at the Masters before he won anything else there was no Scar Tissue there and he picked it up quickly and he got on his roll now it just kind of feel watching Rory go for five kind of feels the same way as like trying to get Sergio number one um and I think he’s going to play amazing this week and it’ll turn up that machine again next week and well I won’t be a part of it betting I truly hope he can answer the Bell unless it’s against the guy I bet on that’s always been my my thing with Rory like I don’t recall the last time I bet on him at a major it’s been a decade maybe so I I’ve really dodged that Bol not that I’m hitting other winners at major championships but I will be happy when he wins I don’t win at major championships anyway so might as well see Rory win I just want I mean I just kind of prefer he wins the Masters at some point soon and then we can just not talk about it anymore I totally um would agree with that sentiment and I’ve bet Rory the last two times I’ve bet Rory in the majors they were both second places one was fake cuz he like held out in that bunker at Augusta to get like a T2 on the Scotty first win I think it was MH and then obviously you know a month ago that was just such a [ __ ] kick in the nuts but so to the to the mid- tier options at the Scottish open in full disclosure while you were ranting about Rory I bet Tommy Fleetwood at 25 to1 so I’m in with you let’s go Tommy this week the mid tier not America like you said it’s not America that’s really just the cas he’s played well here it’s not America even in Canada he can come to Canada and and you know tease you to think he can do it but not do it so everywhere Middle East everywhere just not not Mainland USA three names stick out to me I bet Aaron Riot 55 to1 again he’s a former winner here he actually had his he came seventh with the John Deere it was actually his worst tournament in some time but he gained almost nine Strokes putting for a guy who can’t putt he’s starting to pile up the good putting weeks but it was the first time he gained fewer than four strokes T to Green in three months he only gained 2.8 so the driving was off the approach was off the chipping was off but the putter really did bail him out but we did see that kind of revert a little bit on Sunday until very late the approaches were off on Sunday a lot of that was just a bad Sunday from him but I just thought those odds were pretty good like I I think that I don’t know if he’s better than minwoo I think minwoo’s upside is much higher but I think at this present time that rye is playing better golf so I’m not going to miss out on Ry uh at it’s probably unfair odds but it’s still good enough uh so he’s 45 you can get him up to 55 in some places right now so there’s him I thought siah’s number was kind of wild like you can get him as high as 50 at the moment like if this was a month ago he would have been 20 to1 yeah that’s fair I think you always even for these good young players Pat or American players I feel like you always get a bump when we come here uh if they haven’t shown a any sort of um linkx golf performance or any kind or or some might not even have any experience we all know the morawa situation of a couple years ago but also what happened like there were bumps involved and by bumps I mean odds bumps so that’s how I would look at that I would say I know you bet him to win next week so I would absolutely just get on him sure but when he he came second at the rocket mortgage he came second at Honda and then the other non-elevated events he played 24th at Colonial 24th at the Bunny Ranch Miss the cut at valpar those are his three other ones we take a look at Aaron Ry and what he’s been up to he was I mean Aaron Ry just beat minmo at the US Open for one thing to take a look at it and he came 7th 2nd 19th 14th and he’s gaining these Strokes T to Green every single week and it’s mainly from driving an approach play his putter just could not catch up and is starting to catch up for him they’re complet two completely different styles of players this we know it’s going to be bomb and gouge season for minwu whose irons are tracking to be a little bit better right now which is what he needs to be in the upper crust because his driving is so Elite but at a course where he’s won before they both won at this course before I’ll take the guy who’s just riding it in better form right now who’s starting to ride a hot putter at the same time back on these Fescue surfaces that he likes a lot and you’re getting basically double the number like I acknowledge that MMO was a better player but at this present time they’re about even I you put it that way like sure I just even if R like it’s marginal I think Mar Ry is playing marginally better and I mino’s ceiling is higher but the odds Point sure I don’t think I’m actually going to bet either of them I’m certainly not going to bet Aaron Ry when it comes to a guy like that um I’ve never chased it I’ve never tried it my tried and true line with that would be I’ve got my own losers to like B on really and he is Aon R is one of the losers that I really like but just even to put this into some context the most Strokes that minwoo has gained on approach since the PLAYERS Championship is 1.8 for a tournament and he’s still playing pretty good he’s playing all right so yeah but he just doesn’t Spike he spikes off the tea he’s gain gained almost six off the tea at the US Open so he can overp power a place and make a ton of putts there is that path for him but unless he just has a really big outlier week with his irons it’s going to be tough to win where when you take a look at when you take a look at Aaron Ry over his past five tournaments he’s averaging 3.2 Strokes on approach he’s averaging 2.2 off the te like he just doesn’t get himself into a ton of trouble but this might end up working out to minwoo’s Advantage because I just looked at the weather they’re basically not going to get any practice in cuz Tuesday and Wednesday just full rain all day and then we take a look at Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday right now it’s going to rain into Saturday or into Thursday morning and then stop the winds are down basically all week I’m using the windfinder tower at derlon uh which is the closest one to the course in North Berwick but there’s very limited wind all week as of right now we know can always crop up there wasn’t supposed to be a ton of wind Sunday last year and Gus got up to 40 miles per hour the thing that I would like about Aaron Ry why I think this might favor the Brits and potentially even Canadians for that matter it’s going to be like 15 Celsius the entire week there it’s going to be you’re going to see guys in tkes put it that way well that’s bad that’s bad for a bunch of them yeah um I I’ll give you this as it pertains to Rye all these guys are looking at the Grid at 50 to one and it includes like hom and spe at 55 even Harmon at 55 I would rather bet Aaron Ry than everyone that seem like the world ranking stuff put in the top 2024 events with world rankings points like strength of field the PGA Championship was the highest the Open Championship is projected to be the second highest the players was thir the US Open was fourth the Scottish open is fifth it’s ahead of the M incredible but that’s unfair because the live guys basically don’t have world rankings points anymore so the the majors are getting hurt because of that oh yeah that also makes um sense also worth noting in defense of live the system is so [ __ ] broken if Tom Kim needs to be a sponsor’s invite yeah I don’t I I think I think that there is a very specific market for the champions tour and it’s just not anyone we know because we’re not that old yet you’ll never like here’s the thing here’s the thing with golf like they’re all playing at the same time all the time but as long as the big boys are playing which they do every week nothing else [ __ ] matters none of it nothing it just suffocates the life out of the entire ecosystem and I assure you this is not a comment to be like make room for live in the ecosystem it’s more like in some ways let you know senior Majors breathe let women’s Majors breathe let usms breathe no one wants to watch this but the thing is you’re lumping champions tour in like people are lining up to watch the [ __ ] LPGA give me a break no I’m not I don’t think anyone polarizing well the funniest thing about the cus comments about Bland how this should be a really big deal and the only reason that it isn’t is because he’s on live he’s like when was the last time that anyone won back-to-back Majors like Stricker did it two years ago and no one [ __ ] cared yeah Langer’s probably done it seven times Langer at one point won five of seven senior majors and no one you don’t seem to understand that there’s a part of this deal that goes to different courses and keeping different parts of the country happy with events testing out different venues and this is just near the lead then falls back out of it but on Thursday he might be the look that I want to go to so I’m going Tommy 25 to1 Rye 55 to1 Hollywood hogi 90 to1 with eight places after that I got like Fox Jordan Smith uh wacky vami those are the three and they’re all from 100 to 225 on Liv the only guy that I’m in on right now is John catw one 80 to1 with three places thinking about Louis thinking about Neeman we’ll Circle back around to see where I actually get my money in then you’ve bet Rico H for me at 75 to1 I bet on Joel Damon at 55 to1 and I’m going to bet Nick Hardy at 65 to1 for the process I have to lie in a store for like 55 seconds on a bed like it’s the most awkward thing in the world put the game on let me get drunk let me smoke a fatty let’s recreate this situation I’m just supposed to know like I don’t like this I don’t know what people are supposed to do another thing comes to my attention these bed salesmen it’s like a car dealership you can negotiate oh yeah I’m an idiot I used to work at a mattress store oh yeah I didn’t like to like okay call me stupid call me like I live in a bubble I get it cars you can negotiate like I don’t walk in a golf town a big box store and be like let’s negotiate things go on on sale I don’t walk in a Best Buy and like try to haggle because you you you don’t but mattress places much like car places are commission-based businesses anytime you have a commission-based business you can haggle with whatever you want so like we get out of there my wife is pissed like you’re not supposed to say I could get whatever but like you’re not supposed to let them know these things and I’m like I didn’t know this was psychological warfare it’s psychological War Warfare because my wife is is consciously subconsciously trying to get me into the bed that she wants which is totally fair while I’m also supposed to be playing um psychological warfare with a Salesman it sounds like you shouldn’t go to this my my wife and I figured this out very early and it sounds like I’m not included in the bed you’re the are you going to get the pick that you want anyway no so why even go okay and and here’s the thing unless the bed is like broken or insanely like super like like the most softest bed ever it won’t be a problem for me I sleep anywhere but a car or or a plane I I can’t really sleep but any bed unless it’s broken or the softest bed in the world I’m good but my wife doesn’t like I’ve been using the I don’t NOS like I don’t know I gotta I’m I’m supposed to like help make decisions so I don’t know that I cannot be included but the concept and then Pat like we’re lying on this nice bed you know she wants me to try the nice bed you know where the nice bed is the nice bed is in the front [ __ ] window on Young Street like how am I supposed to get comfortable when like the world is like walking by me lying in a bed in a store I don’t know I don’t know what the solution is because you know it’s not like something you can buy and then return while you could return it like that it’s such a hassle it’s the freaking the bed so I don’t know what I’m not normal and maybe I’m being insane here but what do normal people do I I think weirdly enough it’s almost like a car in a weird way because like you kind of mentioned that I took my car out for a test drive I really liked it and like a month later I was like I don’t really like this but what the [ __ ] can I do now nothing I bought this mattress when we moved into our new house when we moved back to Helifax it was the first time I had bought like a really nice mattress I don’t like it my wife doesn’t like it what are we gonna do spent three [ __ ] Grand on a mattress and like neither of us like it I got sponsored there there used to be a midr that ran on this podcast from Casper mattresses and they like made me fill out a survey like three years ago and I just put in like all the details that I wanted on Casper mattresses like what do you like in a bed I just filled it all out my son sleeps on that bed right now and like I don’t mind Hey like if he’s having like a a night terror or something I’ll go and sleep with him it is customized for me I [ __ ] love his bed it is geared for what I like but I like a soft bed my wife likes a hard bed we don’t want to get one of those like old people ones where like it’s half one way and half the other so you’re kind of [ __ ] with the mattress just find one that’s like somewhere in the middle that you can get a good night’s sleep in and that’s going to be that yeah I guess and then my wife you know like guys you know like it’s not a secret like I like to smoke my wife wouldn’t be with me if she like truly detested the fact that I like to smoke weed she was so [ __ ] mad that I smoked weed before we went in to do the mattress and I’m like firstly I’m so uncomfortable in this store pad like there’s other people shopping there’s walking by the window like like get comfortable you know you’re going to spend onethird of your life on this thing get comfortable how do you get comfortable like I I don’t know like it’s such a [ __ ] I I I have what you need to do so you go into the mattress store and you try to figure out which mattress that you want to try out go to the bathroom have a beat come back you always be super relaxed is and then I really thought maybe I should save this conversation for Tim but I don’t think Tim Tim Tim is the same guy that started sleeping in his recliner cuz he thought it was more aerodynamically sound for his back that he couldn’t walk for two weeks exactly I thought you know what like I love Tim I love his takes but I don’t need an insane person’s opinion here I’m looking for what normal people do in this situation um yeah so I was
