straight into the action here in the final round of the Genesis Scottish open feature groups with a pair of Marcel seam and Justin Thomas kicking off the coverage little bit of a concerned look but it’s okay on the te from the USA Justin Thomas shot 62 in the first round two-time major champion in Justin Thomas down with our starter in alist Scott it’s been a little bit of a different story though the last two days rounds of uh two overpast 72 and 71 for Justin Thomas see what he can do here on Sunday it’s been a real mixed bag down the right and that two is fine this week we’re in the East next week in the West for what is a dream run of the the season on both PGA Tour and DP world tours here in the land of the saltire this is where our story began Scotland the plot Upon A Shore an allegiance was formed Golf and the links but is this new companion friend or fool you see the wind here as a local dialect learn the language or fall at its Peril all right into the gor Bush only the brave can conquer this land and reap its rewards Legends Edge their name into history truly Sensational shots that are for the Chosen Few only hidden deep in these roots are the tals of old Scottish open Champion is Ian Wood yet within the grass you’ll find Challengers of new seeking to State their clim he’s got it and the Scottish open has its youngest winner and walk these Fairways just like the grades before them but still the script is unpredictable the script isn’t fair Heroes rise as hard as they fall you see this is Golf Country this is Scotland and the best part of this story there is no final scene the script continues it’s time of the next chapter in our story this is the Rolex series it’s time for the Genesis Scottish or it’s golf like no other it’s golf the way it was always meant to be played and we’re very happy to be calling Scotland home for the next fortnite chiseled down to the next eight days Tony Johnston good morning Ali good morning everybody tuning in we’re going to have some fun we really ask both for Choice with the strength of field Tony in terms of who we got to pick for our feature groups and it’s been tough hasn’t it because in every group there’s at least one person you want to watch a lot of them in two so how would that be this and we will be seeing this is set up Victor hland later on in the day playing with yungan Lee of Korea we’ll concentrate on these cars for a while L it quite a long way back Justin Thomas didn’t want to mess with that yawning bunker can’t blame him either tugged it a bit it will feed away down the slope quite an awkward little approach up from there over a over a little Ridge yeah that could be a little gnarly and out strolling the fairways with these two this morning is Richard boxal for us morning boxy yes good day you all 173 yards from Marcel you won’t miss him today in this outfit even his caddy and sort of crushed strawberry not overly en numbered with the strike nor the result you’re on a carbon copy well I know one person who’s happy about that it’s Justin Thomas cuz he’s going to get a preview of what he has to do his outfits always match his personality don’t they myself colorful bright Lively the sun has decided to uh join us in dashes this morning which is always a welcome site it is the fifth the second of five Rolex series events it is the first of the closing swing the last of five swings before we get into the back nine and the playoffs in our new look TP World Tour schedule fidra in the distance it really is quite a magical place along this Coastline known as Scotland’s Golf Coast end up going and there is the leaderboard going into Sunday it is a two-shot advantage to ludig oberg over the man that was in second place 12 months ago Robert McIntyre who says he’s trying his best not to get too hyped up not to get too high given he said that this is the one he wants to win outside of the majors he’s been out there for a long time Victor hin started off with his coach working on his his wedge players pitching was right there right City what a joy it was to see Marcel SE when the Italian Open a couple of weeks ago had serious hip surgery earlier in the year yeah you never know how you’re going to come back from surgery do you come back better do you come back a lot worse we’ve seen that happen too but uh he wears his heart on his sleeve extremely popular on T straight shooter calls it as it is and if you don’t like Marcel see I would go never look in the mirror and think what the heck is wrong with me yeah he’s a good lad isn’t he Marcel you know I had to go all the way back to challenge tour he had four I think he’d had three or four wins but then he had to go back to challenge tour and I got full respect really for somebody that’s gone back and done that it’s very difficult to go from the main tour and the challenge tour Keep Your Enthusiasm going but he said to me he said you know I just thought to myself you know just because I’ve won those I don’t have any god-given right why I should be on the main tour so full credit he went back and worked as hard as possible this is where he is so little ego with him foxy yeah no he’s he’s good lad Al he really is what’s he here out with the old bread and butter the pter it’ll there’s a hump just short I’ll I’ll tell you when he gets to it left to right to start with and then it’ll go right to left here oh oh 9.99 excellent effort hard to gauge the pace on those Through The Fringe up a big slope down the other side we very nearly had our first highlight of the day about four rolls short well there’s our highlight he’s right in front of us a walking highlighter in more ways than one like we’ve said I imagine yep Justin Thomas going for the same approach yeah has to it’s a little early to get the old uh Lage out or you could pitch and run this but P’s going to get it closer than anything else same line as Marcel it’ll be up over this lump this sort of buried elephant that’s at the front of this green just here swing it from right to left and down towards the hole he must have felt so good after that opening round of 62 you know open up a tournament when you love lyx golf and you think oh hang on things are turning around this is going to be the week this is going to be the week and then he’s followed that with rounds of two over pass 72 one over pass 71 we could be unbelievably disappointed yes started the day at -5 and it was -4 for Marcel seam so just a shot the difference as they teed off this was a part of his game on Thursday that he said was rock solid two major wins under the belt it’s funny after the 92 USP Championship he really went off the boil almost like he forgot to reset his his goals well done so while we’ve got a moment why don’t we uh walk you through the first three rounds of Justin Thomas like we were saying everything was going right on Thursday got the break here down the 7th at this stage he was already three under toart from an awkward stance balance compromised comes up with that and everything was just everything was just flowing along so well shot it to 10 third shot on the PA five easy birdie and that was his sixth of the day through 10 holes then this at 12 amazing his longest part in the last 2 years we heard on the PGA tour about 42 ft of it and right in the heart and then at the signature hole 13th wonderful little power four finds the Fairway and just absolutely Nails it it was only one shot of equaling the the course record 61 62 in the end then into day two I mean What A Difference A Day Makes after round one if you’d said to me that he’d be teeing off early on Sunday I would have thought you were a lunatic and the erors kept on compounding that was at 15 after just dropping a shot at 14 the previous all he had was gone the magic wasn’t in the hands anymore it is remarkable how quickly it can leave you there are a few consolations amongst it that birdie at 18 for 72 yeah and some it’s it’s sort of it’s unquantifiable isn’t it what what’s gone wrong overnight you know I’m the same person swing hasn’t changed brain hasn’t changed but it’s all gone wrong marel seem’s already been and he’s split the Fairway here 493 yards Breeze is a little different today it’s a little more down off the right hand side rather than straight across and that’s two pretty good t- shots there makes a big difference when it’s down off the right this hor tough hole does that mean it’ll be uh giving them a little help down the fifth as well Richard that’ll means I’d say looking at the breeze right now it be straight down win the fifth yeah same two probably of 16 but we’ve seen the wind shift a little bit throughout the week fidra iseland it’s an rspb Scotland bird sanctuary stunning little spot isn’t it uninhabited now that uh Lighthouse was the first automated lious of the Scottish Coast from 1870 believe it or not and it’s quite amazing let’s take a look uh while we’ve got a moment through the pin positions we’ve just seen the one at the First on this front nine yeah they’ve got some interesting ones second hole tucked up back right corner not too much danger involved in that just thankfully because it’s a beast of a hole third hole up in the back left there that’s on a little Plateau that’s only about maximum seven yds wide you miss it left it’s off the green that pot bunker on the right no thank you stay away stay away I think we’re going to see a lot of people parting from that back left Edge today at three up to four yeah another very very attackable pin up the back right flattish area and expect a lot of birdies there today you’re doing very well with your yardage book over there Tony flipping through the pages Pages can you believe it I’ve learned fo all driveable par for flag up sort of on again a little Plateau between two slopes left and right then we March past the clubhouse to the stadium Hall the six and it’s on the front again yeah my favorite hole on the course this I mean that that area there is 11 yd wide looks bigger on our graphic but expect guys to knock it past the flag and be safe it’s only a wedge but it has its dangers they’ve tucked it away certainly down the seventh probably one of the spots on the green that’s more difficult to access 11 on four off the right and then the eighth way back 41 yds on the greens 48 yds long Believe It or Not Just eight off the right and there’s a little drop off on the right side of that flag you miss a right it’ll feed right off the green so don’t get too cute and then to the par three nth P all the way they’re just tempting players over towards those right bunkers anything short right will get grabbed by one of them could see some interesting stances there today so there is the second flag 28 on five off the right and our first pair down doing the numbers I’m sure our Richard boxel is as well he’s very quick on those little slow Off the Mark though I was trying to talk them 166 he’s got to the flag as you talking Ali 28 on five from the right back right pin now just looking at this Breeze here I think he could get a just a nice eight time there for so if you cut this from left to right it’ll it’ll stall in the air a little bit because you’re fighting against the right to left Breeze if you do it the other way you’ll hit it further if you draw it in right left but not quite as much stop so that’s two options really as I see it I think I cut cut an a IR in here first is he yeah he’s just flipped it over through impact closes the face delocks the club it’s going to always come out long and left and that’s two identical ones to open up bizarre isn’t it there’s a joh Juan he’ll enjoy being out with Victor hland afforded a place in the field as one of 3K PGA Korean PGA players came on over had a good year to started strong third third second and fourth orbe it without a victory thus far 160 for Justin Thomas yeah just a little nearer again I think it’s the same Club C green is slightly raised here only very slightly anything short will spin back down to the front of the green so pitch it on that top level is is your shot he wants from here for Justus in Thoms oh my goodness has he done the same thing yeah pretty much both of them played just about identical shots on both of the two opening holes won’t take much to sort that though they’ll they’ll tweak it our destination for the sixth time in a row the Renaissance club and our home for the next two weeks is one of the prettiest countries in the world we’re just outside of North baric over in Scotland’s East there is so much to see and do and so much to stumble on around this uh beautiful country great place to drive along otherwise you you might just miss something special golf obviously huge here the City of Edinburgh the Edinburgh Castle that watches over everything but there’s 400 courses situated in Scotland within an hour of a city or an airport so it is there for the masses and boy do they love it till sunrise to sunset that comes about 10: p.m. here each night there’s people out on all the golf courses in the region there’s 22 of them along this Coastline as rugged and beautiful as it is the birds flying over fidra there’s four uh islands along this way bass rock as well used to be Scotland’s Alcatraz used to have a a prison out there there’s an island called the lamb unsure of the story there but it’s just beautiful the way that they kind of frame the coastline as do the golf courses along it Tony yeah boxy I have a question for you Marcel Sim dear the first two iron shots both sort of shut the face pull drawers but that’s better than if your first two opening t- shots one is a flush left and the other ones are skank right cuz then you start thinking straight away oh no what’s gone wrong here at least he this would have happened him before he’ll have a fix in mind won’t he oh yeah it won’t listen it only take you know it just takes one shot and you’re back to you’re back to normal again but what was your question to me that was it would was it is is it is it better to have hit the same bad shot twice or a variety of bad shots well here’s a question to you as I’ve answered that one is it better to hold from 10 ft for a par or Miss from 3 ft for a birdie hold from 10 ft for a par early on correct I didn’t even have to find a friend no now this one is going to have to pitch this into the bank short and r a decent first skip forward there and down it comes towards the hole there’s always going to kick a little right has to be said but that’s chance he’s got a chance of making his four well you were talking about 10 Footers for a you tempted fate Mr boxell you tempted fate yeah but as you well know Tony it’s not always the um it’s not always the birdie parts that keep rounds going is it so a very very true back over to hland on the Range these guys are out of contention really so this is an opportunity for them to to work on your game for next week for the Open Championship get things sharp just you know do a little bit of tin in yeah the rough’s a little bit thicker there uh Tony at true that is for sure it’s up very high not a great deal in this P for Thomas for is three gave it a good run it’s going to be par at one par at two for Justin Thomas similar look the second and the fifth the ladder much easier of course the short PA four had about what 21 players or so through uh this Hall already no birdies such an animated player it’s only the second hole but if he holds this for power I’m already expecting a fist pump well it’s payday isn’t it Tony today it just seems a little different always on a Sunday yeah you know you miss him on a Saturday if you make the cut you miss them on the Saturday on the Thursday Friday you can sort of cope a lot better than that but I don’t know why it’s a mental thing it won’t be for every goer like that but it was for me cuzz money wasn’t everything but it was right up there with oxygen that was quickly left yeah I know they talk about Saturdays is being moving day no Sunday’s moving day that’s they pay you after Sunday and you throw in a 62 today you’ve quadruple your check that is a bogy though the first one of the day for marel same some consolation perhaps what’s coming next an opportunity Tony yeah first of only three power FS on this course that left hand bunker just it’s like a black hole you see that little Hollow to the right of it it just draws everything into it if it’s anywhere near so you want to hit it inside the tree line down the right just inside the tree line with a little fade find the Fairway and then it’s very reachable you hit the Fairway You’re Expecting birdie at worst and eventually an eagle you have a look at that flag that Graphics a it’s a good indicator the narrowest little shelf back right there where the flag is I can’t imagine there have been too many rake marks in that that Center back bunker uh throughout the week there’ll be some to today nice chance for Marcel to bounce back immediately to always I always preferred it when if I had had a bogey or threw a shot away to follow with a par five it was such a good chance to just get even with a course boxy now Tony this is the I heard you talking about birdies and Eagles and everything it’s just out here today it’s a little different it’s just hurting slightly off the tea here for your t- shot you got a bunker at 300 down the left which don’t think they’ll be reaching that today into this Breeze and that certainly makes the t-shell a little easier you can just get up and give it a hit but don’t H right right o there’s a little mini Forest out there oh I heard it there’s two people jumping about down there yeah that was a nice little you have it version of River Dance there by that gentleman she said yeah I’ve got it it’s stuck in my shin so Marcel don’t want to be going down there I think Justin’s going to be all right not all right to knock it on in two but he’ll get it back on The Fairway Marcel who won’t be happy with that drop shot on the last from the perfect Drive needs to get this one away here it’s been a strange wind this week prevailing with this rest to Southwest of the Atlantic this is being norly to northeasterly the exact opposite and you know this golf course will have been designed with the prevailing win in mind so it’s been a different game plan and that’s a super t- shot from the German it’s been a a different kind of year for Victor hland after the Sparks that flew in the 2023 season which will be a tough one to beat throughout the rest of his career when he took it all right at the finish at the FedEx Cup basically my best golf the last two weeks and The Game Plan before it start in today was kind of middle of the green make a lot of pars and make Xander kind of get after it which which he did early so I kind of had to change my game plan a little bit look at that pitch Mark’s no more than four or five inches away from the h i was very happy that I didn’t make a bogey and obviously I was staring at five on 14 there and when that pop went in that was that was um just huge for momentum massive massive M and after that I just really relaxed couldn’t have happened at a better moment and the Norwegian comes of agent East Lake he’s the f x Champion it really was quite a remarkable season the Memorial tournament win and then slam the door shut with the BMW Championship and the Tour Championship but now he’s 50th no in the FedEx Cup standings you can see over on the right they were working very hard on this range shot earlier in the day two before the practice the beginning of the practice session talking about rotation of the right forearm and strength of grip and I listened in for five minutes and I was utterly confused 9 public golf course always looking to improve these guys no matter how good they are they’re looking for that little extra Edge it’s impressive all those SES down there are amazing that’s the voice of uh of Shay n the Australian on the back talking about the sand belt and he’s right what an amazing stretch of golf courses that is down in Melbourne it’s not so favorable over where Justin Thomas’s however that was some thick grass with a flushed drive there ear 312 to go now marel seem’s got 312 here the flag he’s going to go first out with his three-wood don’t want to hke it left there’s a bunker left there’s a bunker down on the right but with the breeze into off the left I can’t believe he can reach he may have St me they do know days the only way he’s going to do that is to get this ultra low and chasing that’s miles right watch out somehow managed to find the 5 yards between that horrid bunker that’s no fun today to where the flag is and the longer grass see the J Thomas has got a he’s got a good light here it’s actually sitting up might not look like it from that RF camera you’ve got there but it’s perched up there’s a few little blades of grass around it but he you can see he’s got a bit of getting a wood to it there is that pine tree in front of him he’s got to aim it left over a bunker down the left hand side and move it from left to right what he’s his only concern here is he doesn’t get that shape of left to right on it and it goes hurdling over into the thick stuff down the left so got to move this from left to right there was indecision about which metal would to use because of the grass 5 yards in front of him he wants to make sure he gets it up over the fluffy heads oh which he’s done that sounded like a great strike but you you’re not going to be able to shape it out of that longer grass it’s just about impossible with a bwood there’s much grooving on the face of them and that has headed out way left who saw it come on somebody come on somebody find it hopefully so there is the first page of the leaderboard here in the final round of the Genesis Scottish open it is the final run to the open as well with three spots up for grabs for those who made the cup that are yet to qualify and that is Antoine Rosner Eric van royant and then there’s a host of players at minus 10 in that Bunch dreaming of punching their ticket to Royal TR Cam Davis Max kefir Yugo kuso amongst others after his runnerup finish in Qatar it’s a pleasure to have your company here with us in the morning on feature groups we’ll uh roll through couple more numbers Victor Perez he loves a Rolex series event he already has a gold star next to his name that came at the start of last season he been consistent this week 68 6668 and in that group at eight under par there is Victor hovland who will be out in about 15 minutes time we’ll look forward to watching he and jungan Lee out there today on the same number as Tom Kim who somehow is outside the top 10 around here wasn’t for the first two editions a third and a sixth place when he fell in love with link style golf it’s almost almost Tony kind of a a half step towards next week in terms of uh I guess the challenge of of lynx here this week yeah for sure you know these guys particularly the guys from the PJ tour they only get to do it once a year at the open so yeah great idea come over here get the feel of little bump and runs feel of the turf you know how the greens react the greens are a lot slower than the PJ to you’d be silly not to come over it’s a Prelude and it’s a fabulous leaderboard oberg McIntyre Adam Scott tucked in three shots off the lead as well not to mention mroy who’s five shots back looks as though we’ve got eyes on it down there for Justin Thomas how do these guys keep finding the walkway the crowd walkway between two strips of near High Grass sorry guys we get the other what a break that is that could have just been lethal that could have been a hack out boxy no you’re right there Tony they you got a th000 balls in us I want you to hit it here on this walkway yeah were you that were you as lucky as that when you played boxy no that’s why I’m here you did win the fifth major though box well there is that the Italian Open and so is Marcel scene now no but he’s really got lucky there cuz this grass that’s about 18 in 2 ft thick about 3T from his ball I think it’s going to be Marcel to go first though got a load of green to work with here I would expect this one to be no further than 10 ft when he hits this it’s not that difficult to shot this that is poor very poor yeah I’m amazed at that I think he could have played that with at least two clubs less Loft comfortably bump it on the front with a little pitching wedge or 9 box and Chase all the way up there you’re pitching back into the breeze as well I mean I saw that as a as you know the square get a wedge Square the club face up off the back foot and pitch and run it in when he was playing that with an open Club face but listen he’s playing here at 300 power I’m not yeah but that’s because you’re 143 years old boxy and I’m older than you that’s also true but that’s exactly why boxy this week is so important isn’t it as a precursor to the Open Championship because that’ll just jog your memory and it’ll stick with you next week when it’s needed it will yeah now he’s on a bit of a Downs slope here Jus in Thomas but he had two Club out which is good he’s thinking about it he’s got a huge great swell in front of him front of the hole here so he’s got to play this as a pitch and run got a bit of shaft lean going here off the back foot looks more like it I still think that’s too high it’s not getting up that slow I just don’t believe that I know there’s a bunker at the back Tony and all that you know you got to get that you got to be pitching that running like a putter you know you got to pitch it about 6 feet 5T short of the green and get it running out agreed you’ll get no argument from me there boxy I 100% agree with you where his ball is I reckon 80% of the field will be there today at some point after that slope oh isn’t that just glorious that is a stretch right along the beach of uh 12 12 13 14 15 not over that way let’s have a look at the uh early holes playing under par so 3 4 5 6 generally a more attackable stretch we’ve seen that come into fruition that’s throughout the week three of them currently under par six slightly over at the moment yeah it’s definitely a scoring segment isn’t it you want to be under par after six that’s for sure well it’s an outside chance this one for Marcel downhill right to left but it’s looking like they’re both going to walk off with the five here good crowds out here yeah a nice nice support and nice put that’s all he wanted with only three power FS the absolute last thing you want to do is make a six on any of them 3 fours is your plan before you go out at the start of the day six uh uh so from down in the Dell now Justin Thomas yes he’s pting quite a bit uphill this is the the little slope he needed to get up got the pin back left here on a little Plateau it’s quite dangerous I heard you talking early about that bunker over the back she will get some used today for sure up it goes up here oh doesn’t hit that does he why is he oh you’re kidding me you spring at the end Tony I don’t know must have hit down on that boxy I mean you you just can’t believe that can you with the guy with his touch no I mean you’ve been miles out there I don’t know cuz I’m not close enough for he caught it out the heel on the toe of the club but that was we’re having another look at it no stroke look good stay down through impact box here and just just a feeble effort I mean that is oh it’s a confidence Destroyer bizarre take two I wouldn’t mind betting this goes past the hole I may be wrong hit it has it again is it no I mean my word I mean I I’m obviously a bit off the green how far short is that at least at least 4 ft maybe even more with a camera angle not looking happy looks like he’s just sucked on a lemon I don’t blame him after those two bats my goodness sucked on 11 That’s good I’ve that before for a bogey we’ve just talked about not making Sixers on these power fs and it’s not in yet oh talk about about deflation and it’s the embarrassment that first part I mean it’s the sense of embarrassment you just you just hope everybody has a an instant memory failure yeah there’s three parts and then there’s that that’s a different category is for a par for Marcel scene they neither make the birdie after getting good breaks with their second shots you know Marcel was very fortunate to have a clear Avenue into that little back here as narrow as it is I always wonder what the caddy thinks when you hit a putt like that don’t get it up the ridge when you look up they normally looking the other way cuz they don’t want you to see their eyes cuz their eyes are saying you idiot and you have to agree forthal let’s move along let’s forget the bad stuff give us some good stuff short Par Four driver not essential there are two bunkers up the right one up the the left there’s one a long way down at 325 we’ve seen a lot of guys take this on with drive and to be honest it really isn’t necessary because if you lay up to about 250 you’re going in with a little wedge either way you’re going to have a chance to attack feels like it’s all we’ve seen L oberg do still yet to play in open it’s it’s hard to wrap your head around the career he’s already had it would make quite a resume he’s already won on the DP World Tour up in the mountains of cron he’s won on the PGA tour he’s played a rder cup and uh he leads after 6464 and 65 can anyone catch him you know that Robert McIntyre will have the crowd with him out there today and we’ve got the definitive version now haven’t we Jamie Spence asked him yesterday how he would like his name pronounced cuz I saw a little clip on Twitter a while ago and my Norwegian not good but they would pronounce it and I’ll have a go at this erber bberry it was something like bberry and I thought well pass on that but he wants it pronounced as oberg bit like r i mean and everybody messed it up and it used to drive him insane and he said my name’s gusen my I want to be gusen and we followed orders you’re making this look very easy Tony nailed both of those down to four less than driver for yeah just a three-w here not needed got to avoid the bunkers otherwise you’re not knocking it on in two on the short file for now they’re clapping down there on the te yes perfect ideal t- good crowds out here today but here’s a question for for you for your Tony I don’t good crowds and there’s a there’s people out here with a push chair I don’t really see that as a day out well you know what I understand they’re keing but you just think you got to push that up and down all the humps and Hollows yeah but a lot of these Ms won’t be able to get a lot of time out and exercise I like it and also a lot of these people have heard that you’re out there boxy that what a lot of these people have heard that you’re out there they’re out there to see you I never thought of that they thought you were a rich beam though like the other day well yes I saw them both at breakfast Tim and Rich this morning well as the as the day progresses boxing you’re going to to retell that story for people that weren’t watching yesterday it’s an absolute Belta and a nice t- shot from Justin Thomas he’ll be a little bit his brain will be a little bit addled after that third hole at three put that’s when his cadd Matt Minister might have a word it is a mouthwatering prospect the Sunday ahead of of the Genesis Scottish open so hi the gas been impressive yet again 66 for him uh yesterday has it on a string same too for sunj M who’s been averaging coming into this week he was 44 under for the last eight rounds 5 and a half under par every single one of them if you average it out Tommy Fleetwood in the hunt as well he’s in double digits was a little deflated with uh his finish yesterday naturally double bogey down that final hole it was looking like a 64 scoring’s been excellent thanks to the fact that we’ve had very little wind you get the wind blowing the last round last year when it was really pumping when RoR hit those two magnificent iron shots on 1718 and you can have days here where even par is a great score not long now until Victor hland has the company of Jung Juan Lee both of them all three rounds in the 60s I think back to 12 months ago and Rory melroy who ended up taking it all with that fateful two iron still SE it in all of our memories those that were lucky enough to see it live uh only three players last year shot under par in every single round former Champion here in Min Le taking a couple of steps in the wrong direction out there today the Victor 3 years ago and let’s check in over on the PGA T in Kentucky this week it’s Pearson Cy who is racing through the mall he’s at 20 underpart through just three rounds it is low scoring s BTO in there as well after a 62 so he’s within two shots of the lead Harry Hall so two Englishmen in the top four Johannes verman join them uh 18 underpart so a nice blend really given its co- sanction with the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour this week at the Isco championship game 16 on the te uh and getting ready to go with the familiar character of Alistar Scott standing by tease every single player off in the Rox series he’ll be there from 9:14 this morning till 3:40 this afternoon they all know him but we’re going to get to know jungan Lee out there today hugely popular over in Korea in fact he actually won the popularity award Tony in 2017 oh did he I wonder if that’s like misong geniality for the J it’s been hitting it nicely just hasn’t puted well especially the last two days 32 puts on Friday and Saturday that won’t do you much good but has managed to score around it familiar sense of expectancy on the first the day you don’t have that feeling on the first te you know it’s time to retire because the game doesn’t mean enough to you anymore these kind of opportunities playing with uh the likes of Victor hovin they don’t come around every day either Genesis Korean car company I’m sure he’s very happy to be here this is game number 16 on the tea from Korea Jong Juan Lee had two victories on the Korean PJ tour good player always somehow features in the top 10 on their money list I always love the first T I love the the fact that when you look down at your ball you could just see the trouser legs trembling and it wasn’t nerves it was excitement Adrenaline Rush dying to go it’s a great feeling oh he’s getting Applause but he doesn’t look overly enamored with that down the left H he’s definitely not pleased now on the tea from Norway Victor hofland always a fan favorite both for what he does on the golf course he is the reigning FedEx Cup champion but also how he handles himself off it driver out hasn’t faed well down the first par bogey double bogey thanks for reminding him it’s funny you just get a t- shot that just doesn’t suit your eye and it can play you all week and arm up it’s way left but how far left well we talked about how he’s uh played the first let’s talk about how he’s played the first three rounds and walk you back through them for the Norwegian so this is the t- shot at 14 which was uh his fifth hole of the day played the course the other way round teed off 10 on day one and that would set up birdie number two after already getting one down the 12 at the other PA three third shot at the par five 16th clever little bump and run that would be a birdie then we jump over to to the eigh they picked up one at five and another there made par down the ninth for a round of 67 terrible start on round two and the bogey double bogey but then got it all back together yeah with shots like that had to dig deep though at various times throughout the second round the P was working then at 15 pin high right back up the hill bathed in Sun and dropped right on in stitched it back together three birdies in that stretch of six holes it was a round of 69 in the end what again messed up the First with a double bogy but he got it back quickly one birdie there at the Third and at the ninth sweet t- shot managed to get out an even par then at 16 after a string of six straight cars it came where he thought it would at the par five and on to 17 there was more to come good finish birdie birdie par and a par down 18 He would pay a pretty penny for that wouldn’t they just yeah the last two rounds Back N has been totally different to the front nine back n’s superb let’s go to marel seam come up Shy of the flag at four but it’s still a good chance and in she goes nice plays with a lot of heart Marcel scen well see whether he can follow him in in follow him in I nearly got that out then that was little stumbly wasn’t it no can’t so Marcel SE back to level par back to minus 4 but Justin Thomas will remain over the card for the day for now at least they’ve got a chance coming next in the fifth as well so this is where the ball ended up for Janan Lee down the first trying to work out if by the sound of that clip the lip or not not sure I know it’s come up a long way short did sound like there was a little second dash of audio on the way through this is where the ball of Victor hovland has ended up don’t really see too many players lay back because it leaves you a significant second shot to a flag that requires spin today but he it’s turned out okay gosh that could have been worse turned out great doesn’t if you’re going to go wide go well wide at one avoided that little bunker as well but at least he hasn’t got that Tall Pine Tree in his way Conifer nice lie straightforward shot do you think he’ll use the sideboard at all oh my God just wondering if he’s got a flying line and that has launched on him absolutely come out like a rocket just thought he might use that that kind of sideboard to kill it just in case but we’ll see the next from the back it will be Lively only 308 to the front edge with help today down this fifth hole yes out with the driver Ry he get it down that right side bit of right to left on it he get it trundling up and down and over the Junes and humps and Hollows and make its way to the middle of the green go go well that looks good there’s a bunker down that left side did you see it it looked as though it got past it but it was tough to tell we were looking kind of past it on the left or on the right through the Fescue just to the right of the left bunker well if he’s just to the right of that then he should be virtually on the green Thomas next up he looks very much doesn’t he I don’t know what you to think like he’s just oh get me to next week just sort of going through the motions really think the third grain might have had something to do with that yes it’s really not a great deal of Breeze around now died right down and that’s cutting back onto the flag there we see marel SE did Creep by it straight into it though for Justin Thomas with a little speed too so that could be quite close to the face these are the golf courses along this stretch there’s even more than we’ll show you long entry kill spindy just outside the town of abady craigw gullen mfield which is next door in fact uh collection of holes here that land used to belong to them North baric up in the distance a lot of players go straight there and try and get their mind back in links mode and here we are with the Renaissance Club just across the fence fence from archerfield lyx they’ve hosted uh women’s Scottish opens over the past same two for Renaissance we go back to one with Lee SLE yeah g out of that long stuff it’s just come out spin free it looked like the club face shut down a little on him too grass wrapped around the shaft so that will be coming back for par sun’s out always welcome still pretty chilly when it clouds over a 26y old from Oslo Norway calls Still Water Oklahoma where he went to college home these days and already 6 PJ T WIS under his belt he’s quite some competitor and he’s going to get better once he learns how to chip properly there’ll be very little to hold him back this was always the right choice of Club oh my goodness that’s not just wrong that is very wrong flat bit of Fringe to put over just miss just a flat out misjudgment simple as that it happens so quite a lot left ahead to save the path for Victor hovland only four yards between them but two very different seconds ahead here at the fifth how close is that to the face for we can see it now Thomas close to the face I don’t think I personally don’t think he can go the full distance here he very close he’s got to get it up so quickly on a bit of an up slope it looks like boxy which helps with a lip but it doesn’t help you get it back to the flag does it no I mean getting it out is not a problem it’s just getting the distance that’s the problem anyway he’ll go in there and the pins right at the back he’ll go in there take a full blooded swing with a lob wge here just want to take about half an inch of sand if you can behind it can’t teach people that you can only do it through practice let’s see if we can blast it back there as that come straight back into the splash Mark too by the look of it it’s gone from difficult to horrendous he might not even be able to get the flag from here I won’t be running across to say before you hit this can I have a look at the live please I think he’s going to go out sideways almost yeah just trying to get very little sand with it and got too little it’s gone from bad to worse so on the two holes he’s expecting to be able to attack the third and the fifth making a bit of a mess of both Justin Thomas right now and he hasn’t got an easy two pad in fact it’s a really difficult one Lee it’s going to open with a bogey has every pace of at least 28 ahead of him here Marcel scene yeah he’s just working out what it does at the end there’s a marshall here have you got the line here have you got the line your l on a yes 2 ft to the right as he looks it look I’ll let I’ll let you know can you translate for us boxy for Marcel seams view well he thinks it’s as as you’re looking at an RF camera behind him oh we’re behind the flag yes now we’re behind him okay so he’s the guy in front of me who’s a local said to me it’s 2 ft left as Marcel looks at the hall I saw it was going right to left to start with but where he’s aiming here let’s have a little look I’m standing right behind him here right behind the line a quick word with that Marshall if it all goes wrong well so far so good is it going to come down that slope is it going to come down that slope this Marshall here got it right tell you what you know what you’re talking about yes I I do thank you very much that’s all right what do you play on um 17 I’m Ling I’m 23 I used to be sub but you want to try and improve your driving then cuz your putting is quite good he is through to the next round boxy yes he did well didn’t he that lesson one boxy believe the local y you’re right there he got very excited then I was quite sure he was going to swear or something oh what can Justin Thomas do from over here well he would have had a good look at that alley it’ll move quite a bit left to right at the end but you know he’s ping for a PA this is this is a three hole this really is like a very long PA three for these Lads he’s got his work to cut out just to make the bogey he has yeah he’s kept his turn oh my goodness on a hole that these guys here is an extended par three really a threat of making a six it’s only a few Paces off the green back to one this forar as well from long range from Victor hland it’s a bit scruffy at the moment isn’t it everything we’re watching here it’s a bit uh hit and miss yeah feel’s a little bit like opposite State remember he’s the world number seven was the best player on the PGA tour in season long rankings last year back to Justin Thomas a former world number one no less this for five this dropped just one I would imagine if he gets back to MERS to be nearing the end of the field I would to imagine isn’t he you can almost hear us reaching for our laptops at least that goes in but it is two Drop shots in the last three holes for Justin Thomas and almost out of nowhere both of them so Thomas back to minus three yes it see here to get to minus5 there should be no problem at all be a very good two from the front the green a very good line from the Marshall nicely done that’s how to do it I like to it see took a couple of inches off that long patter so there was no mistake about whether he was anchored or not handed there’s nowhere near the chest I mean sometimes you do Wonder with a few of the players it looks a bit close Lee swishing it away at two with the driver no problems there that’ll be fine it’s less of a swish for Victor Hopland more of a hit Thum is a thump he’s a strong lad isn’t he smiling assassin he’s got a smile on his face but he is one tough competitor left oh that’s why that’s why he was unhappy he knew that was headed into the depths of the bunker now this is just a delight for us little less so sometimes for the players only 129 yards of the sixth hole they’ve done a brilliant job in decking out all of the hospitality down there and there is a Genesis car up for grabs for the first professional they’ll get a Genesis gv60 vehicle as well as having a spectator lined up with each player who could win a trip to the 2024 Genesis career championship in October and they get to sit there on the left position a position B great view cool experience as well they’re going to keep their fingers crossed for Marcel Seaman Justin Thomas to make an ace heard you talking about this ho L 129 Ys where’s this pin today 12 on 4 from left it’s my favorite hole on the course no question about it boxy just a very little quick one the flags behind them the other side of the clubhouse are going right to left and the flags on the stands right of the clubhouse are going in exactly the opposite direction quite a strange swirly wind around this club yeah there’s not a great deal of it they say in the trade there’s a lot of it you can’t see good crowds here surrounded surrounding this green 129 yards just a little wedge here but the roller are is left and right are just brilliant it makes the target where the flag is so small you don’t need to have 228 y parth three now is it on my little left now watch this one it’s far enough so doesn’t take that slope down to the bunker it’s all past it second to two for Lee just hung on to that right edge of the Fairway that’ll be interesting hson Hollows to content with yeah I’ve Just Seen Marcel seams ball I wasn’t I thought that was going actually Into the Bunker but he’s uh that’s quite a pull really with a wedge in your hand same club for Thomas he’s got about 8 ft left of the flag maybe nine anything left of that it goes down into the bunker if you pin High looks to be online a nice Applause small margins though at six not a huge one here for hland at two either no the angle of that bunker he’s trying to start it right and hit a hard draw you know what from where he was that’s not a bad shot to be honest something about the start though he’s four overp par the last 3 days on that opening Hall Victor hland he’s taken one step back to minus5 same scorer of his playing partner in Jung Juan Lee he to with a bogey down the first but we are looking forward to a finish fingers crossed it’s like last year here at the Genesis Scottish open later today Matthew Matthew Jordan into double digits always great to see on the same number as Cam Davis who became a two-time winner of the same event the rocket mortgage classic in share of 11th alongside Yanik Paul Nikolai hoard as well there is brother Rasmus been some twists and turns from the twins the other day Rasmus had the upper hand look at that anything missing right leads to a bogey it’s a great p position there t is an adjust oh the ones at the front are the by far the better pins especially if you’re not playing if you’re playing they can I mean you can you’ll get a range of everything here from two to five possibly six on this all today left to right here for marel see all the way up towards the whole slow p this one oh perfect read for the line it’s only a wedge but you know what anytime you walk off there with a pie you’re not greatly disappointed hland trying to play the little bump and run and doing it very successfully Perfect Touch for distance that should settle things down as we go up to six the petty part ahead of Justin Thomas here at the short path three got his eye on the greens yet more ways than one he just join us he left it down in the little Dell left of the flag at the third little bit of a mess of uh the previous hole the fifth so he’s two over par really out of nowhere Lee ball way back in his stance and really not getting the strike he wanted quite a lot of Loft but off the back foot delofting it the right idea just didn’t H it done a great job the uh SAR Brothers John and Jerry in attracting the sponsors the best Fields four of the top five players in the world are here this weake not to mention Rory maroy back oberg Robert Mack as we go down to the parpart ahead of late to avoid backto back Bogies and does nice just a little injection of confidence there needed it nothing worse than a bogey bogey start when you’re at the back end of the field and really wanting a low one my might just light his fuse and that goes for Victor H for him and identical scores for both through the first two holes why don’t we take a look down the 505 yard par 4 7th bunkers down the right side one dead center that’s 300 to reach of the T um again this is a power five for the members it’s a brutal hole I think the wind today it might be helping a little helping in a cross we’ll find out from Richard boxel but it’s a tough test wasn’t that amazing that the scoring average from that Center bunker was 5.11 overshot over its average it’s incredibly penal but you pretty much aim at it and just hope that it it kicks either side left will kick Left Right will kick right very difficult Fairway to hold boxy Aly this5 y this hole and it’s going to be Marcel to go first now the breeze Tony for your interest now has decided to go just straight across right to left it’s done a little bit of switching hasn’t it in the last 10 or 15 minutes yeah it’s um it’s all over the place really I look back down towards the 10th T and they’re moving from left to right across the 10th hole which means it’s across this seventh hole par five for the members so it should be as well so driver for Marcel a bunker down there to in the middle of the Fairway to be avoided in left or right of that it’s almost one of those things you sort of aim at the bunker and then to your horror Anthony hit it dead straight oh don’t you know the one no don’t it’s at that bunker you’ll pull it or you’ll push it oh no he hasn’t gone in it hopefully Tracer implied that it was a little bit down to the right generates so much power almost launching up on the ball Justin Thomas watch his hips through impact where Alli where’s he slid to now at two under par I was going to say it must be quite close to the the rear of the field now well he’s still three under yeah sorry three under yeah eight eth last yeah he and 10 players in that b botom section of the leaderboard that no one wants to be on that’ll work though that’ll actually afford him a really tasty angle to that front right flag today as well we’ll go back to three birdie eagle Birdie the last three days F Le none the wiser but we’ll let you know couple of waves coming through can see the little island I was talking about in the distance the L’s only 100 m by 50 m it’s tiny he’s gone after this one so there seeing Thomas grp bunker out of Play Into The Wind and you’ve got to get it a long way down if you want to threaten the green and two on the par five so an opportunity perhaps well we all know it is the third but for Victor hland after finding the Fairway down three to maybe attack that back flag on the little tier howong Le in that group just inside the top 20 had a a share of the lead on day one various times with Max kefir who is going to keep his fingers crossed all day long that he is one of the lucky three that will punch their tickets part of the final open qualifying series event to Royal trun next week about a 2hour drive from where we are here this week for the sixth time at the Renaissance Club there’s a Matt Fitzpatrick good 66 for him uh yesterday we got to see him kind of roll his sleeves up Tony yeah he had a he had a mixed day didn’t he had a couple of really iffy shots and Miss Fairways that we don’t really expect from him but he did he grounded out and he got the putter working it was a it was indifferent to begin with and then suddenly he got the feel he the pace he started reading them better a real professional effort that was same two in front of a home crowd for Grant Forest who’s in the bunch at minus 7 nice little round of 67 for him got to watch much of Nick Taylor’s day here on Saturday one step in the wrong direction thus far and there is uh one half of the Lee family that will be teed up for Australia M Le qualified on the women’s side for the third time minwoo getting his uh Olympic birth in two weeks time at the golf nasal I’m sure they’ll love it Tony I know we will we’ll be there together for two weeks going be fun what what sports are we going to go and what between the men and the ladies you going to organize tickets cuz I’m clueless it’s true you are but but you’re great fun though you’re good company you know I’m calling it the month of TJ I will have fun Ellie we will have some fun the Olympics wow great experience well these two have got down to their golf balls that did miss the bunker for Marcel S I go Steven Jer and Matty Schmid representing Germany decent spot for seam held on to the Fairway here at seven yes he’s got 186 the flag breze off the right just helping slightly I think there’s a seven iron here pins on the tight on the right side here now it’s down the right as the breeze got it don’t think it’s pushing it back that is a bad and a Big M with that length of Club second at three here might be helped by being that semi- rough cuz he could get a little flyer get some added distance but he doesn’t like it he’s got it a bit high on the toe that’s it’s gone nowhere second of play just in th was cutting in a seven iron here now that’s a little better is it up though yes it is that’s more like JT you know I mean where they sitting at the back of the field now this is a this is a practice session for next week really yes they’re going to get pay but you’re trying to just find some answers hland caning one down there and a soft bounce but it’s a good shot all the green to work with he took it all in the FedEx Cup last year and we are in week 28 of 44 tournaments on this year’s race to Dubai in partnership with Rolex as the best players from all around the world really on the DP World Tour make their way to 24 countries throughout the season we’ve got five Global swings then the back nine then the playoffs in the UAE with the top 70 making it to Abu Dhabi the top 50 will make it through to Dubai as we go to some of the the biggest and brightest cities on the planet it all ends in Dubai and there can only be one last year it was Rory maroy for a fifth time and these are the projected standings so that’s if uh oberg was to go on to win currently has a two- shot lead so he would launch himself up above his compatriot of Sebastian Soderberg who took the Asian swing who’s having an excellent season they’re all chasing Rory mroy again A Familiar tale nice to see Tom McKibbon there inside the uh the top eight as well remember these are projected so this is uh the leaderboard stays where it is now Robert McIntyre and Adam Scott hope it doesn’t they’re the nearest challenges for oberg out there today Lee has found some thick long stuff I don’t care who you are you just put that down to hit and Hope Oh don’t go behind the bunker this is not going to be fun for him it’s going to be a great watch for us what’s coming next I have no idea what he’s going to do there he could almost Pat it around the face of the bunker that’s a nightmare this is you got to scratch your head here you want to hit a bump and run but you’re in the thick stuff so you need some Loft you know you’re not going to have a lot of control boxy no I mean he grips it nice and weakly for this Shot opens the club face he you watch how open this club faces on the way back but It’s Tricky this it’s an all right lie but there’s no room for error out of here get it slightly wrong it’s 25 ft by look at that beautifully beautifully played that’s excellent it look straightforward doesn’t it but I mean that was so well played yeah you know how difficult that one was there Tony it looks easy but it really isn’t yeah back to three with hins third and he’s h on the side of caution there hasn’t he had to had to do saw Justin Thomas you missed that that anywhere left of that flag you’re struggling to tput this is where Justin Thomas is headed on his way to his Birdie Park coming up here at the seventh down the left on The Fairway great second in yeah can’t play the hole better than he’s played it so far hopefully he can find a way to nudge one in needs it two over after six birdie required boxing very much so just started raining a little bit now I just had a chat with Justin down the fairest you going to be watching our team tonight he said your team I said England oh yes he said it he said our Chef’s English he said he’s a he’s a wreck our our Chef Tony you see how he threw that b in our Chef yeah downhill all the way to the hole very fast part this for Justin Thomas here at the 7th yes well done the chef will be very happy with him now boxy you know the in the mornings it’s like a fashion show with you is it the long sleeve rain jacket is it the short sleeve long sleeves was the right choice eventually after about an hour of discussion wasn’t yeah we had a long chat I phoned you up as soon as my alarm went off and said what do you think I should wear today Tony I mean it really is not very easy to choose and you said I think the long sleeve one I said all right I’ll pack that then I mean you had cameraman giving you advice you had Ali giving you advice in the commentary box the the chefs in the in the his advice was very good she said take the long sleeve one yeah to please yeah it’s just stting to rain a little bit now I don’t think it’s going to be much now POA here for Marcel both these players hit seven irons into this hot 505 yards that’s two big hits in it that is an excellent four and a good three all right we’re back on track he’s two under for the last four holes marel same good man oh oh oh no well I mean he had nothing I mean maybe the best plan for him was to headit it out 15 ft left of the flag cuz he’s played that really well and he’s still gone down the slope remnants of maybe some of the the memories some could draw on the Road Hole putting around that bunker there’s just so much up for interpretation but very little margin there should be said for leate he’s down where Justin Thomas had his struggles well he’s done exactly the opposite of Justin Thomas Justin was trying to creep it over the slope came back to his feet he wasn’t going to do that but he’s launched it by won’t be dying wondering then so bit of a spot of bother less so for hin though this is a birdie look a real opportunity to get himself back to level par for the day after the drop shot that came at the first yes ni be done not break not much breaking it back to even power that always tastes an awful lot better so down the eighth the uh T box right in front of the houses that watch over this section of the golf course couple of bunkers down the right Tony yeah and you drive over that Ridge there’s a little Valley those those three bunkers it’s it’s always a decision on the te do you take it on the longer headers can take driver and pound it right over all the the sand but the majority will try and hit it up the left side of the Fairway slopes hard left to right feed it down onto the flat just trying to find a nice flat l so you can attack the the green which is above you on the second shot 308 yards to reach that bunker in the middle of the Fairway driver here for Justin Thomas two bunkers on the right you must not go into he lost the ball here I think in the second round was it on the right side correct walked away with double that looks much friendlier there good drive o oh thought about it but it is a bogey sadly three W for Marcel just with that club in his hand just got to avoid those two bunkers on the right hand side full of confidence at the moment after an excellent up and down on the last hole oh get luck lucky get lucky it has there’s a nice little flat area there oh I don’t like that shaking the hand I hope he hasn’t tweaked it somehow fingers crossed apologies for any language that were picked up on the mics it really is set up so very nicely going into Sunday here at the Genesis Scottish open it’s been a real Topsy Turvy year there’ve been huge highes for Robert McIntyre with his RBC Canadian open win but what came before it those months were trying after they made the move to Orlando and I’m not sure the the lease will be renewed from what we hear just loves being at home in this beautiful country Genesis is uh ongoing commitment to local Scottish golf saw talented Junior golfers Jody Graham and Ruby watt they were invited to the Scottish open believing they were just guests to enjoy the day but little did they know they had plenty of surprises in store once they got here you looking forward to today yeah will be good exited to see some pros yeah hopefully we’ll see a few oh my God oh my goodness gracious me hello ladies you guys are going to be playing in the proam with yours truly yeah we’ll take good care of you we’ll have a good time oh my God hi I’m Ruby hi I’m nice to meet you nice to meet you are hi I’m con I’m Ruby Ru going to meet you going to meet you let’s see one come on it’s fine no all right all I got to do is watch all 18 now just stand outside the car and I didn’t know what to do myself oh where’s the break there you go ouch even W over how was today you do want to see what a day that was so cool absolutely lost for words yeah Ruby that plays out of the Paul Lorry Golf Center jod that plays out of Royal trro no doubt uh they’ll be watching on but what a thrill Tony oh what a treat I mean those are the memories they last you for life great experience get down to the fourth a nice reminder as well for the pros isn’t it when you see that kind of passion coming through both of uh those players representing Scotland at their age group level at the moment which is brilliant you feed off that kind of energy brilliant I love that I really love that quite like that t-shot of hin too wow two over after three for Lee just have a little reset got to just forget that you got to forget the first three holes pretend you’re on the first tier G nice and a very generous flag today four good chance to bounce back at the birdie Marcel seems first to place play here is is caddy V I think that’s how you pronounce it has walked up to check where the breeze is he a bit of a gully here and if you’ve got a A View from behind which I think you probably have if you can see the TV toil the black TV toil with the eight on it the flag stick is just slightly to the right of that he can only just see the flag nothing else 187 I think this is a Punchy little six on here breezes in into a little bit off and up slope there’s The Punchy shapy shot nice I’m feeling a bit guilty now you know I saw vion yesterday in the little Co-op popped in to grab a a snack and I’ve completely forgotten that he was caddy for the Italian Open winner I’m feeling awful now I’m going to have to track him down and apologize cuz it means so much to these caddies too to be on a Winner’s back nice and quiet thank you 182 for Thomas here on a little bit of an UPS slope ball slightly below his feet which will create just a little bit of left natural left to right for him good a hard 7 ey there we go found a little something that can be the smallest thing a fraction fractional change in the grip or the setup or the posture and suddenly you feel dialed in that is more like it for Justin Thomas a look at two in a row I look at 78 and nine this week eight playing in the red throughout the last three and a half days seven and N anything but let’s jump back to the fourth and hland after that great t- shot that would have been straight down the pipe from where he was standing back edge of that green kind of crumbles away a little bit it does release but all these guys only got wedges in hand shouldn’t take too much of a bounce so our final pair of McIntyre and oberg are off in few seconds away from exactly 3 hours time from now lovely big smooth action Lee has H that’s better clever shot from marel a little short of it one of those that you’re kind of hoping your max yardage is the right number anything else will be safely to the heart of the green and they are huge this is 48 Paces long the eighth and a lot of that green is in play you think about uh the US open at Pinehurst how they did the shadings of how much of each green was usable um I mean comparatively they were tiny you can really tuck these pins off the edges closest we’ve got is four off the edge today but a number of times have you crept in there and had a look at this boxy I’ve had a look yeah I’ve also had a little chat with Marcel and he did hit his little chippy on in there which was uh the right Club he said it’s funny Turf this isn’t it he said it’s nice to hit off but it’s not he said not what I would call proper proper lynxy Turf I said well next week it will be and he’s never been to tr before I said well you you’ll enjoy that we enjoyed him at Royal St George’s didn’t we boxy you what sorry we enjoyed Marcel’s him at Royal St georgees yes we did the fist pump in full action might be here after he resets over this birdie part yeah not a massive mountain in it’s quite flat at the top of this green here at the at the eighth very difficult with your second shot to get the ball all the way back to the flag it’s not going to quite make the journey but it’s a sound par great biry chance here for havland no mistakes there backto back birdies in red numbers for the day well done so well played from hland well played to here from Justin Thomas just the 13 ft left ahead for a birdie three pop this in for back toback birdie suddenly the interest level will sore again yeah very good chance this one to make his birdie as you say good seven iron right up to the flag one Reed was good just too Pacey knocked it through the brake leave for his birdie left to right and in she goes the first bird of the of the day for Lee so back to plus one that’s aart of Justin Thomas and it makes two in the pair with Marcel seam doing the same it’s like they’ve all woken up Ellie first three holes were bit of a shambles actually for our two feature groups but now they producing some stuff now it’s back to normal for the world number 26 good players you give them long enough and it’s going to shine through it sure is more days than most flag today at nine 28 yds up the green just five off the right Edge and look at those slopes do not miss it right a smart play here is if you just get it five or six yards left of the flag pin High he’ be very happy with a 20 footer yeah 198 t as you say and as you also said do not miss it right Breeze is slightly into off the left I think it’s a the club all bit of trouble off the seventh for another group uh I think it’s a four iron and you a it at the left half of the green just let it drift a little left to right boxy into off the left the winds turned game it’s all over the place Tony yeah you know the last time we we were anywhere near this green the breeze was going the other way so it is uh I suppose it’s about well the tide would have changed about an hour and 15 minutes ago I think well you described the wind you were using the clock face yesterday and it was so complicated every time I looked at my watch the rest of the day I didn’t actually know what day I was on no no I was thought about doing that here but and I thought no I better not I’m getting you a digital watch yeah get me a Digi into off the left here though yep safely up sorry really tough path through this it’s almost with that pinb right it’s like a little dog leg par three almost you know you got to sort of play it to the left and then make your way to the right side of the green beautiful flag for a fader of the ball isn’t it yeah ideal middle of the green with a little gentle fade always going towards the hole but for a draw of the ball oh my goodness no leave it alone the only thing about drawing it Tony here is into that left right Breeze is it Woodland softer yeah correct only thing it’s amazing yeah go say box I was going to say how many computations go through their head when they working out these shots out there oh plenty then at the end of the day I don’t know about you how many swing thoughts could you have for a swing that worked when I played my best I had one but normally probably two or three there was all sorts of rubbish rattling around in that empty space I call a cranium yeah I reckoned I reckon I was I don’t know what you were like Ally but I reckon I could coope with two Max yeah and more feels than positions as we go back to hovland at five bued it every day see if he can find the putting surface the okay I always I always found my best simple thought would be a takeaway thought you know if I could narrow it down to something I was thinking about a takeaway you know when you start thinking about hand positions and Club positions at the top we rooting it on the way down oh my goodness goes wrong in a hurry Tempo goals as well I know Adam Scott over the years used um a compatriot of Jong Juan Lee uh INB Park as her takeaway she’s so slow and rhythmic on the way back he used to visualize B Park swing yeah if you get if you get the first bit right the rest should follow shouldn’t they is the way I used to look at it yeah absolutely right both down right it’s it sorry carry on I was interrupting then we’ll just go and do a little quick leaderboard for now boxy but we’ll be right back with you okay plenty more to come from Richard here we’re into the afternoon now and things are stacking up nicely aren’t they 17 under the Mark it’s held by the swed at the world number four in ludig oberg as well as McIntyre right in the slot right where he wants to be after the best score of the day yesterday a round of 63 to put him right into contention Adam Scott there as well it was a 63 with a bogey down the last two for McIntyre Cory Connors in the group at minus 10 so many players in with a hunt here in the final round of the Genesis Scottish open good move from shanka shama he’s minus 6 he’s just birdied three holes in a row from 10 through 11 Harris English as well blemish free in minus four as he makes his way out to the 11th hole we get back to the action at 9 go thank you Thomas go first it’s a two-way swinger this one and it’s a bit right to left and left to right at the end for Thomas get a lot of those double breakers out here oh well I’m to hit a few Cuts early on I think he had enough of that let’s at least have a go give it a run nice thing about if you if you pass the hole you get to see the break as it runs out of steam it’s always a good guideline for when you return boxy while he setting up I think I I love the discussion of Rhythm I think the most important thing with rhythm in your swing is don’t fight your natural instinct which I think is governed by your personality type you know Ernie El’s lazy low slow walk couldn’t swing it quickly whereas a guy like Nick price or woozy or Tom Watson everything is quick if you tell them to swing it slowly you’ll destroy you would have destroyed them wouldn’t you yep most definitely yes I think you know you can tell people’s personality by their swing yeah chance here they won’t be many twos on this hole today good try learned his lesson from Thomas’s pace so made it look a little easier from over there Marcel seam Justin Thomas has a tester coming back however to finish off his front nine currently one over par of the day courtesy of some quite big mistakes really by his lofty standards at three and the fifth yeah when you have a little go for the the birdie P you sort of regret it when you’ve knocked it this far past this for your part oh you won’t get easier conditions than right now for play nicely yeah I never minded really giving them a SP Splurge past the hle rather than leaving at that distance short you know you leave it short you’re still quering what’s the break going to do at the whole hland little nudge up there and well I’m going to leave that one alone because I don’t have much good to say about it no that that was not the leave for Victor hovland we see if his playing partner can get it down into that little back section H’s going to have so much break to deal with not to mention issues with speed from there just get it running a little bit more has the both got loads of green to use to their advantage oh get Clause but he won’t be he won’t be enamored with it we’re not quite at that stage of the day where players start popping up on the first page of the leaderboard but we do have uh some movers and shakers out there the uh AFF mentioned shanka sha who played so nicely at Royal Liverpool last year has had seven birdies at one drop shot that came at the fourth and he’s six under par for the day four under par to that of Harris English on the same number as toon Allison who’s also made some strides in the right direction after bogy in the first hole picked up birdies at 2 and three and five and six they are there to be had Samuel Stevens and sewo Kim finding the slot out there five under par orbe it very different ways see him blemish free it was a double bogy bogy start for Samuel Stevens to get back to five underpath of the round he fired off what eight birdies after that nice turn around as we go to hovland now it’s going to be Long Way left here Tony yeah this is a a nasty one to read and we saw Le’s little chip how fast it is too you’ve got a merry line and Pace perfectly always wondering you get a guy like hin who’s is definitely a poor chipper you know he’s got exemptions for life just go away for three months and just chip chip for three months and learn how to do it properly you’re not pressed for time you’re a young man but just get away and sort it well last year he he did a very good job of doing exactly that in terms of his short game was significantly better this year it’s more of the original uh patterns kind of creeping back in as we go to Justin Thomas on 10 obviously with the driver slightly elevated T down to this uh fast running tenth hole the Fairway where is that oh no that’s in that bunker down the left both these players kind of forfeiting their chance to to Really attack with their birdie putts hland has missed same to now of Lee he’s trying to take some break out of that next up Marcel seam I’m chatting to a couple of Marshalls down here and they said they’ve not really seen anyone go in that leftand bunk I think that’s the first one today but it’s a proper bunker you’ll be splashing out out of that one and knocking it on in three so keep it down the right side here for Marcel seam it’s down the right all right oh he looked like he didn’t like that that’s absolutely perfect think he’ll knock it on from there yeah it’s a great drive so up in your plane partner hits it in the left hand bunkers you either follow him or you bail out and go miles right in the in the jungle while they walk down let’s go through the pin placements on the back nine 27 on six off the right so there’s a little room to work with at the par five yeah it’s tucked away 11 16 off just four away from the edge that has two bunkers guarding it yeah that’s an interesting flag nice little spell here and then 13 the signature hole really 34 yards up the green just seven off the right you can use the slope on the right hand Fringe a lot of guys will do that today Hit It Up by the right Fringe and feed it down to the hole that’s the smart play but they’ve certainly kept the players on their toes they had to you know lyx courses need wind to defend them we’ve had very little all week so yes the pin positions have been very tricky as you would expect there it is it 15 at least they hit the green just just five off the right over those bunkers down 16 19 on just four off the left danger lurking anything left of the flag can feed down it to that pot bunker and then to 7 the power three this is fairly generous 22 on midd maybe hoping that that Ridge and Bowl might drag a couple of balls down to the left away from that flag oh and it will we’ll see a bit of that too 18 27 on six off the right just left of the ridge which is it’s a nice pin to get at really good pin hit a left of the flag everything comes down to the hole they’re part of our uh Hall in one up for grabs the trip to career in October should their player be Victor hland or jungan Lee make an ace here I don’t think hland has o well it’s quite the reaction from the crowd I’m going to guess that’s in one of the bunkers maybe from his reaction looked a little a little short right perhaps that’s a big M for the wedge you know if you put this flag at 129 yards on the Range and gave them an area the size of that landing area on the green with no bunkers just a flat Fairway they would hit it 48 times out of 50 but you pop in a a few pot bunkers steep little slopes and some danger it’s a mental Hazard more than a oh my goodness I wonder if they’re getting Fox a bit by the wind up against the back of the C there you know we’ve seen that news gone by and there and there is an advantage to having seen a the greens because we know that they can be a little bit elusive uh in previous editions but also the the wind the way that it kind of switches around and it’s probably even harder now that it’s a stadium hole cuz you don’t have the breeze coming through like we used to to be able to see the flag itself moving on the green that does not look fun for Justin Thomas he’s got absolutely no chance trouble is it’s difficult to get in here and get a stance in the right position you need to put your body to get it back onto the Fairway I mean he’s just literally going to chop this out if he gets it 25 yards that’s about the best just got to play it back out for the Fairway except it as a three shot and you be hting quite a long Club in for your third any hint of greediness here and it’s staying in there and coming back to your feet oh totally there’s no point Tony you just got to open the club face Splash it back out into the Fairway I think You’ do well just to get this out yeah nothing else you can do absolutely nothing to the other side of the Fairway Marcel who body language suggested it was going well right it’s right half of the Fairway 267 I believe he’s gone into the flag here that’s not uh certainly reachable not a great deal of Breeze looking at the flags around the sixth hole there up on top of the ground St they’re all fairly limp you got the pin sort of back right here it’s quite fidly it’s a typical typical linkx greenness you got to run it in from the right hand side there’s humps and Hollows and you need a bit of luck to get it close he stepped away hope he didn’t hear me then boxy for the that back right flag I mean ideally a power cut to get in there yeah can he carry it far enough to to get a cut to pitch on the green I don’t think so what what if he where he’s going to pitch this it’s going to be a big down slope if he nuts this it’s going to be pitched on a down slope and it’ll run over the back let see what he does with this yeah I think the plan was the the cut and these oh over done it dramatically ever saw it went down the right I presume yes it did it’s probably 15 yards right of the green just about P ey right both of them missed the bunker here at the sixth found that little Gap in between now we know what the reaction is from the crowd everyone of them thinking that doesn’t happen to me on a Sunday when I play here I end up up against the face and I make a seven lucky Pros lucky R and you think we’re exaggerating but there’s always you know you have the the Bogies and the worse there always there’s always worse to be had around uh the sixth 253 for Thomas for his third shot as I say you pitch it on the front pitch it on the green it’s going over you’ve got toit have get a nice big cut and cut it into this right to left slope if you want to to get it close oh I can see a ball just appeared on the back of the green what a shot wasn’t it a belter really was I me after coming out sideways he’s still got a chance for birdie that showed grit wed for huffland oh dear choose life oh the the one time that you’d expect him to reach for a Potter and he goes and does that so that’s from bad to worse as well that bunker is to say unfavorable would be a an understatement Okay the third now from a worst spot oh my goodness this is like watching the final at Wimbledon now what now you going to try and Chip it again or do you pet it this is this is chaos I think he’s love 40 surely he changes tacked it’s cool to see the the Luke hats there for the challenge Cancer Foundation and uh Jared ly who used to play in the PGA tour now hland that only just clung on there that was nearly that was 2 feet from coming back to his feet so we’ve seen Justin Thomas make a mess of three this this could be a six in a heartbeat the worst I could find was a five throughout the week which was surprising cuz you can genuinely obviously rack them up yeah yeah but those pot bunkers I mean you can take two or three to get out of them if you’re unlucky oh my made the abacus it’s a double bogey put ahead after his playing partner made it look pretty simple we knew it wasn’t and was never going to be but this is something else to salvage a five here Victor hland and it’s a one part double or is is it generous from the crowds there it seemed genuine as we go out to Marcel scene this actually is not a difficult shot here he’s got a good line needs to pitch it just on that down slope there let it run up move from right to left just needed a little more on it yeah just needed a tiny bit didn’t it boxy that was tiny bit have a good angle there would have taken that slope wouldn’t it see from the other angle did very well to hear Justin Thomas oh slightly Ellie I don’t think he could believe it when he got to the top of the head he looked at looked down at the green and sort of gave it the double de teapot with both hands on both hips as if to say is that my ball or is that mine cells would have been pleased yeah it would well this one is a good chance as well right to left to start with then just moves a little left or right at the hole boxy there haven’t been too many pts this week from 20 ft plus that haven’t had a double break no they’re quite they’re quite lumpy aren’t they the greens really subtle little breaks of them for sure they’re just at that nice Pace Tony where we can give them a bit of a hit you know yeah quite right there’s the right to left there’s the left to right I tell you what Allison that boxel can still read greens there’s a reason why he’s a good pter you’re not wrong and here it is 129 yards five and a four to every Golf Course designer out there scrap the 240 yard path threes and make them like that cuz it’s way more fun it’s the third bogey of the day for Jan Lee we go back to Marcel SE yeah 4 and a half five ft or so left for another birie remember it’s payday everyone counts you never know what one p count for at the end of the year get you into this get you into that he saw right to left in it didn’t materialize he hasn’t been that sharp on the par FS this week he he only birdied the third once that was in the opening round PA all of the other days and it’s going to be the same story birdie at 10 on day one and not so any of the other three we’ll see what 16’s got for him he’s had better Fortune there all feeds back to his his putting 34 on day one 30 the other two days for Marcel same and that’s a lot that sounds launched quickly for the te promising change of wind and an easier pin has made this whole play a lot easier than the previous 3 days it’s averaging just under four there a lot tougher earlier they’ve still only been five birdies mind you so it’s it’s an easyish power 4 if you had the Fairway but it’s still not an easy birdie they like it he’s not so sure is that skirted past past the bunker on the short grass 475 the 11th Breeze has turned again it’s downwind now left to right dog leg slightly uphill t- shot this that can get in your head boxy either suits the eye or doesn’t we couldn’t quite see where that finished up yeah if you’re a natural fader of the ball it’s quite a nice hole this one there’s a big huge tree I don’t know what make it is Tony tell us down the right wing there what is it Tony actually I don’t know boxy but I know for a fact that this was all forest and they that you know they they just left the odd Tree in place uh positional trees and this one is perfectly placed and it’s a very unusual shape isn’t it it almost should be the logo of the club it’s a beauty of a tree that’s the one you’re talking I heard you talking about that yesterday yeah it’s a stunning tree but no I’m sorry I don’t know what what kind it is what species well it’s a green one anyway driver for Marcel body language says it’s going towards the tree begging for it to get left no look at clip the tree I presume that was it just on top of that little Mound we’ll be quite pleased if it is we’re getting uh to the pointy end of our t- sheet now a little bit short of 2 and 1/ half hours time until the leaders go out but shank K shama didn’t want to wait to climb his way up he had four in a row from 10 through 13 he’s pared 14 and is heading down 15 as we speak and that’s with a bogey in it that came at the fourth hole so just outside the top 11 sewo Kim as well having a a fantastic final day on Sunday’s blemish free and climbing as much as he can given where he started his round good move from uh Richard Mansel who was one over through two he’s got back to for under for the day last week’s champion in Davis Thompson he’s finding it yet again there’s one of three Scots to make it through to the weekend of the eight that’s heed up that included last week’s champion on the DP World Tour from the BMW International that of yan Ferguson and who better to tell us why Scotland is such a special place than a man that calls it home the castles in Scotland are pretty special there so much history around them the locks are was so nice the views are spectacular especially when you get a a nice weather day which which can be pretty rare if I was going to tell someone to go to Scotland I would say the views are amazing the air is so fresh history you can feel it when you’re walking around like the cobal roads I’d say it’s definitely different to most places you’ve been it’s just a an amazing place that differs so much on the way around you can do the NC uh 500 drive along the top in fact I did it last year and Bob McIntyre told me where to go all the way around the top of the country up to orne and that’s how the Scots are fairing at the moment McIntyre the best of those go through Obin good whiskey country it’s a little Smokey over there down to Lee holding the pose which is a good sign I think hell that’s all right pable pable birdie couple of houses around on top players usually stay in them actually I haven’t seen anyone on the uh the balcony watching T number eight this year no a little unlucky just crept over that mound it’s a tiny little area flat area where that hole is cut going to get a good look at that tree that you were talking about boxing Marcel seems had a very good look at it too on the way by yeah he’s fine though he’s got a back swing and uh he’s right where the crowd walks so he’s just like being on The Fairway really 162 to a pin that 16 on four from the left beautiful shaped green this very tight very narrow left to right but then it’s very long back front to back I think those left bunkers will get a work out today box here yeah for sure actually there’s a bunker short of the green here for some reason somebody’s taking the rake out and put it in the rough down the left hand side right can’t quite work like well they’ve done that very calm now it might have been the old hammer throw box here depending what they did in it yeah it could have been yeah I’m just looking for another bunker tucked away somewhere in the rough but there isn’t anyway 162 Left Hand p perfect angle this for Marcel little bit uphill I think we get a 99 there slightly down Breeze but there’s hardly anything now what the are you doing apologies for the language quite a bit to choose from there lot less for Thomas 135 just a little punch him with a wedge here you can pitch it left and it’ll screw back down to the hole that is the little cushion he’s got the light looks okay boxy yeah it Li is perfect it’s all good half a club uphill but again it’s down Breeze which counteracts that coming from this angle almost kind of pitching into the side slope a little bit that’s hideous o that is where the the big X in your yardage book is to that flag today birdie try from off The Fringe for Lee I think that might be a bit further past than it looks from that angle we good view here on the the lower angle show off the undulations of the Green MO on how it does release past that flag down at seven today even with the the height that hin could generate still rolled out a good couple of yards scan the QR code go to DP world.com on the left if you want to see all of our content can see the uh longer version of our surprise visitors earlier this week Ruby and Jody and the day that they had now hin for birdie line was good good read Swift at the hole understandable that it came up a little short you know Justin Thomas might make a four here but really from 135 yards he couldn’t have actually put it in a worst place any place would be worse if he was further up against the lift at the back he’s pitched in the front of the bunker coming out his plug Mark so he’s got a flat line it’s downhill left to right all the way he’s got to pitch this just on top of the bunker here pitches it on the green it’ll shoot past so it’s very doable this out there no just pitched a bit too far it was a very fine margin from up there we see a few shots like that at the postage stamp next uh next week as well quickly back to Lee o and the Putter’s gone Stone Cold short Miss at 6 short one at seven so he’s three over par for the day now talking about the postage them Ali you have you play true much or not uh I covered the Women’s Open actually that uh Sophia pop off won in 2020 well Tony you would have played there a lot and so so did I but I always used to play that postage St whatever the breeze was I used to play front left and take my two PS all the time I love about you absolutely good plan horrible hole well it’s not horrible it’s a lovely hole but it’s a frightening ho oh it’s frightening hole dinky little par three but and we’ve seen sevens and eights there over the years it’s right to left part this one up the slope here for Marcel it’s going to be quite slow this the first 18 ft or so very slow see he’s got taking quite a big back swing quite a hefty th he’s going to enough to give this then it flattens out of the hole so you got to be careful not to shoot three or 4T by here which is exactly what he’s done but he gave it a run he knows he’s hit a good Pat the only one of our four players that’s under path obviously needs to tap that next one in he will just have to tap it it’s going to be swift to stay that way it’s been a good indicator today that it just seeing how how tricky lyx golf can be if your game is slightly out of kilter man I can bite you yeah there are some courses sometimes you play you cannot hit it well and you can get away with it there certain courses like this one you can’t valderama is another one you most definitely can’t anything I think where this sort of fast greens and get a bit of Breeze it’ll it’ll find you up and come back for Thomas’s par he just started building a little momentum you know and then the drive down 10 kind of dampened that that will as well so he’s two over par for his day back to eight launch from hland seems to like it oh that’s a beauty it’s going to just feed back down onto that little flat Plateau the perfect t-shot at that little tester left here for ourselves see lot of Spectators around here all oh thank you just dropped my yardage she having the few little beers here beautiful how nice I got off of the Sip actually but I thought I’d better turn it down you behaved one time in a row and it goes for marel so even though he wasn’t thrilled with his second shot he’s going to walk away with the par back to eight less than driver as well for Lee almost follows the club head back a little bit with with his own head on his back swing something that uh hoso does think they were both on The Fairway there let’s have a look at the path 3 this week there’s five of them and uh a A really lovely amount of variety between each and every one got the short sixth uh the difficult ninth and then over in this little section just watch how they they fold back on each other the the 12th the 13th and then the 14th in fact the other day Rob Robert McIntyre was on 14 green when he was playing 12 had to go up and over the the little stone wall in between yes and he played a beautiful little pitch from behind that wall I was watching that game Al on day one now this is 203 you stand on this te and you think where’s the green cuz it’s like an Infinity pull as I was talking yesterday and you got the pin right at the back so it actually looks like it’s stuck on the coastline you know just a yard behind it is it drops into the sea which obviously it doesn’t but that’s the view they get 203 down off the right hand side you want to use the right hand side of the green here anything left of the flag will all will move away from it and the trouble we using the right hand side is there’s two bunkers sneaked in on that right hand side but ideally if you could hit this 20 ft right the flag and draw it in from right to left you got a chance of getting it within 10 15 ft looking a bit gray in the distance with the breeze now going towards the fth or fourth it’s got that little hazy look yeah it’s got that little I haven’t got an umbrella look it’s 203 three yards to the flag down 12 today that’s pretty good that one that’ll be left of the flag will move left stay there see how it goes away at the end look at it that’s what you need that shape but just right at the hole St though was marel know was such a thrill to watch him uh Birdie the last and birdie in extra time over Tom McKibben not quite sure he was going to get it done for a few moments there right in the dying stages down 70 second now Justin Thomas 203 same yardage fly enough now this is a good time to test your game out just think right or I’ll just knock it out right and draw it back a little bit see if I can pull that shot off get ready for next week lots of sh shot making shots she got to play next week oh four that’s right not left oh up near the wall I’ll go have a look I wonder if it’s going to come into play on on his back swing how close it is yeah they’re all integral parts of the course too no drops from Walls Lee had eight quite a short t- shot just on the UPS slope of the crest but a very good second second here for hland you can see the flag from over here has a Clear Sight and he’s over 40 Paces on on the way back there and that stay for even money just as easily could have launched long left rolls down to the rough over the back Edge well if we could have written the script coming into Sunday it would look a little something like that oberg over McIntyre into the final round in Scotland not to mention throw maybe the defending champion in Rory mroy into the mix or be it five shots back he’s going to need a little bit of help and I’m not sure he’s going to get it unless he can throw out something like shanka shammer is in a round that’s had eight birdies in it Aaron Ry is in the red he won here in a playoff over Tommy Fleetwood was that four years ago now two birdies in the last three holes and and they came at predictable spots for Aaron Ry at 3 and five it’s been good today from Franchesco Molinari so he’s worked his way from uh 3 to 8 under par he had an eagle in there came at 10 six birdies three bogeys he barely had a par he’s always a good watch Tom Kims proving to be box office as uh his career progresses never forget him down in the mud at the PGA last year wasn’t it I think the mud won 68 for Sheamus power so a lot of these players are hoping to get settled on the on the time zone it’s all part of the plan sander Shuffle said at the start of the week that somehow when you travel across so many time zones it’s very difficult to feel like you’re at 100% come Thursday especially with the amount of uh golf these guys plays we get down to Justin Thomas Richard yeah this is not so easy this all downhill he’s got to pitch just right on the what he’s got all the way that’s a brilliant shot that’s excellent I thought he had to pitch that on the top that is some courage to play that I know he’s not in the lead or anything but that’s a beautiful shot threw it down past it all just chatting to Ali just chatting to Marcel there we’re talking about age and everything and he’s didn’t realized it’s his birthday tomorrow 44 tomorrow God I wish I was there remember that Tony vaguely it’s a bit ugly isn’t it box you have timed concertinas as you get older well yeah I also the other thing is everything as you get a bit everything’s done with a grunt isn’t it you know you oh to pick that up and oh we didn’t make a move now Marcel here up the slope left to right all the way again it’s quite a slow sort of part yeah quite fancy this if you can give it the uh wrap required yeah we go go on come on willing it over really has been a great career to watch we wish him a happy birthday happy 44th tomorrow July 15th for Marcel seam he’s won in three different decades as well his first and last wins coming 20 years apart impressive to still be competing out here at 44 hland Swift P down the hill surely surely that’s find the bottom of the hole great p and of all of them that’s the one he made go figure against the odds there at eight back to level par we return to Justin Thomas where the breeze is beginning to pick up Ali just a little bit now this for that’s a brilliant part how’d you get on on the to oh po it was a excellent up and down just in between the two walls played it beautifully yes he was a bit of an UPS slope but he played it beautifully yeah store that one away in the memory banks for for TR next week Lee in its last break it topples him for a birdie after back to back Bogies yeah that’ll bring a smile to your face you hope he’s uh lapping out the experience as well as we take a look down 13 Tire hole moves to the left cers to the left as well it’s almost like a a two shelf Fairway yeah and there’s a nice flat area up on the right half of the Fairway not very wide most shots feed down to the left half and then that flag is 34 yards up the green today and that slope on the right with those little white arrows that’ll be used a lot today just hited five or six yards right of the flag it’ll feed right down to the hole and the views the views on 13 of the fth of fourth fidra island up ahead on the left got the waves breaking on the little beach down at the bottom of the the hill there stunning as they walk back you see just how much land there is and I’m not sure where the Border Falls to that of mfield but this is was all part of the the land swap with the honorable company of Edinburgh golfers SL mfield as their known but they could have used more maybe even put the te further back so must have taken some restraint from Tom do over to nine calling for it to hold hland calling for it to sit down that that took an aerial picture of the flag that can’t be the right Club something’s gone a soon as he hit it he said sit he’s he’s querying the yardage and Shay’s getting very nervous now you’re questioning yourself playing partner looks like he’s flushed it and just air mailed everything smart safe shot now the breeze is off the right hand side here don’t want to be down the left knock it up the right hand side use the slope from right to left yep perfect that is absolutely A1 all the way they’re over the out of bounds down the left historically quite a quite a quick Fairway as well this get it running down there you’ll get an extra 203 yeah when you got the win the other way Ali the players have a go at this yeah we haven’t had that chance this this year no beautiful view though here that F or fourth out there waves rolling in like going do a bit of body surfing later Justin Thomas think he’s hit that out of the neck I think yeah that’s down the right side goodness me if that club had had a huzzle that would have been a shank very very strange from a man who’s generally an excellent Striker very odd beautiful beaches orbe a little chilly in the water uh in this part of the world and earlier this week Stewart Inc Dan Bradbury and Iona Steven all got involved in a beach clean unfortunately there is plastic on the beach and it’s a sad thing but the the beach does get public use and some people aren’t all that thoughtful about what they do out there on the sand in the water and it’s good to see people that care and I’m glad to see that people are doing their part out here DP well we play so much in so many different countries with that comes a lot of carbon emissions so yeah I took the decision to offset my carbon emissions last year and I think quite a few guys are doing it and I know now they offer offer the opportunity for fans to do the same it’s a pretty cool thing that they’re doing and uh if everybody can get on board that’d be great we’re here at the Genesis Scottish open this week there’s no plastic on the golf course it’s all refillable water bottles and stations so their their waist footprint is just going to be smaller and it’s great to see we want to continue to Showcase what the golfers can do and put it on television and invite people to come out and have a great time but it doesn’t mean you have to use tons of plastic and tons of glass and and be wasteful and and build up well good to see great efforts down there anything that can raise awareness nice for Dan Bradbery to offset his carbon emissions I know that Rory mroy has been doing that for a number of years now granted he has a jet I did too I stopped eating baked beans now what will he play here aerial rout and did it well fair play from long of nine it was a a big misjudgment off the tea you don’t get a flyer off a tea Peg take a look at 13 such a long way back for Justin Thomas he’s firing on about two cylinders out there today by his usual standards boxy that was a fairly bizarre t- shot by Justin Thomas wasn’t that you don’t often see him misure a metal wood by that much that was just horrendous yeah he just got ahead of it and started his down swing a bit quick it was all you know one of those swings where you think oh he try and save it with the hands and well he’s now left himself the ball is so far above his feet he’s got that horrible thick whispy lynxy grass that comes across so easy to pull this left and there’s some White Post down there you don’t want that anywhere up on the right it’s going to stick if he could get this from 203 if he could get this front left of the green it would be an incredible result a decent t- shot here boxy you’re sort of thinking if you find the Fairway nine or eight iron at most aren’t you I mean 23 yards on this lie it’s a Horror Story yeah no it’s horrid I I would imagine this one would be heading down the right side but we’ll see if you slip or don’t quite get it right the club comes in heel catches the ground turns the club B over and it whiffs it left it’s a distinct possibility down over the cliff on the left he’ll be doing everything he can to avoid that though careful bounds post well in there it was odds on that was going to go there so hard to avoid it let’s get to Lee nice stroke wow Sidewinder I like this set up at the course today Ali they put these flags in positions where it demands extreme accuracy with your irons and and distance control they are professionals they can do it absolutely and it can be done as we saw sew ke uh sew Kim’s actually just posted to 62 buring the last four on the way in so good golf rewarded but it’s polarizing if you’re not quite on song everything you desire in a final round setup okay Marcel seam from the left edge of the Fairway smooth N9 iron from 145 aim it right at the flag Sublime short of it as well just to make the uh next part a little bit more appealing so very good look coming for Marcel s back to hland paret boy Tappen so the make at eight he gives directly back but realistically it all feeds back to the iron shot just a little conversation about his alignment and maybe where the weight is on his feet on that little upslope backck on his heels woring again lovely shot he’s one of those players where he good is good enough you know and it’s it’s not always smooth with Marcel seam so we take a look at our race to Dubai rankings these are the projected standings if the leaderboard were to stay as it is with oberg going on to win so mroy still in front McIntyre with a runner-up finish uh would move just outside the top 10 remember there are 10 spots up for grabs for the PGA tour as well a lot of our guys that went over doing quite nicely dri’s really stepped up to the table McIntyre already has a victory and there is Marcel seam who went miscut miscut tied for 51st win miscut and that’s what I mean you know I think understanding that your aame is good enough that it might be a little bit of a roller coaster in between to Keep On Believing all important there plenty of different types of players aren’t there now the top 50 will make it to Dubai the top 70 where Casey Jarvis currently sits he’s come close already this season will be it for a bit of a mistake in Japan when he was leading preferred his ball when uh there were no preferred lies so he’s in 70th top 70 make it to Abu Dhabi down to Justin Tom stayed out of the super long stuff that’s pretty from down there and a tidy recovery I’ll be disappointed the day Marcel team decides to hang up his clubs he always a pleasure to have out on tour and you know there’s a reason he’s popular he wears his heart and Steve yes he can can be a bit of a volcano and things go wrong but you know he always involves the crowd he always you know he always acknowledges the crowd when he gets a bit of Applause too many players don’t you know they get in their bubble the crowd hang on these guys have paid good money to come out here and support you they give you a clap even if you’re not that happy acknowledge it I didn’t always do it I must admit but he does and that’s why he’s so much fun to watch it seems to come so naturally as well and uh genuinely from marel scene true warm character and two excellent shots to hear is to get to two underpar for the day shame second deserve better I do wonder if he’ll ever hang up his boots you know he just loves playing the game lives lives in maius these days doesn’t he yes yes he sure does and loves it out there I love this Rhythm wow that is a lovely lovely action Ernie El’s smoothness can see how he’s uh finished in the top 10 on the rankings on the kpga 2017 18 last year as well excellent up and down I love that little chip from left to the green was just beautifully played he going to need those a TR smoked down the tent from Victor hovland that’s as good as it gets right there that’s as good as it gets so is this be very hard to get bored with looking at that wouldn’t it it’s just it’s just magical have our plane flying over all week let’s get you up to speed if you’re just uh tuning in with this on feature groups this is uh the second shot down seven for Justin Thomas and uh before this it had been all bad but that was a a dash of the good and he’d roll that in for his first birdie of the day Lee this is a nice little turn around at 8 after going bogey bogey he still two over par though he needs needs something good down the back nine this was at four for marel seam at this stage was one over for his round that straighten things out back to level par Victor hland boed one birded three and four unfortunately he would make a double bogey at the tiny Par 3 six but trying to set things to rights with this birdie put at eight nice hasn’t been a fun day for him one over he is after nine now a player of his caliber has no business being overpar on any golf course but really conditions are pretty friendly out there right now the is Ander Shuffle won he won with seven under the card total yeah for the entire week that was a rough year you just need a 20 mph wind on links courses and it’s a different test a different Beast and they’ve had quite a lot of rain here on on and off little drips and drabs a lot earlier in the week so the fairways aren’t as fiery and the greens are receptive that’s another reason why the’re scoring so good you know if these greens were hard and firm all normal lyx golf we wouldn’t be having the scores we’ve had this week nothing you can do though you can’t fight nature on my right still being a great watch though thoroughly enjoyed it I think the golf course and and people’s opinions of it are aging quite nicely yeah uh year by year I think the the subtlety is showing through the work that porg Harrington has done in the last few years as well being um consulted tweaked a few bunkers it’s all just really fine-tuning now okay second ahead of Lee here the par five1 only hit four out of the nine first nine greens that’s that’s not going to make for a low score on any course but this is a par five give us a power fade knock it on there make an eagle come on skip up skip up skip up all good so far lovely strike he’s going to have a look at it maybe the walk from 9 to 10 did him a little good 272 left to the flag for Victor holand less inviting angle though with that huge Mound that defends pretty much the entire grain you have virtually no control over it once it lands if if you’re trying to run this in from the right side it’s it’s in the lap of the Gods YF I think they settled on the uh the driving IR yep pins just to the right of that camera tower on the back along the edge of the rough line look like you’ve got an NBA players short of this screen swatting them away well this could be all right good shot I think that’s about as good as he was expecting and he’s played it extremely well on the scoring is good in places around the Renaissance club like I said earlier we’ve had a 62 already today from sewo Kim there it is shank shama is headed down the last one away of the course record held by benan and Cameron tring let’s remember that the uh three open spots are on the line so you’ve got Richard Manel who has four holes left to play he’s on a bit of a birdie run more than a bit actually he’s had seven birdies in the last nine holes and currently holds one of those places but there’s a lot of players yet to go out for their final rounds here so we might still need a couple more so these are where our players ended up down 14 not quite sure what happened with Marcel seam I’m sure boxy can fill us in how did he get over here just aiming for the uh the little down slope and missed it he was aiming for the left side and came over the top of it shut the club face down and pulled it but this if he’s going to play what I think he’s going to play which is a full swing good luck with that the other way of playing it is to pitch it short in the rough and try and let it trickle down but got to commit to this get this wrong it’s in the fth of fourth get this wrong it’s over at St Andrews on the other side of the bay he’ll be visiting other parts of Scotland if he blades it oh look at this oh oh fantastic oh man what a shot goodness me that is a full blooded swing that’s moved eight yards that takes some Talent that’s I was standing to the side of that Tony it came off that club face so quietly so softly and with such LOF it was unbelievable I used to have the intention of doing that occasionally and then I would completely bail out and go with an Aton and Chip it down the hill I just I didn’t have the heart well I think a lot of the film would have played a chip and run there yeah but it is quite severe the slow I mean you know even if you played a really good chip and run you wouldn’t have got it as close as he’s got it now if he gets that wrong he’s on he’s on deck three of that boat that we’re watching fortune favors the brave little topography to handle for Thomas boxy yes I like that word bit of left or right on this one for Justin Thomas uphill to start with and then flattens at the end so first 15 ft is going to give it it’s going to be quite slow up there good try little bit of meat lift on that burn there he’s a good patter Justin Thomas but his Pace has really really not been on song guts bass island is I think it’s the biggest colony in in Britain out on that big loan the furthest little mountainous island off the coast hland Eagle put this can turn a day around oh oh fine try it’s going to be a Sure Fire birdie for Victor hin back to 14 yeah where Thomas has kept his turn here just I don’t think there’s anything in this I think this is pretty straight seemed to run straight when it went past the hole no I’ll do I’ll do your head in today well for Justin Thomas I’m not sure what the takeaway will be except for maybe the the journey from one side of Scotland to the other and hopefully forget about the last three days remember what he did on day one 62 try and tap into that if he can Lee also with the eagle opportunity we haven’t seen too many Eagles this week could this be one of them you little devil somewhere between the two each would tap in fours so Lee moves to minus five back within one of where he started his round and Victor hovind’s done exactly that he’s back to level par now orbe it with just three of them four birdies two Bogies a double oh dear the ironic fist pump from Marcel seam he always wears his heart on his sleeve thankfully for him there’s been plenty of good stuff in his career to celebrate hi this is mim and these are my top five celebrations this is definitely my number one celebration that’s for sure well I ranked number one because that was um after I had a bad injury and chipping in in the playoff against Ross fer and Alex Levy um was pretty cool all right this is Madrid that was a very exciting celebration well again because all of a sudden you have a chance to shoot 59 uh which is very special I never achieved that before in my life it’s a it’s a proper celebration I don’t know what else is to come I would vote it as number three so this is Singapore pretty long p on the 18th what celebration number four long time ago I think that was wed in for the luckiest shot uh in a few years uh but uh I won a car there which I gave to my mom um that but I think it’s number five yeah that’s my first win at the D championship in hton Johannesburg 2004 it was a very emotional celebration but I think the the fist pump in China was number one so this is number two was nice to watch it back isn’t it just 20 years between winds wow that is a that’s a wonderful career so he’s won in 2004 he also won in 2014 he’s also W in 2024 not to mention uh the couple that came in between in Morocco and France as well six of them to his name after uh the recent Victory popular one in Italy now he’s up on 15 little nest of five bunkers down the right side of this Fairway just avoid those which he’s done and it creeps back onto the short grass second to play just in Thomas fairly flat this hole all the way there’s some bunkers down the right to be avoided going those you won’t be knocking it on there’s some really dark clouds in the distance hopefully you’re not going to get those no thank you let’s get buy it all Yes To Fine driver there ends up in the back right today a few Paces further back from where it was yesterday tucked over that right trap let’s go back to 11 Lee on the T should sud is shape nicely and does such a difference in swing Tempo with these two players Lee big wide gentle this is just brisk and Powerful even the wagle’s quick and that will certainly do the job we’ll have a nice angle into where the flag is today down 11 just four off that left Edge over by the bunkers Sweden over Scotland over Australia as we go into an Olympic season as well oberg by two sitting pretty at atus 177 the best score we’ve seen around the Renaissance Club over the years isus 22 he wouldn’t put it past him looks like he could shoot a 65 around this place in about fourth gear it was a 62 for SIU Kim shank sh is headed down the last but it looks as though he’s already hit four so hopefully he’s not going to drop one it always takes its prisoners took plenty yesterday including Tommy Fleetwood in round three but this is the final round of the Genesis Scottish open there is one of our prior Champions here in Xander Shuffle the world number three who returns to Renaissance as a major champion this year and this time around he says uh gosh that PJ win feels like it was light years ago back to 11 maybe just aiming for the left edge of the the TV tower you think TJ I like your thinking Ellie I like your thinking such a tiny little a area here if you trying to get it close here you see you got the up slope it’ll feedb anything left of that flag’s tugged though there’s no joy over there in those bunkers loads of them Absolute smattering of sand down 15 but these two have avoided all of it and uh Thomas is left with 178 to this back right pin there’s a front bunker which shouldn’t really come into play today from both these decent t-shots here and he’s just going to with the breeze off the right hand side just a a time for Thomas pin right over or be a little further back over that bunker oh but that has just covered lacking any kind of momentum out there today Justin Thomas yeah he just cut that ell a little bit left to right you know and the breeze not quite got his striking right today but he’s not going to win here but uh he wants to get off to a decent start obviously for next week Marcel see he’s never played TR either CAD was just asking me is it a good course I said it’s excellent this a good track isn’t it you know the the first seven holes all one way it kind of uh folds back on itself the first time you’re into the wind is the postage stamp at the eth yes then you want to enjoy the ninth because you’ve got in off the left Breeze coming back the old choo choo train down the right hand side on a couple of holes so I think from this side marel see 7 ey there his first two iron shots of the day where pulls left and long and I think that’s been in his mind all day Lee I think he likes it okay no problems not far away from a problem but it’ll do now here are the four Flags uh that we’ve seen on 15 the aforementioned round three flag over in a similar position today but it was uh just long and left of the bunker in round one and up on the left in round two where Victor hovin puted back up towards it to make his Birdie on Friday we go to him now we’ll be a few holes back at 11 he would have been disappointed with this second shot just a short IR in off a fabulous Drive quite a steep slope yeah just left himself horrible putt I think the frustration there is more from the second shot than the putt there’s uh 133 along the water just above it running parallel is is 15 in the same direction it’s one of the furthest points from the clubhouse 15 green 16 T that’s just to the left of our screen there’s a lot of variety in the Finish around uh theon’s Club well it’s gone quite hot now Alie the sun’s come out you enjoying that boxy sorry you you’re just lapping it up aren’t you well that’s is when you wish you had got the long sleeve jacket to take everything off you just said there were clouds two minutes ago well no there in the distance there is over towards the clubhouse it’s quite black I think there was a hint of blame being a portion to us in that boxy in that comment yes there was just a little bit now let’s see what Thomas can do with this one just a little pitch and run down the slope pitch it on the down slope let it run out here you absolutely have to use the Contours of the greens on the links courses with a chipping Le uh well I have no words take the boxing gloves off before you P that quite strange in that first really feet really really really strange about half and half of two surfaces little bit of a similar story here for Marcel seene yeah it is very much so I did actually chat to his CAD as caddy W normally the Cades go back to the te but he walked forward here I said that was some shot he played on the last he yeah he said he’s played as well last two weeks as he did in Italy said but he hasn’t got the same result he said but right now he’s fuming keep out of his way then tough to judge the uh the distance on the this one we had 94 puts in the first three days it’s not going to really please anyone that calls himself a professional and it goes for Victor hland Testament to his ball striking though with those putting numbers boxy that you know he made it through to the weekend in the first place yeah he just you know his K was saying it just hasn’t hold anything and uh you know it’s all about you know they can all play but you got to roll it in you roll those parts in you’re looking all right you always want to score better than you play not the other way around Tommy Fleetwood said that in his post round interview overnight in that goes it was a par in the end for Lee as we have a little look at 16 Tony yeah the last of the three par fives 576 yards of it very birdie bable opportunity and then 17 goes a right angle to that great little par three and then 18 back to the clubhouse and I’m very sad to say that shanka sha who is going so well finished with a triple bogy on 18 for a 65 oh that’s pain driver off the te here at the 16th for Marcel seam and that looks to be safely down the middle I think there it is it is ideal great Drive sweater off now for Justin Thomas also with the driver understandably so it’s a good drive but he still looks very disgruntled hasn’t he he hasn’t had a lot of fun out there today well finish off Eagle birdie birdie finish will make things feel a lot better to 12T y Le he’s one over par he’s said four Bogies three birdies never a great sign dear dear that’s a wide and a Mis Q try and gauge the pace on that part golf is not easy these guys make it look so easy at times best in the world but it’s just a tough game at any level little change in wind today has made a difference they’ve just had to get their thinking caps on replan a lot of their their shots yeah tough tough flag to get close to on that little Plateau that’ll be slow f and fourth so many wonderful golf courses this side and so many more wonderful golf courses that side golfing Heaven these are the three par fives at the Renaissance Club nicely spread out 310 and 16 only three of them five par three so it’s a par 70 you I get good drives away really looking you’re thinking Birdie on all of them maybe Eagle but you miss Fairways the game is on looks quite nice out there right now doesn’t it I’m sure you’re enjoying it Richard nothing better than a a stroll out on the links crowds have been good yeah the crowds have been excellent they’ve uh they’ve drawn a reasonable crowd with them to be fair so the group in front just finishing out flag back in flag’s 19 on four from the left here at the 16th and the players from back there can’t see a thing can’t see the flag at all so they’ll go forward and try and pick a line ideal really if you can knock it down the right half of this green pitch it some 25 30 yard short and it should should kick a little bit left sometimes it kicks right then that leaves you a long chip if you go Mr the green left here you’ve got no green to work with so it’s right side you want 253 yards still a bit of Breeze out there boxy not really now Tony no it really isn’t I’m just trying to see if I can see some Flags anywhere then there’s nothing fluttering at all no there’s not uh it picks up every now and then but it’s not even it’s not even half a club when it blows it’s nothing so know when there to upset your bon no my hairs I use a little bit of that uh that gel which firms it up a bit boxy a better product yeahoo had to do that you spoil us Richard what do you think boxy will they fly it all the way or use that slope cuz you can land this 30 yard short of the green and Chase it if you prefer can’t you 253 take 19 off that that’s what 43 33 34 234 you could pitch that on the front quickly to Lee after missing the green short left on 12 it’s one of the best chips he’s played today good touch so from 253 I a little further forward has he got the iron out there he has yeah so he’s if to see whether he can pitch this on the front 234 the front or he knocks it right and draws it in from right to left and uses the slopes get in the hole don’t be silly yeah the draw was the plan you see him just sort of roll that right hand over but the strike wasn’t there no and he’s kick right as well into the right semi yeah 247 very luckily there’s a spectator there with a with a beer about 8T High telling me it’s just fallen off to the right I just said that’s very handy thank you just anything that can just creep up and over that front edge from here B yeah if you just get it a little too far right like Marcel did it catches the slope and kicks right just a smidge under 250 left for Justin Thomas oh that was unlucky oh no he’s done well now look at that I’m going to P my hand out there’s a nice little fough there if you pict it on in the front left corner that feeds it back to the flag we know how good he is so whatever is wrong it’s the smallest thing hland this is slow up the tier there and just about perfectly judged for Speed well done Dave Stockton from long range slow Parts always used to say try and keep the putterhead low do so many people take such a big swing that the strike isn’t always guaranteed right out of the center helps a little bit with that hin did well from over there he’s level PA of the round today it’s been a a tale with many chapters like golf in Scotland always seems to be Alex nens in a Purple Patch he’s just gone four in a row from 3 4 five and six he’s headed down seven now and he’s on the front page of the leaderboard not yet qualified for the open Alex noren could the swed get a spot here this afternoon was just a delight watching ludig oag yesterday even though he had that little patch where he dropped two shots at 11 and 12 then uh the poter started working and he had 25 of them out there all day long granted that’s cuz the ball striking wasn’t quite as on song as it had been in the previous two rounds only hit 12 grain here on Saturday that triple bogy of shanka shamas he was lying 14th playing 18 He now tied 37th one triple bogy on the final hole he’ll need a few days to forget that there’s plenty of good just to finish that way whenever you’ve got to scroll down for someone’s name and it’s someone has as lovely as sheban K sh yeah that’s not a nice thing to do round of 69 out there today for Max Homer who was overpowering the early stages of his round little things out with birdies at 14 and 16 we back down with Marcel SE at 16 yeah he’s got a lot of green to work with here Ali this shouldn’t be too much of a problem from where he is he’s got a good lie he would think 4T or less from here really he get up and down virally every time from here when you’re playing a little friendly that’s disappointing you can see it slumped shoulders he’s a better chipper than that result so a little awkward birdie part ahead of Marcel same eagle part ahead of Justin Thomas though he’s had four Bogies just one birdie way back at the seventh so an eagle would be a big boon excellent second shot in from Thomas here just a little bit of right to left on it just for an eagle oh just wondering you know he h a putt from 42 ft earlier in the weekend it was the longest put hold all season and I’m just wondering if it’s to do with the pace because his Pace on the longer PS has looked really poor today I wonder if it’s that more than line unless then convincing her various times over to 13 late up on that top shelf avoids the bunkers back to S yeah that wasn’t his best chip at all uh Tony I heard you say there he’s a much better chipper than that just needed to Nick knock it a little further right down the slope here for his for just step away from Marcel remove the microphone put your hands away from the bag when he puts the putter back in if there was animation there’d be steam coming out of his ears right now that’s a shame it feeds back to the the second in the chip put a lot of stress on his putter that three wood for hland seems happy enough two good t- shots at 13 nice angle into the flag too I can just use the the right to left slope of The Fringe just underneath the uh the picture of l l NRI there is muscle butter as well there one right in the heart of the race course the sixth oldest golf course in the world Royal muscle bar North baric North Barrack is so much fun it’s a little kids course the Wii course as it’s called called right next to it that uh expands out under the Marine hotel where I know a lot of players are staying so it’s a a great reminder of why you play this uh amazing game you see the kids out there till 10 p.m. at night doing a spot of fishing Maybe actually saw a couple of kayakers going out around fidra I thought that would be quite the journey going and having a look at the coast lines of that bass rock as well fancy that for next year Tony nope there’s a reason why we were given motorized engines 17 another superb par three and a naughty little flag there today it’s 22 on but it’s up there in between a whole bunch of little slopes come up anywhere short of it online and it feeds way down to that leftand Fringe and you end up with a 45 or 50t P up over a steep tier whoever wins today is going to have had great control of his iron play cuz they are small little targets they have left the players huge targets of the graen but so many places where you’ve got no chance at all of really having a crack at your birdie part great test of course management too if you’re going to miss it Miss it on the right side so yeah I think it’s going to be a lot of fun later in the day the final groups be a good battle certainly got the the wetter side of the draw yesterday after we’d finished our morning feature group uh coverage then the rain started to fall and fell for quite some time some rain overnight as well wasn’t all heavy but you’re supposed to sleep at night Ellie you’re supposed you’re not supposed to know this stuff the puddles in the morning you’re been away it’s either that or a broken sprinkler good view there of uh that little kind of null that’s guarding the pin position here on 17 today couple of cars up for grabs as well we’ve mentioned it a few times and I think it’s worth another one the Genesis gv60 would go to a player should their uh to a cadd I should say should their player make a hole in one in the electrified gv70 it’s worth £80,000 to the player we have seen it gone go off before in Years Gone by Jordan Smith and his caddy at the time Sam can’t I can’t work out which action was better I think it was Sam’s which I’m sure you can understand some colorful characters out on the DP World Tour the historical final day position is down in the left hand side of the green on the flat but this is this is a fairly new PIN position I think I can’t remember seeing it where it is today it asks a few questions 203 to the pin as you were saying into the breeze I think this a 6 IR there today no give me the call give me the call just dug its heels into the last remaining two feet I think of that ball great shot though from Justin Thomas over to 13 Lee looks like he’s trying to fade it in from left to right and getting it utterly wrong well when there’s a caddy caddy when there’s a car up for the caddy the caddy must be saying I think it’s about 3 ft right here just right to the hole make sure it runs out some priz that I think it’s a great gesture to give two cars away I’d love to see Marcel’s reaction if you hold it nope no that isn’t going in the hole oh down the bottom tier H none of the four guys in our two GRS have really fired even close to on all cylinders today those are the four flags for the week round two was a an edgy one over on the right round three was very I thought we’d have a hole in one yesterday with that left hand flag for round three I thought somebody would bring it off that right hand slope and feed it into the hole and today’s is just tough back to 13 with Lee long hland on the way holding the finish too similar story is there something strange happening with the wind coming off the sea and around those trees flag dead still I can’t see a reason why they’d be that far out got a little help that they’re unaware of perhaps it’s been a real roller coaster ride for Justin Thomas this week the 62 been testing that club in his hand the new putter the last few weeks back in the country where he made his debut in the Alfred Dunhill links as a as a pro we jump over to 13 and Lee through the green feel it’s stabby action wasn’t it just drop the club on the ball just ensure it nudges forwards and catches the slope that was well gauged to be honest it looked to me like a massive deceleration I thought he had duffed at first but he had a plan man with a plan worked out in the end you know I think maybe the reason these guys are long alley they one over par and Par they’re lying nowhere in the field and it’s a case of well let’s the flag’s right at the back let’s just attack let’s have some fun on the way in and try and make some kind of a score nice wait you almost have a a little nine or six hole match put something on on the line with your caddy they’re always trying to find some kind of motivation for you on a day that has been a struggle safe to say for for most of our players in the feature group never ceases to amaze me though with Marcel seim how quickly he came back from his hip injury it was only his fourth start that he won in uh after his return to tournament golf quickly back into the winner circle difficult one to judge this coming from this lower level is pting up a very steep so it’s a huge great hump in front of him so he’s got to get this uphill to start with right to left all the way anywhere 2 ft or less is a good P from here yeah the TV screen doesn’t illustrate the difficulty of trying to gauge that pet now and I’ve had a look at the line on this one this one of is so steep down to the hole here he was actually unlucky not to get a little bit of a a run out it wouldn’t have been far off H holding it you know if he pitched about another foot further fit another fot further it’s close another foot further been a long day but uh getting very confused with the English language now anyway back to the day job I think this I think it moves right to left it’s one of those oh it’s like an optical illusion really look at it one side it looks one way look at it the other it looks like the other way when when you look at something like that it’s normally best to hit it straight and pretty Swift boxy yeah he thinks it’s right to left what does the cad get a spare wheel for that two birdies in a row Justin Thomas will get a boost at least yeah one more off the last hole and you walk off here with a positive vibe don’t you and then he’s got a couple of days days to just find the form that he displayed in round one because it was fantastic on day one 62 I read a fascinating stat that no one’s had more rounds of 62 or lower on the PJ tour in the last 40 years than Justin Thomas not even tiger wow and that’s what he shot on day one can be done it’s how we got to world number one accidentally rhymed P part for scene good one in the end had to work hard for that three working hard for it out there today cter ent’s bag with Venom just the one left ahead for them five ahead of our other pair that of Jung Juan Lee and Victor hland both fairing a little better since they made the turn one underpath since the walk from 9 to 10 a little bruised and battered on the front line probably only see what the top half or so of this flag today Tony yeah I think yeah I mean it’s it’s an elevated tea but yes you’re going down over undulations and a mound short of the green it’s a it’s a shot when the wind is into and off the right it is the most horrible par three to try and pick the right clip you’ll see guys going with eight irons anything from eight to three iron much easier today shouldn’t be too much of an issue pulling the right machine it’s playing 164 but it is cut on a little shelf on the left it’s got to be online hello hello now look at that look at that such a good shot and it still just just keeps breaking keeps breaking 40 ft right throw it over there a similar way very appetizing parts from anything outside 20 ft over on that right hand side to where the flag is just creeps its way you’ve got a landing area there about 3 yards by two yards that you can land it on to get it close quite a demanding shot excellent contact there from Thomas yeah down the dividing of the faway almost beautiful two bunkers down the right not a problem they can clear that it’s just trouble down the left you don’t want to be going oh down the left the only consolation is that the flags over on the right today down the left with the flag on the left yesterday was deadly Richard Mansel has had an amazing day to race through the field he’s into the top 10 he’s not yet qualified for the open next week and he’s eight underpath of the round with a bogey in the mix it’s been an entertaining watch or be it Lively here at Renaissance Nicholas norgard who came so close to Nao ala is’s four on to paath through 10 he’s just made consecutive birdies around the turn is the defending Champion golfer of the year and Brian Harmon who’s also up to double digits courtesy of uh Oki free three and theath at the moment he’s headed down the 11th a 65 in the end for shank Kama it promised so much Birdie down the last would have tied the course record instead signed for a triple bogey seven it’s just brutal with out a 62 from sew Kim out there today so it can be done as we get down to 14 with Victor hovland just another one of those approach shots the t- shot in here at 14 that kind of proves your point Tony that you you know you do need Precision with your irons cuz you give yourself what one out of 10 from down there absolutely and and know these guys have had those sort of puts a lot of the day today you’re not going to be shooting low scores when you’re always putting tough putts from 35 or 40 ft it just does it happens very rarely where you have a freak day with a pter so with and and they’re so difficult these greens even the even the 10 and 12 Footers are hard to read there’s so much undulation on the grain so the further it sounds you know very obvious but the further away you are the more of that you have to deal with and it’s and it’s significant here way more so than the vast majority of venues both tour has head to around the world this for birdie racing oh I’m glad the hole got in the way that was 6 or8 ft by suddenly gave it a run he’s got a lie off that wide t-shot can he control it he’s got a little mini flyer but a grass between club and ball and slides over the back 184 left for Thomas of a good drive here at this 18th Breeze moving slightly off the left perfect place so back right pin just aim at the middle of the grand stand little bit of left to right on it should feed back to the hole slightly raised green 6 IR toe line shoulder line left of the flag out to in swing trying to hit a little fade I think you chased after that seven there needed the six like box he said look at the strike as well he said uh throughout the week if he could play any style of golf for the rest of his life it would be lyx it’s a bit of a a LoveHate relationship at time it never ceases to amaze places like at Royal TR where we’re going next week St Andrews as well when you walk the golf course in different conditions how you can look and you can go that bunker is never going to be in play and then you find yourself right in the middle of it 24 hours later me conditions shift yeah on these links courses it and takes a change of 10 or 15° in the wind and it’s an entirely different test really does force you to tap into the creative side of your brain and news just in Richard Manel has birdied up ahead a few moments ago this 18th hole for a 61 to equal the course record so that score is just been confirmed so now there are three that hold that number Ben an Cameron tringali who did his in 2022 Ben was the first round last year the final round for Richard Mansel and that is going to go a long way in trying to get him a spot and a birth at Royal TR next week how exciting fantastic isn’t and he’s started off the day par bogy you know straight away you’re thinking oh no this wasn’t what I wanted and then boom follow it with nine bir 10 birdies 10 birdies that’s a lot now where’s this ended up for Marcel SC foxy oh there it is well it’s it’s um finished work quite well over the back actually right to left pitch coming back the move all the way just lean that shaft forward a little bit keep the face just don’t break the wrists played it nicely get it excellent kept the club accelerating through impact that was the big the big absolute looks like it’s been a long day for him doesn’t it and he’s going to brush it in I think he’s he’s had enough for Sunday looking a little beaten and battered Le hovin can’t start thinking that way yet there’s still four holes left ahead including this 15th will that hang on yeah should do it’s in the red today 15 right or about uh the middle of the pack in difficulty only two birdies so far down the 18th today it is the hardest hole Justin Thomas wants to change that here yes this would be a nice way to finish three birdies left to right all the way across here very good try well at least the rounds finished off in style birded 16 17 good good solid par at 18 something to wrap your head around go and work on for the next few days it’s not all bad this week’s been a little bit of an analogy of I think his years so far he’s either been in the top 12 or he’s been well down the pack uh in half his starts inside the top 12 this year Justin Thomas but just hasn’t challenged the win looks like a pair of battered human beings coming off there I think they needed a hug but they tried to liit Well Done Lads so it was a 71 in the end for Justin Thomas as uh Victor hovland sends that down 15 level past 70 for Marcel seam so they both finish the day at minus 4 just outside the top 60 in the rough for hland final pair remaining out there on the golf course but when you look at the way that the back n is playing right now everything is par or better except for the 18th so there is going to be a lot of opportunity late in the round as Richard Mansel has proven to all of us a scintillating 61 the best score of the week and he’s inside the top five how cool in the final round last year’s US Open Champion there in Windam Clark he’s looking much more convincing today especially since uh he’s hit the back 94 in the last six he’s headed down the par 516 so chance for another six under par and uh up to 11 under total man long gask continues to impress he’s just made Birdie down four plenty of these players are just in the infancy of their rounds today we have less than an hour until our leaders tee off fact there’s just five groups remaining to be announced back there by Alis Scott in his second roll X Series event of the Season there is hland in that group at minus 6 we have a couple of extra looks coming home from uh what we’ve seen see will Kim birdied all four from 15 in for his 62 we get back out with the action now 15 don’t get too cute with this out of the rough left of the bunker you’d think it’s going to come out with very little spin unless he produces a miracle to get it close to that flag is not really on where did it go couldn’t see it look at that all of the Bogies have come from down that left side in fact no one’s hit it in the right sand today so far granted that’s probably a little bit of the the switch of the wind would have been predominantly uh into off the left just ahead for most of the morning rounds today 181 yards left ahead of Lee at 15 should suit his eye nicely yeah good shot other adjectives he one over couple of birdies coming home would be rather tasty yeah wouldn’t it so many activations on site so much golfing for good in uh 2023 Scott Stewart was diagnosed with motor neuron disease and after years of attending the Genesis Scottish open as a fan he played the role of the honorary starter on the pr on Wednesday in a bid to raise awareness for the my name doy foundation and all of their great work with M andd imagine you’re being told you have a condition that on average will be the end of your life in two to 3 years m andd is my present thankfully I can look back at my life and think that I don’t carry regrets you know one of my best memories ever it’s saw your whole one amazing as much as you can sit there and grieve for maybe a future that you thought you have you have to live in the present and do everything you can do I might feel like I’m three down with three to play we’ve not reached the 18th scen the final part hasn’t been sunk so you keep going and you see what happens while you get there currently there is no known cure for M andd and the average life expectancy following diagnosis is between 2 and 3 years if you feel like donating if you were touched by Scott Stewart’s uh story amongst many more that suffer from the disease you can go to my name 5.co and contribute or uh check out M andd Scotland or the M andd Association for more information and uh hopefully with more awareness and uh more funding they can find something that helps Scott has been a massive supporter of this event over the past we’re with them all the way yeah yeah we sure are hland we weren’t sure where this had gone that was nicely played it was more like it little bit of Rhythm in the chipping stroke but a touch it’s all a bit chipping is all a little bit too rigid mechanical I think just need to get a get a bit of feel involved you know science can only take you so far but somewhere along the line vision and feel have to take apart whether it’s chipping or putting you you can’t take out F purely with science you can’t nice shot in from uh J Juan Lee he managed to find himself an uphill put there’s not much to work with over there it’s only five off the edge that he’s pretty much going to be standing on seen a couple just jump aad from The Fringe but he doesn’t have to too much to deal with here at least back to the put he hit from pin high on 11 got knocked about a bit he only got 2T to navigate through and he’s absolutely blown that by not to be fully just uh see if Victor hin can salvage a power I liked his chip played it really well I like it just trickled on a little down that slope but come on Victor pop one in stay at even par for the day hasn’t been a fun ride four birdies two bogeys a double bogey nice it’s rounded up in style Mr hin little Eagle birdie birdie finish not a lot to ask it’s doble then uh birdie birdie 16 and 17 yesterday just a little knee knocker coming back little slippery left to right put yet to see an eagle down 16 so far today to make f so as they make the walk from uh 15 or be it short over to the par five why don’t we take a look at the par five TJ yeah it’s I mean you have to be thinking particularly for these guys at the back end of the field give me an eagle 576 yards four bunkers down their left two little nests of two furthest one’s 332 yards out if you could just creep it by those get it on the Fairway and then the front of that green you got that little Hollow that little saddle if you can somehow feed it in there you’ll give yourself an opportunity for Eagle but at worst you want to be walking off here with a birdie avoid that pot bunker left whatever you do whatever you do cuz we might never see you again adios it’s great the way that they’ve um constructed a lot of the bunkers around this golf course in terms of stacking the turf old school look on it on a kind of semi new school link style golf course it was opened in 2008 Tom do the designer yeah it’s a bit of a lost art that revetting of bunkers it’s a specialist job and they do impact visually don’t they ton of room out right if you go anywhere near those bunkers oh did I speak too soon no that’s good that’s beautiful minus one yard had a few to spare though we’ll be on the up slope for the next now hland just that right half would be perfect and that’ll do nice that’ll do beautifully and it’s a new look season on the DP World Tour this year and Ali wha is going to talk us through it five Global swings showcase the different cultures and courses the DP World Tour visits each with their own identity and a host of New Opportunities and rewards to play for the overall top performers of the global swings will be rewarded with qualific a into phase two of the season the back nine with 10 spots given to the highest ranked players on the race to Dubai who haven’t already qualified each Global swing will have its own champion who will qualify for phase two of the season and will earn $200,000 from an overall $1 million bonus pull five swings will also offer qualification into the first three Rolex series events with the global swings complete the tour season enters into phase two the back nine the race Heat up with national opens and historic venues with increased ranking points on offer the top 70 players in the race to Dubai rankings at the end of the back nine will advance to the brand new DP World Tour playoffs it starts the Abu dhab Championship where the top 70 players who compete for the iconic title will be Whitted down to just 50 at the week’s end next we head to Dubai to compete for the season ending DP World Tour Championship where players will make one last Sprint to the Finish Line in a bid to be crowned the race to Dubai champion this new schedule brings in exciting new opportunities for players to elevate themselves and their careers as the competition across the three phases is increased so that every week counts they’ve almost been like a mini order of merits haven’t they the global swing with menw Lee taking it out after his victory at the Australian PGA Rory took the next after taking the hero Dubai Desert Classic amazingly Sebastian Soderberg played so consistently well that he took the Asian swing without a victory and stamped his spot at the PGA Championship in Valhalla and then just recently it was Guido motti after his victory in the Netherlands that took the European swing good lad so we’re in week one of our closing swing the last of five and then into the back nine with so many historic championships just like this one the national opens they mean so much to these players we’ve got that to look forward to so this is the closing swing over on the right the Isco championship and the Barracuda Championship both over in the USA and they’re co-sanctioned with the PGA Tour and we go to the Czech Republic and then to Denmark for the Danish Golf Championship which is uh moved to Aus this year after being in himand for the last uh little while they just wanted to wait until they got a Danish winner and then they could move it Rasmus obliged for their first ever uh Danish winner on Danish soil that was great fun to watch six holes with nacho El in the playoff it was a lengthy day but worth the wait so there’s the elevation change down 16 and really thought I mean it’s kind of No Man’s Land the the 30 yard short of that front edge can just deflect the ball any which direction yeah if you’re you know into a wind and you’re a long way back going with with a metal wood you would think about using it from these two Super t- Shots I would think if you can get it online pitch it on the front edge in line with a flag you’re going to get a result blind second would have picked their line picked something in the background a tree or a edge of the TV tower asking it to sit why that’s why he knew he knew he was just hoping for the right soft bounce and unfortunately off a really good shot he got the hard one look at that that’s a way better shot than the result but that’s Link’s gol for you even three Paces short of where it landed I think it would have dug in its heels a little bit more and held that back Edge I think hin hit exactly the shot that we we wanted him to hit unlucky Lee won’t have seen where that’s finished you’ll be wondering why there wasn’t a little bit of Applause cuz it looked so good how about that how about that which just demonstrates how close hin shot was to being absolutely fantastic that’s as good a shot as we’ve seen today actually from our feature groups yeah part coming if you are spending your day with us uh I know you’re spoiled for choice at the moment we’ve got Wimbledon and the Euros as well England versus Spain why don’t we hear a couple of predictions from our players oh this is e kidding me Spain’s going to smash him that’s tough but we’re in Scotland so I’m going to go for Spain no brainer that one it’s England there’s nothing like watching England lose is there oh my gosh for your country sake I’m taking England I mean I lived in England for a long time so let’s go England it’s about time isn’t it like the rest of Europe I think it’s coming home I mean I’m French what are you expecting football’s coming home it’s coming home I want you know who I’m pulling for it ain’t coming home there we go go spin this one’s obvious I mean you allall 16 scores I don’t care we won we lost I don’t care because it’s our time it’s written in the stars oh o I’m might go with England because they’re the better team and I’m in Scotland I know more players on the England team I’m not sure everyone played by the rules there Tony no there’s a lot of cheating going on I don’t know what the the actual the correct score and Telly would have been we’ll never know it’s going to be a it’s going to be a lovely final though oh this is this is the best shot he’s hit all day and he knows it the sound of it the quality of strike you know what if you put a a coin down on the green there and told him to hit it I think he might have that was Perfection that’s more of the quality he’s used to providing over on the Korean PGA Tour got some great golf courses over there you’ve been over for a President’s Cup haven’t you yeah no it’s got some Great Courses I wonder how often he’s played Links Golf could be very new to him you know just it’s quite a learning experience he’s certainly making his debut here the Scottish open now hland that’s when you got to come and see a links course at Dawn or dusk when the the sun is low you stand and you think scratch your head and think my goodness I didn’t realize there was there was this much Happening Now bump and run it bump and run it land it four yards on the green he’s gone see yeah I think it’s worth a shake of the head I mean really you want to get that on the ground and running quickly three or four yards on the green you take the bounce out of it you take the check out of it you just it’s an extension of a putt there wasn’t enough in that to have left himself this coming back well this is still left I should say for birdie I think it might still be hland be Le’s Eagle Eagle pot there a lot of hand movement in here from Tony Johnston I can guarantee you that hland is just as frustrated by his chipping you know 100 fold over everyone else doubt no doubt because everything else is so good but you know as I said earlier you know he’s got exemptions he’s got time on his side he’s a young man honestly if I if I was his advisor I’d say here we go you’re going to take three months off and we’re going to find a chipping coach and somebody’s going to teach you visualization and feel when you come back you’ll have the full complement of skills it must be so frustrating being so good in every other department and you’ve got one major flaw and he still wins that’s how good the rest of it is shut me up Victor and roll it in shut me up okay thank you Victor thank you Victor I’m very happy now it worked in the end much due to the uh putt after so he’s a a dash of red at the par five he’s up to seven underp and in the red for the first time today or not quite he was he was in the red early on after his birdie at four but it just seems like a very long time ago but this is an eagle chance we are yet to see one at 16 could it come from our final feature pair hasn’t looked like getting under par today for the round and this would get him into red numbers we’d love to see it yes nice and sadly here and hogland are both one under birdie and an eagle that was worth waiting for that second I think it is the best shot we’ve seen in our feature groups all day amongst the four well this is the sort of shot he’s renowned for in the Asian tour the ability to strike long high long irons anybody around that green was has had a treat watching that and a little bit of a a beacon of yellow on the scorecard of Lee who is now under par as well one under par that is so he and hovin both at seven under the card and there is the score sitting pretty if Richard Mansel fair play got Windam Clark who’s just birdied the last three at 15 16 and 17 who’s headed down the last just one off 61 as it stands Rory maroy just got his day started he’s par the first lots of coverage coming your way from the Genesis Scottish after Scottish open into the afternoon got there in the end how cool was it earlier in the week from Alejandro delay the last man in the field on Wednesday and he went out and shot a 62 with six consecutive birdies to start his campaign on Friday and there’s loads of Race To Do buy points and big money up for grabs for a number of these players it could be a total game changer for their entire season quite right a couple of guys over par there today Matt Jordan Max kefir but generally speaking it’s subar numbers especially at the top half of the field hin and Lee suddenly both underpar we’ve waited a while for that so if they I think it felt like they were uh trying to walk through quick sand on that front nine it’s been better on the back Lee three under uh since the Turn hin 2 yeah the front n it looked like they were trying to swim through tree just going absolutely nowhere it’s the nature of the game it’s the nature of the game it can give so much but it can give you a kicking too and you better be tough or you won’t be doing this for a living for long it is a testament to what you need from uh between the years the optimism if you can find it even after a tough day like that of Justin Thomas came home in two under power in the last three well done to him as we get down to the 17th that back flag let’s see how close people have been getting average proximity of over 36 ft Tony I can understand it too I mean this this pin position is I don’t actually know other than by sheer fluke how you can get it really close to this hole it’s just surrounded by all sorts of slopes you come up short you’re 50 ft away to the left you go left you’re 50 ft away to the left you pitch it just short of the hole it squirts through the back cuz it’s landing on a little down slope the only way you can really get it close here is with a a little right to left little draw pitching at five yards short short of the flag and probably 6 or seven yards short 5 yards right it’s about the only way you get to get it close minuscule Target and a perfect shot required see if Lee can build on the Eagle at the last Horror Story What A P that is oh my if he’s going to straddle that line we better give him about 15 minutes to do it cuz he’s got up slopes down slopes side slopes oh goodness all sorts on this screen if you’re out of position you’ve got a a 4-footer at best for par from some places around it well the second into the previous hle was a flusher really was he didn’t get the result he deserved but it was pure let’s have another one no not too bad well it is a delight though to be back at the home of golf this week and what a pretty picture it paints for those who love this great game Scotland where ancient history and breathtaking Landscapes come together in a Timeless Symphony set against the breathtaking backdrop of Scotland’s rugged Coastline the Renaissance club offers one of the toughest challenges Scotland has to offer since 1972 this prestigious tournament has carved its place in history attracting the finest Tal and creating Unforgettable WS with its deep rooted Heritage passionate fans and a landskap that has inspired golfers for centuries where history Challenge and Beauty meet to test the world’s best player and a bid to be Crown Champion the Genesis Scottish it’s quite the honor rooll Tony those that have taken the Scottish open over in the past hey you get your name on that trophy you’ve got some great company haven’t you yeah Monty Ernie Els retif I mean the the list is is quite remarkable Luke Donald as well Rose Michelson not to mention Rory maroy for the first time 12 12 months ago and he had to hit he said it was one of the best shots of his career easily a top three shot that two ironing hit into the green on the 72nd to take it all in our previous Edition this is number 42 of this historic event he’s had two Bogies on 17 Victor hland bogy didn’t round one and two birdied it yesterday 27t 5 in today but it’s not the easiest 27t 5 in to negotiate here we are he’s trying to size this up want Lee can do from over there well explain to me all the straddling in the world doesn’t tell you anything about Pace putting’s 90% speed I mean this is I’m utterly be amused by it all we couldn’t tell you you really you hide it well have you can you see my face starting to flush getting a little red in here either way it’s a a birdie chance F Le two very distinct different Paces throughout it though not to mention the movement two puts two puts would be really good here settle settle settle you know what that prary was I think that’s a pretty darn good pack to be honest it’s a little bit long but it’s you could get that r ridly wrong from there can be nice and assertive on the one coming back now that was worth coming out to see today just for that future of the game young lady loving it you know that’s what I saw Victor holand do this is how he does it I must practice that next weekend we were all there at one point Ellie we were yeah and the uh Love of the Game the women’s Scottish open has come here before Stacy Lewis tooken in I think it was a four-way playoff in 2020 former world number one so they’ve been uh friends to both sexes of the game now holand might have picked up a little from the pace of Le slightly different angle yeah he should have leared a lot good time it’s actually quicker down there than it appears doesn’t it that is sneakily fast well they’ve had the luxury the fact that at the start of the week we were pretty convinced that there wasn’t going to be huge Gusty winds so you know all of the team here on site were able to get the greens up and over you know up to about 11 and a half uh throughout the week which is much quicker than we’ve had in previous editions Jamie Aken and all of his team have done a brilliant job absolutely well to them we haven’t mentioned them enough this week condition of the course has been fabulous right don’t give the one of those you picked up at 16 back here with uh anything clunky from short range deserves better than that from Lee very good it did go in and up to 18 we go I thought it was my eyes Ellie I thought I was having a bit of an aberration there not this time there’s only two birdies that have been seen all day long down this final hole 351 to get to the end of the Fairway they came from uh Richard Mansel who shot 61 and sew Kim who shot 62 so in other words you have got to be having I mean a day of your life to be able to find a final dash of red can see the slope just to the left of it but the bunkers on the right take no prisoners that’s how you feel when you’re ludig obber and you’ve got the lead just gliding cruising there is an element of that about him isn’t there yeah yeah it sort of floats across the ground doesn’t he I think it’s going to be really important for uh for Robert McIntyre to kind of use the crowd to his advantage today because they love oberg as well yeah uh both rookies on the European Ridder Cup team this past year in Marco Simone oberg with uh hland getting the biggest margin of Victory ever in a match yeah going to be a tremendous finish today I think you got that feeling Lee uhoh that’s just come off sliding sideways off the face and he’s actually driven it very well today that’s unusually hard if you drive it down this Fairway get it in the middle of this Fairway on the short grass the pin position’s actually not bad it’s right half but there’s a a slope left to the flag you can use that to feed it in but step one get it on the fair it’s those bunkers those yawning bunkers that play Havoc with your mind cuz every one of them is bad news miss them miss them miss all of them NOP in she goes how will their tale end our final pair on the course how will it end for ludvig oberg as well here in Scotland at the Genesis Scottish open later today like come on this is where our story began Scotland the plot Upon A Shore in Allegiance was formed Golf and the lyns but is this new companion friend or fool you see the wind here has a local dialect learn the language or fall at its per all right into the gor Bush only the brave can conquered this land and reaped its rewards Legends edged their name into history truly Sensational shs that are for the Chosen Few only hidden deep in these roots are the tales of old Scottish open Champion is Ian Wen yet within the grass you’ll find Challengers of new seeking to State their clim he’s got it and the Scottish open has its youngest wiow and walk these Fairways just like the greats before them but still the script is unpredictable the script isn’t fair Heroes rise as hard as they fall you see this is Gulf country this is Scotland and the best part of the story there is no final scene the script continues it’s time of the next chapter in our story this is the Rolex series it’s time for the Genesis Scotti OG it is time and uh the final pair is only 9 minutes away from teeing off everyone else is out on the golf course anine Rosner is Birdie the first so he’s up to minus 14 the perfect start he’s one of those in search of a birth over on the west side of Scotland so many good golf courses turnbury over there presswick as well it’s only about a 2hour drive or so from where we are this week com for the players many of them on the time zone now as well and it’s different enough next week in terms of a style of golf course that you can kind of semi forget this week you know it’s it’s not two of the same correct you know you will have learned lessons here your Link’s lessons you know not so much in terms of playing in the wind but you know the bump and runs and you know thinking your way around a course with pot bunkers but yeah you’re right and I’ll tell you what the rough at trun next week oh my goodness you know this is long but it’s wispy the rough at trun is not quite as long I don’t think unless it’s grown a lot in the last week but it’s dense at the bottom so driving accuracy this is Brave by hland wow can he get this up over that lip without much wow if he can pick this up over that lip with that straight face the club it’ll be a Marvel I’ll be astonished if I can do this and I would have been and and he’s got you know it’s not just the lip he’s got the long wispy grass I would mean I think I would have been thinking sand wedge or gap wedge and I would have been trying to get it out 30 yards up the Fairway but he’s a lot stronger and he’s got the ability to to launch it quickly in the meantime Lee gouging from down that right hand side I think you found a patch of thick stuff didn’t he probably done quite well I want I want to see this I want to see if he can do this good grief I think that’s amazing we just pick Tony’s jaw up off the floor I think that is amazing that he’s bantag to do that I mean the wall all of the rough down the left isn’t that great to say see Scottish golf looks healthy if the golf courses along this stretch of land is any indication of what’s happening in the rest of the country there are so many Juniors out till sunet at night when you see Mom and Dad pull the car around and come pick them up crowds have been excellent all week they’ve been out early and they’ve been out here in everything and most of it in shorts or short sleeves they are a hearty bunch but they are one of the most educated crowds in the world perhaps number one great day for the family but they know when the wind gets up sometimes 30 ft is good they know from experience that alone for the best players in the world I think it’s a nice touch though lending three places uh to the Korean PGA that’s what the game’s all about yeah 100% I mean that is growing in the game get them get them over here from all over the globe you know we had a couple of spots at the Jo open you get some in the O events you want the most diverse and best field in the world at the Open Championship and they get it such a privilege as well to be able to travel and play this game learn different styles of golf courses the next two weeks is certainly that I can’t tell you how much I wish Richard boxel had still been out there to watch that shot that Victor hland hit cuz he would have been like me jaw on the ground I couldn’t hit that shot off of an 8 in Peg unbelievable get it up so quick with so much power to get to here now short of it it’s unbelievable chip and a putt come on Victor less Loft more along the ground go on go on go on yes nice touch thanks I mean it was never a four from that bunker never I genu when when I saw where it was I thought he was going out sideways 50 yards up the Fairway I really want him to make a par Lee bit of indecision here he had the pter no no don’t go with Loft if you’re going to change go to a 79 I think he’s going back to a poter now yeah quite right little bit of a a change in Turf about halfway see how it rolls through there he’s all right just didn’t hit it yeah yeah that’s the joy of Link goth I mean you know you had the option of four or five clubs you could have used there minimum probably the percentage shot was the putter just just forgot to hit it be curious uh what his takeaways are from this week youngan Lee he’s not uh not headed to Royal trune next week so it’s a little bit of a oneand done just such a special place to visit though this stretch of land north baric Edinburgh one of the best cities in the world to be fair there’s a a little bit more to see and do on this stretch than there is over on the the west side where we’re heading next week more about kind of little towns plotted along the coastline yeah it’s stunning really is stunning castles Coes great golf courses and a hold P for par please there you go there you go some very well to finish under par today yeah because really the engine was misfiring badly wasn’t it he was three over PA through seven yeah he’s grounded out good effort and I’m sure he’s really enjoyed this experience you know what he can take from it watching uh a a Workman like Victor hin today yeah he’s been relatable the Norwegian I think he’s been human in the final round it would be fun to see them both finish under par cuz neither of them have looked like they’re broken par but it’s that’s what the pro game’s about just make the best out of it that you can little reset here the line on the ball Victor Just One Last stroke and it is matching 69s today they going to be exhausted after that a double bogey remember what happened at six for Victor holand he’s had five birdies aside from that yeah take the day off tomorrow have a little chill come back out Tuesday fire things up straighten a few little things out get ready for next week absolutely so not long now until everyone is out on the golf course I believe that our final pair in ludvig oberg and McIntyre have just heed off and that is it from us here in the early feature group coverage on Sunday but there’s loads coming away from Renaissance maybe switch over see how it all ends see if there’s Scottish heartbreak once again or perhaps McIntyre will get his fair fairy tale ending at last or bet 12 months later here at the Genesis Scottish open for
