you know I used to be a Lakers fan thanks to Kobe I used to support team uh for because of Kobe Bryant and I supported the Lakers for over 15 Seasons right and at the time I was a Kobe Bryant supporter the Lakers just had a different feel to them in terms of an organization they seem to be transfix on winning yeah they would kind of Swing for the home run plays in terms of bringing in big names and having moves like it like when they got um uh po Gasol at a trade deadline that was a steal they made headlines but all of the all of the news that the Lakers were making for the most part was you know in the direction of trying to win chips of course you had this the incidents they were a bit unique like the one with Shaq and Kobe their breakup and all of that but the Lakers seem to be really focused on enhancing their brand winning championships and that’s something that Kobe Brant uh always um you know promoted Kobe felt like it would it was ridiculous to try to recruit anybody to come play with the Los Angeles Lakers that was one of the issues he had with the white Howard when they wanted Kobe to be a part of those marketing meeting and Kobe was like this is ridiculous like why do I have to convince you to be at the Laker if you don’t know if you don’t know if you don’t if you can’t figure out why you want to be a Laker then you don’t need to be here that was Kobe’s position right because he understood uh what the brand uh stood for but now over the last few years I think the brand has um you can see like an erosion uh you know uh taking place and it’s funny um you know actually I’ll get to that a little bit later so what happened I tuned into a segment today uh that I came across with Chris madg Russo on The Dan Patrick Show uh and they’re on there talking about various things but then they get to the point where they’re talking about the State of Affair fair with the Lakers and basically what Chris Mad Dog Russo was saying is that look the Lakers are essentially turning into the biggest joke right now the biggest laughing stock in the NBA due to the actions that they’re taking uh due to the action that they’ve been taking over the last few years and I was like man this guy is bringing up some very good points and I think a lot of points that are a will concur with so those are the comments that we want to focus on today before even get into want to do now is want to play exactly what Chris madg Russo had to say on The Dan litar show I mean on The Dan Patrick Show and then want to come back and react his comments take a listen to that there we’ve uh spent a little while in the first hour talking about bronny James and he’s the only interesting part of the draft and the fact that uh Rich Paul said hey I if I thought it meant that LeBron was going to stay with the Lakers I would force the Lakers to draft bronny at 17 which I found a strange comment that who is running the Lakers that rich Paul is going to say you draft bronny and then LeBron’s going to stay here and then I started to wonder um could bronny be drafted by Dallas and then LeBron maybe reunite with Kyrie like if he’s a free agent could you see maybe a scenario where in the GM of the Mavs according to Rich Paul is like an uncle to bronny James so that team just played for a title the Lakers aren’t going to be playing for a title probably in you know the rest of LeBron’s career and what’s this come down to play with your son and maybe win another title H listen I don’t think bronnie James is that good I mean he’s not he’s not but if you get point he’s scored Four Points a game at USC I mean gez I mean he’d be on the B he wouldn’t even play at Yukon so he needs another year college basketball that’s the first thing and then if you bring him in and you use the first round pick on him you know you’re gonna hurt your team that way and then you got to deal with you’re GNA play him uh you know you sit him on the bench and then you bring LeBron in and then who’s running the team I think it’s a mess but you’re going to have that with the Lakers Chris you’re going to use a second round pick on him they’re going to use a second round pick yes they’re gonna use a second round pick and let’s be honest Danny on the Lakers the Lakers haven’t exactly distinguished themselves here in the last couple of weeks they were very Curt with the West thing that’s because jeie bus doesn’t like the idea that Jerry left the team because Jerry would the owner Jerry buz wouldn’t pay him he wanted to be paid more than the top 10 GMS and that wouldn’t occur so then two years ago she does a podcast and Jerry West is not in the top five in history of the Lakers what you kidding me he brought basketball to LA and then they handled Hurley and then they only offered him six years 70 million what you want Danny Hurley that badly and you’re gonna make him the sixth highest paid coach in the league that’s not gonna get his attention that that was puzzling now you want to bring reic JJ in and JJ’s doing with LeBron that’s odd I mean the Lakers have not exactly had a they have not had a stellar stretch here uh but you’re right you think they’re G to draft him with the second round and then he stays and then all of a sudden you’re G to put the coach in an impossible spot because LeBron’s GNA want the kid on the floor at times you gotta play Kate LeBron kid’s not ready to play in the NBA that whole thing’s a mess Danny but you’re going to put him probably on a g-league team and then you’re going to yo-yo him you’re going to bring him up nationally televis game LeBron gets like it just feels like he’s going to be like a guest who comes over for dinner and then leaves and maybe maybe that’s how you play Kate LeBron and you know he’s able to be around his son and maybe there’s development I’m I’m with you he should be staying in college one more year but you know Dad the clock is ticking on his dad’s career yeah it’s a very dicey situation I think that if I was running a team and I knew bronnie was wasn’t going to be a great NBA player which he’s not going to be I wouldn’t want to have to deal with this where I got to worry about the father being one of the oldtimers you know great player we need him and I got bronnie do I annoy the father by how about the father says I want Bonnie on the team right now I want him playing 15 minutes a night what are you supposed to do it’s LeBron it’s it’s a very dist it’s not healthy for your franchise I think it’s very messy and I think you’re right I think the Lakers are probably going to be the team that has to deal deal with it because you know they want to play they you know it’s the Lakers LeBron’s on the team as it is he runs the ball club and then you’re bringing a coach in and JJ is gonna be a good coach but he’s got no experience dealing with this nonsense plus they in Lebron a tight so you gotta deal with that if he didn’t get hurly I mean it’s very messy and the Lakers are an older team so you heard what he had to say now before producing this show we actually uh ran some polls on our Channel that I want to share with you we ran them now as is producing the show we did it an hour ago the first poll we put up was this I asked the audience the following question who do you believe the Lakers what do you believe the Lakers main priority is right now I gave them uh two options winning championships or making money and making headlines out of the 10,3 voters in the last hour we have 93% saying making money and making headlines we have 7% saying winning championships the next one we put up do you think the Lakers brand is eroding away out of the 1,200 voters because the previous poll was 1,300 uh 7% said no they’re stronger than ever and then uh 93% said the Lakers are becoming a joke and the final poll we put up is has LeBron helped or hurt the Lakers brand of the 3,200 voters in about an hour or so 177% said helped 83% said uh what is it hurt the brand and one gentleman who just I mean then again you can’t even be surprised one person said oh you know like how can you have hurt the brand LeBron has been helping him you know he helps himself he he’s been the reason they’ve been filling out Arenas and I’m like no you Noob the Lakers always sell out the Arenas the Lakers are like the the the Knicks the Knicks are not good but they always sell out the arena that’s the Lakers for you like they don’t need LeBron to sell uh uh uh tickets in in the arena they’re the Lakers like the Lakers where you go on road if they’re half decent team they’re going to have Lakers fans lited all over the the opposing team’s uh Arena right so I thought that was kind of funny look um to me I think Chris madg Russo is correct number two I think the Lakers are quickly turning themselves into the biggest laughing stock in the entire NBA and I don’t even think it’s a question and you even heard some of the things that they said bring bronny up for a week go send him back for a week bring him back up for a week sending back like like what are we doing right what what are the Lakers all about you know uh um I Heard Gilbert Arenas talk about oh you know the Lakers are the number one franchise in the NBA as being just opposed to the Boston Celtics well I can’t tell I really can’t tell the Boston Celtics have been a team that’s been constantly making it to the easn Conference Finals They just won a championship they have more championships and they seem to be a more serious organization now in terms of headlines they don’t have that because La La Land is La La Land uh and it’s a totally different thing totally different uh lure but to me look um if I’m a Lakers fan right now I’m not happy because you know this year is going to be another circus you know it’s going to have everything to do with everything but winning right and it’s unfortunate right it’s unfortunate but I’m glad that I jump ship uh when I did I’ve said it on many occasions I’m going to reiterate the point there’s no way in hell I will support the Lakers as long as LeBron James is there I think he’s turned that team into an absolute clown show I think his fans have turned the place into a total Circus the way they run around twerking it up all the way up and down the hallway slapping each other with honey running up on people and just basically gy all just gyrating all over the place so I can’t deal with it but I thought that what Chris madg Russo said was pretty interesting so what are your thoughts on all of this what do you
