hello I’m golf sidekick I’m at my holiday home in Thailand and this is what’s in the bag July 2024 Edition the first Club is always a driver this is a graphite design T ad VR6 xflex shaft I’ve been playing this shaft for 3 to 4 years now the big change this year comes from changing from a 10° head to a 8.5 de head I bought the 8.5 Dee head or Facebook Marketplace the 10° head was fantastic it allowed me to keep the ball in play for a very long time but when I could keep the ball in play I started to realize that maybe I need to have a little bit more penetrating ball flight not so high and maybe a little bit less backspin so I got an 8.5 de head comes out much lower more penetrating as well as lower spin giving me a lot more distance that may seem a bit strange to be using a seven or 8year old driver head but I just love it why must I change something that’s working especially when the driver is such a temperamental Club in my golf bag I’m confidential with this brand ping g400 and that’s what I’m going to use until I really need to change it which I don’t see happening I keep the 10° head in case I play a golf course that requires you know 280 yard 290 yards off the te maybe even 275 but requires a bit more higher flight and getting the ball to stop quicker there’s a few Mountain courses here in Thailand that will require that so I’ll take the 8.5 off and I’ll put the 10° on for a little bit shorter distance with a little bit more control as well I do like to play a seven wood but the gap between the driver and the Seven wood needed to be filled in my opinion the three-wood with 15° is an obsolete Club especially with the very shallow face and the low off the dispersion is not that much better than a driver so I got a tailor made SLDR 14° mini driver with a slightly higher face than a three-wood and you only one degree less Loft something about this club off both a t and off the deck allow me to keep the ball straighter and actually hit it longer than any three would have ever had so this one on average is going about 260 yard 250 yard if it’s into the wind it’s going to lose some because I have the tailor made standard stiff flex shaft in it and sometimes the spin is bit High and the wind will push it back but it’s still going to go about 230 yard so that’s a fantastic solution for between my driver and my seven wood one of the main stays in my bag is the Ping g410 7 wood at 20.5 de the reason I keep this clubbing the bag so much is so versatile I can hook it I can slice it I can get it over things I can hit it from 240 down wind or I can hit it into the breeze and get a nice and high Landing soft on a green I put a riid grip on here now riet sent me some grips but I’m not really a fan except for this club I used to hit big drawers with this club but something about the riet grip is just a little bit thicker and somehow it straightened up my ball flight so I keep that grip on only this club the difficulty I have now is to bridge the gap from my seven wood to my 6 iron which is my favorite Club so my six iron is stock yardage of about 195 if I want to step on it I can hit a 205 so what do I hit between 205 and 215 or 220 up to the seven wood one option is the four iron which I do like but only in certain situations all my ions are 301 MB tacos now I choose the 301 MB because I tried both the CB and the MB with the same shaft same swing weight everything and I found that the forgiveness in the MB was about the same as the CB anyway and what I liked about the MB was that the distance control between a great great strike and like a decent strike was much shorter than the CBS so that’s why I stick with the MBS the four iron I like to use especially on t courses as well as courses where I have to keep the ball a bit lower but lately I’ve been trying to find some other Solutions one of those Solutions is something I picked up on the road while I was at some junk store and this is a 9wood 24° I mean it’s a piece of crap Top lanking Delta step this is just junk this cost me about $4 and it’s just a fantastic solution it’s just got a regular flex shaft in it and it goes the same distance as the 4 iron except way higher and comes down much softer with a beautiful draw every single time so if I’m going off the boil with a for iron which can happen you know you sometimes you get a little tense in your arms maybe you don’t have the same relaxation maybe you start to little swing th you start pushing it out to the right and that have to take the forine out the bag and I’ll stick in a 9wood but sometimes if the course is a bit too windy I can’t use that because of the high spin with the regular shaft into the breeze it basically kills 30 40 yards of distance I’ll go back to the 4 iron the other thing I’ve been experimenting with is a hybrid I’m not a big hybrid fan but I bought this one just as a beginner Club to show people how to break 90 by using this of the te and using it as a rescue club and a chipping Club it’s just a beginner Inus four or five hybrid now the big part of this video is I’m doing a great giveaway of these two signed posters I’ve signed both of them here Matt your golf sidekick Matty boom boom as well as this one which I’ve also signed for you over here you can win one of these two posters I’ve hand drawn and hand signed if you just leave a comment down below I love golf sidekick type that in the comment I love golf sidekick and remember to like the video if you don’t like the video we don’t get the required numbers of likes to have the giveaway giveaway results will be done in about a week with a light graphite shaft no flex on here just standard fit whatever you get from decathlon and it’s absolutely money of the tea so I can shape a ball both ways with this club if I need to play between 210 and 230 yards which is absolutely money versatile at the moment this is my First Choice second choice four iron third choice 9wood all my irons are 301 MB tacos I’m a little bit fussy so I had my clubs fitted with KBS T 125 s+ swing weight D 2.5 these shafts are what Eric fitted me into these shafts were fitted for my everyday game not my best game I play Tacomo Sky forger wedges in 48 52 and 56 and then I play a 60° that I’ve been working with Eric Chong on because I really am not good with the 60° in the sky forges I have a 48° wedge which is only 1° more than my pitching wedge at 47° but for some reason this one goes about 10 or 11 yard less than my pitching wedge which is absolutely perfect I don’t question it it could be the grind it could be the sole it could be the amount of Bounce I don’t know but it doesn’t really matter right so this one goes like 128 to 135 yards which is just perfect Gap from my pitching wedge to my next gap wedge which is the 52 degree this one I play at about 117 yards down to about 111 and then my 56° is what I use the most for kind of like finesse shots lofted shots and bunker shots the 60° I’ve been working on with Eric Chong kind of blank look and it’s just got the right amount of grind for me and 8° of Bounce but with that grind you can really affect the bounce quite easily moving the club open and closed it has a full face and this I only use one once around maybe twice around because I just like to use the 56° it’s more reliable when I really need a 60° shot this one is clutch but like I say 60° mainly unnecessary once twice around I could probably get away with a 56° now most of the time the putter that I use is the water player bird dog now this one’s a little bit different to the ones for sale at Water player golf.com this is made of Damascus steel one of the softest feeling Steels I’ve ever felt in my life on a putter I just can’t produce them though because the cost of these is so intensely high that it’s a one of one so I use the deasus steel version if I had to sell this I’d probably have to sell it about $7 or $800 just because of the quality of this steel so that’s my choice number one choice and my second choice is the new water player confidential classic blade putter absolutely money $249.99 at waterplay golf.com just brilliant and with that you get a beautiful and balls grip as well as we give you a little weight counter weight to stick in the top comes with the putter beautiful head cover simple looking clean lines absolutely classical my second choice now I’m an extreme putting nerd at the moment and I have myself my own stimp meter I’ve even ordered from the same company DP or I think it’s DP engineering golf I’ve ordered the machine or the little like ramp that you stick this into you put the ball on and it releases the ball to check lines and to check speeds of greens I’ve even ordered one of those on the way so I’m going to go complete nerd with the putting what I like to keep in my bag is tissue I often need to crap on the golf course and sometimes you have to run in a bush and you don’t have any tissue or even at the kiosk on the golf courses in Tha land have run out of toilet paper they like to use the spray gun which I do love but I do love a little wipy wipe to get it dry make sure it’s clean I’ve been using Inus 20900 golf balls lately the new ones they sent me some that’s why I’m using them I’m not really sponsor sponsored by them they sent me some to try out and I’m trying them they’re not too bad these are zinc sticks by Sun zapper you got green yellow white pink and blue my range finder of choice is the red tiger you can get in the link in the description less than 120 bucks don’t forget not Pink Panther not white elephant red tiger here we have one of the innus 2900 balls I’ve been using as well as the Vice Pro Plus this is what we like to call a putting ball next in the bag I like to carry around Jack Nicholson’s Playing Lessons this goes everywhere with me a great book and I like to just read a little bit before I go out there and make a great video helping you guys to break your scoring barriers I said I’ve become a putting nerd and I actually started experimenting with aimo putting the video will come out soon these are digital levels to me measure the slope and figure the slope out with your feet I generally can look at the slope and actually guess the correct amount of degrees of slope and that actually helps to pick an Aiming spot if you have a little bit of Doubt so I’ve been experimenting with that these levels go with me everywhere levelheaded in here we have my we have my victory socks so these are those compression socks by victory that I like to wear with the insoles I always keep one pair in here because sometimes I forget to take them in the morning cuz I tee off really early and I forget so if I’ve forgotten my victory socks they’re in my bag I Ed a glove supplied by a guy here in Thailand I don’t know the brand it’s got a be on it and he charges me eight bucks a glove or seven bucks a glove so I buy 10 at a time that’s why I can’t accept glove sponsorships cuz they can’t pay me enough money when I can just get a $7 glove here in Thailand like a boss the other important thing is my wrist guard so on here I keep my reminder ain’t that some sheet as well as leverage we always want to be leveraging I like to leverage stuff so this one actually really stinks because I haven’t washed it in about 6 months and the reason I have to wear this sometimes on my right wrist is because I injured myself doing an overhead press and rcking the weights and it missed the rack on the right side and it bent my wrist back I couldn’t turn I couldn’t push I couldn’t pull I couldn’t push that way either for about 2 or 3 months that’s why I didn’t post videos for a while and then it recovered but then I started playing tennis and it got hurt more so I have to wear it again but tennis has actually strengthened the wrist to the point I don’t have to wear it anymore plus it smells like vinegar what else do I have for you in here I have some I have these shot scope sensors that you screw into the top of your club but because I often change my club out and stuff it became a bit of a pain in the ass to keep having to adapt it and you know to be honest I don’t feel like wearing the watch and you know what I’m saying the other thing I just picked up this morning from the post was these Pro Plus shade golf balls I’m not sponsored by any golf ball company so I can say whatever the hell I like I like these for the color and I picked them up I got them from Amazon including import charges and shipping this cost me $80 to get these balls why because I can what else do we have in the freaking bag anything more in a bag for you there’s one more piece of equipment I use and that’s the shot scope H4 V4 I don’t know I think it’s called the H4 and this one is just a little GPS unit that tells me back middle and front to the green that in combination with the rangefinder absolutely money you don’t need anything more than that what a man what a day this wasn’t a very Dynamic video but I’m not a very Dynamic man

  1. Love golf Sidekick! Only golf YouTube channel I can suggest to people. I like that you tell people to get lessons and then show them how to navigate the course with confidentiality.

  2. Right Hand Wrist injury from racking weights

There is something else you could be doing that causes RSI in your wrists 😂😂😂

  3. I love golf sidekick. I haven't watched the whole video yet. I hope Timmy zoom zoom shoots under 75 so I get a chance to win them CB101Ts. LETSGOOO!

  4. Enjoyed your video eating my yogurt and drinking my coffee. On the verge of 69 years old. Play the g400 10.5 regular shaft driver at home courses. In my cottage bag I have a g400 max with reg shaft. Thru knowledge and attitude watching your videos, this past Tuesday I was able to shoot 90 while missing 5 putts within 4 feet. My golf buddies lowest score ever at this tough golf course was 92 so I was pretty happy. I also give credit to the bucket hat that I was wearing.
