The Rolex Series returns to the DP World Tour as The Renaissance Club hosts the Genesis Scottish Open. This year is the third time this event has been co-sanctioned with the PGA TOUR as 75 players from both tours will compete. Rory McIlroy returns to defend his title and make his first appearance since his runner-up finish at the U.S. Open. McIlroy the claimed Hero Dubai Desert Classic earlier this year and was victorious in the Wells Fargo Championship on the PGA Tour in May. Since then, he hasn’t finished worse than tied 15th, which includes a tied 12th at the US PGA Championship and the solo second finish at Pinehurst. Tommy Fleetwood will also be teeing it up in Scotland. Across his last four starts in this event, the world number 11 has finished in the top ten on three occasions and missed out on victory in a play-off against Aaron Rai in 2020. He also claimed 3T at the Masters and has been no worse than a tie for 26th in his last six starts. Ludvig Åberg is in the field this week. The Swede brilliantly claimed 2T on his Masters debut in April and played well for a 12T finish at the US Open three weeks ago. Others to look out for include Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa and Viktor Hovland.

little similar to yesterday felt like I left a few out there um had some good chances coming down the last few Halles and you know missed a little one on 16 and um you know had had a good chance on 17 there that just slip by but you know it’s it’s two solid scores to to open the tournament and um obviously you know right in the Mexico and into of the weekend even in these benign conditions are you still making adjustments for the fact that he linkx Golf and you know things are slightly different yeah absolutely um sort of where where you want the ball to land I I definitely felt like the greens had just a little bit of fire in them today compared to yesterday and you know hopefully with these dry conditions that that continues going into the weekend so we can um you know the the golf course can continue to to firm up and and play I guess even lyer uh but yeah you know today I wasn’t totally on with my swing so I had to manage my misses a little bit and um but I thought I did a good job of of hanging in there even though I didn’t feel at my best um especially over those last few Halles so your thoughts going into the weekend three behind a charging ludvig yeah um you know I’ll have to get off to a good start tomorrow just like I got off to a good start today um you know there’s a few opportunities in that in that first six holes so um I think that’s pretty important and um you know from there you know see where I am but yeah I mean if I you know can keep you know keep playing the way I’m playing and and limit the mistakes um you know I think like you know I definitely feel like there’s a a lower one in me you know there’s saw 62 and a few 63s out there today and um you know if we continue to get conditions like that or like this uh then I think that’s what it’s going to
