it’s hard to know where to start when talking about Amy Yang’s victory at the KPMG women’s PGA Championship because after 16 years on tour and so many times in contention she is officially a major Champion I’m hope Barnett and you’re watching LPGA now presented by surfpro let’s get into it sorry I lost the word right know it’s all all the hard work we our team did together and I’m so grateful for that and I you know all four rounds it wasn’t eough out there but I’m I just trusted how I what I prepared and just I did my best all week y drenched in Champagne After Rolling in her final putt at her 75th major she should be so proud of her Sunday 72 that helped better her opponent’s final score by three Strokes I always wanted to win a major and I I came close you know several times and I started doubting myself if I ever going to win a major before I retire cuz I’ve been on tour quite a while and um you know I am so grateful and very very like happy to win a major and what pressure because she stepped up to the first hole on Sunday and did this fa away oh look out then on five after a bogey on three she was unfaced and went on to chip in for birdie certainly does oh what a moment to make it let’s take a deeper look at what she did this week she ranked first in four different categories including Strokes gained he to Green around the green scrambling and obviously Strokes gain total sounds like the perfect recipe for a major win I asked her on Saturday if she had let herself think about what could happen on Sunday I know there’s 18 holes left but has it crossed your mind what could happen tomorrow um no no well now she can think about it all she wants she had three more birdies on eight 11 and [Music] 13 inside the hole yeah and she did get caught up with a double on 17 oh this is right this is right careful oh it’s not going to stay going to go is it but she kept her composure and rolled in this par putt on 18 she stood the test of time Amy Young wins the KPMG women’s PGA Championship and at long last has her major a major title wasn’t the only thing on the line several players were trying to make their country’s Olympics team including Amy Yang my biggest goal for this this year and um like missing Cuts past few uh tournaments and I saw my uh world ranking went down so I wasn’t sure if this winning is enough to make the team and um but you know I made it so I’m very uh grateful for that and you should also keep an eye out on the Rolex rankings to see where me Yamashita and Ali Ying end up after their top five finishes so with a $1.56 Million winners check it’s Amy Yang who walked away as the champion thanks for watching LPGA now presented by Surf Pro
