to answer your hard-hitting question earlier this week guy on the podcast would I swap lives right now with Tiger Woods I’ve thought long and hard about this really long and hard thought about all the pros all the cons I spoke to my wife spoke to my family she like do it and and I think we’re going to do it I think we’re going to swap um yeah it was a great question by the way to end the last podcast no problem that was from Ryan Tucker I don’t think I actually gave him the credit he was deserved but thank you Ryan Tucker for your question well welcome everyone on to The Clubhouse episode this is normally only Audio Only We are testing this is like a prototype episode we are going to film it this week so you’ll also hear from mean guy you’ll also hear from Matt Ed or Ben whoever’s on the on see them though that’s the only problem oh well that I quite like the mystery okay so Matt’s on the ones and twos over there we might have to get a camera on one point say hi Matt hello the only Annoying Thing is Norm this one naked and to actually put clothes back on again for it it’s a bit of an inconvenience well no one can see what’s happening below the desk got pants on obviously we’ve never we’ve never done a podcast still naked behind the can see little treat every now and again that’s his microphone um but for those who might be first time here then because that’s the thing this is normally a very kind of Friday Audio Only it’s in the um podcast provide it just pops up out the blue B it’s a Friday a little treat get you ready for the weekend right the 105 minutes we don’t talk about a lot of golf what we do in bits bits and it’s a bit more it’s a bit more unscripted yeah not that the podcast is scripted as people will know it’s definitely not scripted there might be some new people who find this that on YouTube who go okay I’ve never seen that before never heard that before didn’t know you a Friday treat well there it is um the main kind of structure of these shows is we have a number of questions off our Facebook group Rick so I’ve got many many questions here um and I would like to fire some at you so if you can deal with that then I will do that I like it and also in the Clubhouse episode we’re going to tell some fun stories in the world of golf I’ve been doing a little bit of research we might not have any this week but next week absolute cracker stories such as um a guy in the US Open recently had two Hing ones back to back which is mind-blowing um didn’t you have two PS back to back once no no it wasn’t me was Matt was M wasn’t wasn’t me mate though right what other question got Carl Williams has said do you think that three off the te is too much of a punishment should you be able to drop where the ball has was lost or just go from the te again it seems three off the te is too high of a punishment you know what I I absolutely totally agree so you go for two off the two re go again 100% a penalty yeah I tot to 100% could not agree anymore and I think you could do either either you could do two off the tea or three from where you want to drop from well then where’ you draw the line literally cuz that could be on the green no as in where you think the ball went out of bounds or got lost I think two off the two would be great I think I do there still is a penalty I know think about simple terms now we’re on a par four I know give it a great t- shot I block out of bounds and then hit a good one as my provisional second shot I’m now next to you you’re hitting your second I’m hitting with third so I’m still at a disadvantage cuz I feel like a water hazard isn’t is a fair penalty yeah it’s a one shot penalty and off you off you go but I feel like off the te there’s been no Advantage gained you’re hitting from exactly the same spot and you’re now hitting your third yeah how do we how do we get this past we just play our own rules moving forward I want three rules passing okay three new rules that that maybe the judge try and sell it to me I’m work for the hi uh guy thanks for having this meeting with me sir guy to you thank you I know that’s the guy the the new DP World chair called guy anyway there’s upand cominging fast-paced World everyone lives in that’s music to my ears Rick I hope we’re ryed on these things we want to work with you you know you’re a great Creator we see ourselves moving in a a Sunday afternoon with a little pencil bag and just just take maybe even taking your dog out there for a walk hey Rick I love nothing more than putting on my pencil bag of playing a few holes in the links picture this okay new cool hip guy from the RNA you’ve just hit your I don’t like to identify as cool I like to identify as mod you just hit a wonderful t- shot down the 18th hole okay you’re on for a record breaking score you can’t wait to tell all your mates at the RNA that you are now you’ve just broke n for the first time okay and you bomb one down the last hole okay and you walk down there and you’re hopping and you’re skipping you’re like this is the best day ever you know what all I’ve got to do here is hit the green two put and I am I am done in fact could hit the green three put it doesn’t matter okay and you walk up there and you’re like my ball is Right absolutely smack bang in the middle of the Fairway it could not be any more perfect and as you get a bit closer you’re thinking hold on a minute that lie doesn’t look as good as it should be yeah I’m getting up there and I’m expecting a perfect Li here in the middle of the Fairway I’m feeling you man got me the feels and you get there and your golf ball is in another man’s or woman’s or whoever’s playing this wonderful game that we now all own y old div oh man9 Tiger Woods that’s such a douche and that happens brother you’d like to think you you why your eyes closing why you cling like that cuz I’m just getting really chilled out in the vibe there been a lot of persona changes since you started this yeah cuz that’s my vibe I don’t like to be one way I like to just be how I am X and fluid wow right okay so I’ll go back to be more serious so you finished you finished in the bun in the divot yeah okay yeah and now what how you play a shot you’re going to thin it through the back of the 18th green you might be injuring a pedestrian you might chunk get five yards in front of you I for someone who’s played golf for pretty much all of my life think that’s unfair and I think it should be changed where you should be able to get a free drop from a divver in the Fairway do you agree can we get this can we get this passed as a new rule Rick I totally agree with you with what you’re saying and there’s nothing more annoying than your golf ball getting placed in a divot and it potentially ruined the best round of golf of your life so I do hear you the problem I’ve got is an RNA we have to think of the game and people trying to bend the rules in their favor the issue of’ got is how Define how do we Define what is an old divit or not we’re playing on the golf links you know this is some of the oldest ground in the country in Scotland there’s going to be natural bits of turf that are underlying that aren’t great aren’t ideal our green Keepers do a great job how do we actually stop people saying that every shot they’ve got is in a divot just therefore prefer the LIE I’d also like to question that saying well it’s the same way as people agree that the animal scrapings or there’s animal droppings cuz it’s total fast so it needs to be a sensible way that everyone your group has decided that if that is in an old dier you can take relief have a quick think about it f Mt should we let him do it or not I’m I’m in agreement I get rid of the rule yeah it’s it’s gone it’s out so we can we can free drop from the div free drop forever you want from knee Height please love it yeah okay that’s another one then I’m going to throw four three wishes the KN the knee height drop it’s staying it’s awful I I feel like such a a little puny is that why you’ve done it because it feels like it’s not it’s not very like empowering like a drop from the shoulder like tin up in the in the film and he’s dropping it from his shoulder it’s it’s a point of statement he’s dropping it he’s like I am not happy with this my arm is outstretched and I’m going to drop it like a real empowered Golf and I want to drop it and then this knee height thing where you got to bend down and you don’t know if you should bend your knee or have your knee straight and you drop it and sometimes it’s way too close to your foot it could hit your foot I hear you Rick but you know at the RNA we’re really inclusive and we find from some feedback from our older players they have issues of mobility and they can’t put the arm up that high and drop the golf ball so we going to make as easy as possible for them so it’s KN so they can bend down can they no they just have to go down a little bit you get that weird awkward stance don’t you where you kind of like semi bending your knees like is this worst knee drop is the worst you get a more of an actual penalty if you drop it though from your shoulder cuz some people but I don’t that’s what I mean some people kind of like place it so delicately it’s like you might as well have just pick and place it and put it down I tell you what then I’ll make you a deal go on not dropping from the shoulder but as Matt said you’re allowed to place it well no cuz that’s we’re going to get a great lie and you’ve already got a penalty yeah you should be allowed to take your penalty and move on look I don’t make the rules I just enforce them you are making the rules but you’ve had one that one’s not having that one we’ll call it we’ll shake hands on that let see your next one you said you had three so you’ve had one what was my next one look I’m a busy guy here I’ve got I’ve I’ve got one no this was the whole reason why I watched this chat yeah well sorry Rick I’ve got meeting at 3 o’ with um shots off the te it shouldn’t be three the whole point of this conversation um I don’t believe I think uh if you hit it out of bounds off the te you should be able to play your second shot from the te not your third look I it’s speed up play people enjoy um because people wouldn’t be looking for balls long as long okay cuz for me if I hit one and I’m like I’m not sure if that’s out of bounds you know what I’ll hit a provisional and I’m going to look for three minutes for that golf ball if it was only a retake I’d go oh guys that’s lost I’m just going to whack another one down there it’s it’s only another shot okay Rick I hear you do you agree with me that golf equipment’s getting better and better last number of years last 10 15 years the average scores would say otherwise yeah okay whatever we know that golf club is getting better we have to protect our golf courses the golf course is getting longer and longer and longer we agree on on the tour level Golf Course getting longer so we have to protect our golf courses if the penalty out of bounds was reduced there’ be more aggressive shots potentially getting played going for greens that may be covered by out of bounds which could oh God potentially make the golf game more exciting for people look I want golf to be boring it’s my job here um imagine the television viewings if people were going for greens and and actually the only downside was it they had to another go at it it Charmed me we’ve got it you’re in you can have it you get people making really sort of dramatic pars they gone two off the tea they’re in the middle of the Fairway like nearly on the green can you do something to me then rck and Matt you know you got this podcast thing going on I’m here at the busy doing a real job if you’re going to continue to do this podcast and make it somewhat successful can you make it a bit more serious and betray the in a positive light please that’s all I ask of you done yeah another one you wanted to say Matt yeah it was similar to the two off the tea so again speeding up play if you’re you know out in a normal Saturday comp whatever you clearly hit one out of bounds and you all see it go out of bounds or wherever and you s oh lost ball walk down to where it’s gone out take the drop from there two Club lengths from the thing you all agree yeah drop there move on I do agree with that I think it’s so silly sometimes I did one isn’t that a local room or some places yeah but I think it should be a proper rule because there’s so many times you see people walking back to the tea like myself another reason to have two off the tea people walking back I’m still not like I’m not couch anymore on me again go well thanks everyone for listening to The Clubhouse episode every week and and Eddie basically said that your round of golf was depressing um what’s more depressing Eddie is your bloody golf well yeah that’s all I was going to say your miserable sod he’s is and he’ll probably hear this so I I do like Eddie I love Andrew I don’t I don’t like Eddie at all massive beef with Eddie yeah yeah if you want it 10 shot challenge you want 10 shot challenge enough sorry but you’ve got to be making cuts for that I think he made a cut this week actually just f i do always keep a track on how he’s doing um bit spicy now might not need 10 shots Eddie Hey listen well you know it’s I didn’t agree with a lot realistically I don’t mind him slagging slagging me off for playing crap I get that but this idea that it’s not helping grow the game or not getting people inspired I thought was a bit of a weird I think sometimes saying that in J I think when you’re in your own lane it’s hard to sometimes look at things outside that and they’re obviously they’ve kind of joked a few times because again I listen every week to their podcast about how they got Spice anymore got the spice up the titles and stuff to get views and they often refer to to you and to us of of doing that but it’s kind of like you got to play the game a little bit Haven you you could make amazing podcasts if they’re not packaged up in a sexy way nobody’s going to listen um anyway Eddie we
