I’m about to do something very brave something you don’t see many YouTubers or many anyone in the world do and that’s give accountability hey I’m already better than the people who are paid to be accountable yet aren’t and yes I’m talking about American politicians the All-Star game is nearing and with that brings us the rosters the announcements of guys who made the honors of being an All-Star and when talking about this recently on who deserved to make it which is mostly everyone the biggest snubs the guys who were unjustly left off many people brought up the reliever situation particularly for the American League and I’m taking complete responsibility for the fact that I really did Overlook that part on who made it as a reliever and more importantly who was left off as a reliever so welcome and if you like people admitting when they’re wrong Come Aboard en join the wonderful people who are subscribe to the channel unless you hate accountability then I’d say damn I guess anyway you know a lot of the times in baseball we go off the eye test we look at things for how we perceive them to be rather than how they really are I mean hey that’s how it is in life a lot too rather than what the reality really is you can look at a duck and say that it’s a tiger all day there’s nothing against the law in doing that just like there’s nothing against the law and saying Tyler Perry’s media movies are bad but that doesn’t change the fact that a duck is a duck and Tyler Perry’s media movies are in fact good so when I saw the relievers who had made it to the all-star game for the American League I didn’t bat an eye when I didn’t see Craig Kimbrell’s name in fact when people said that Kimbrell deserves to be on it I scoffed at that I just didn’t agree with it and the reason I say that is because when I think of Kimbrell at least when I did think of Kimbrell I thought of a guy who has good stuff yeah but he’s just way too shaky and either blows too many games or is on the verge of blowing every game that he’s in that was just the narrative in my head that I decided to stick with and it’s a narrative that was very fair and it has been several times throughout his career in 2018 especially during the postseason Kimbrell was as unreliable as it gets I mean he was actually kind of dreadful out there and Alex cororo did a good job using the starting pitchers in bullpen spots late in games during that run that bailed Kimbrell out other relievers also stepped up Andrew Ben and tendi saved his ass I mean basically the entire team bailed Kimbrell out that entire October last year during the Phillies postseason run Kimbrell made Phillies fans want to get knocked out by Rocky baloa just so they didn’t have to endure his Shenanigans out there I mean he actually was solid through the first four outings but games three and four of the NLCS is what Philly fans still hold to this day as the reason they lost that series the fact that Kimbrell gave up the walk-off hit in the ninth of game three and then blue game four he just wasn’t sharp and with Baltimore this year that version of Craig Kimber just stuck with me I’m going to put my hand up and admit that I didn’t realize how good his numbers were this year so far his ER is 2.1 he’s striking at an average of almost 14 hitters per nine innings he’s been damn good to compare that to a guy who made the All-Star Team Clay Holmes the Yankee closer he’s having an objectively worse year than Craig Kimbrell in like every single possible way I mean his ra is higher he’s striking out way less less guys per Innings on average he’s allowing way more guys on per inning I mean the more I looked at this the more I’m going to feel like clay Holmes is an if he doesn’t publicly apologize to everyone for MLB’s mistake and give his spot to Kimbrell it’s that bad it’s that obvious that he doesn’t deserve to be an Allstar and Kimbrell does it’s very simple Kimbrell has better stats in like every case that’s not at all how he’s been this year overall so previously on Craig kimal the 36-year-old veteran didn’t start off his orial career on the right foot giving up a run in the first outing but proceeded to pitch 10 scoreless innings in as many outings striking up 15 hitters while only walking two but in his next outing kimberwood blow us saved to the a in an ugly one a double a walk followed by another double going on to then walk two more a hitters before leaving the game one the Orioles would lose and then two nights later he did it again except now instead of it taking three batters for the game to be tied it took just two batters for Oakland to take the lead a walk followed by a home run in another game the Orioles would lose about a week later the day after just punching out the side in a 3 to nothing Orioles win now in Cincinnati on May 4th Star Wars Day Kimbrell would give up a base hit to Frey walked Jonathan India before giving up a base hit to Spencer steer to drive home a run thankfully Baltimore won this game as yor Canó would come in immediately after this and eventually end it but in his next outing he was back at it getting the first two guys out in the bottom of the ninth in DC only two then give up a bomb to Eddie Rosario and then walk the next hitter who would eventually score the O’s went on to win this game too but this is now a week and a half stretch where Kimbrell is blowing games and if he kept it up he wouldn’t be an All-Star but thankfully he hasn’t kept it up and he’s for the vast major majority dominated since that outing in DC since that day and at the time of this video being made Kimbrell has pitched 21 Innings and 22 appearances with a 0.43 ER striking out 31 hitters in the process while walking only five he’s been borderline unhitable other than really one shaky outing in New York that I remembered and factored into my thoughts on Kimbell being an All-Star without realizing it was a rarity at this point it was a game where he blew a save to the Yankees but again other than that he has been incredible and the same can be said for the year so far overall the whole thing other than a few shaky outings when he’s not having those few shaky outings most in which came during like a weak stretch he is as dominant as it gets he’s in the later half of his 30s now and is still striking guys out at a high rate and being one of the best in the game it’s really impressive and it’s also impressive and all the more frustrating when you see Klay Holmes as an All-Star and you can still make the argument that there’s another reliever who not only deserves it over Holmes very obviously but maybe even over Kimbrell previously in Seattle the Mariner offense may be for the most part Dreadful but I’ll tell you who isn’t at all Dreadful and that’s Andre Munoz this dude is disgusting he’s been his whole career but 2024 is basically him finding it all together back in April to begin the year Munoz did have a rough time giving up a home run to Josh Naylor in just his second outing and in his next outing didn’t give up any hits to Milwaukee great well yeah until you see that he walked not one not two not three but four hitters I don’t even fully know how it got to that point but it did and it was ugly well since that disaster on April 5th and at the time of this video Munoz has thrown 33 in a third innings in 33 games with an erra right at one his fast ball and sinker are ridiculous straight bullets coming in with many clocking in north of 100 miles an hour he has a funky deceptive delivery that only of course makes it harder to pick up and just when you’re waiting up there ready for something to come firing in he’ll drop a nasty slider I mean stuff- wise he’s pretty damn incredible and what’s fascinating is despite throwing harder than Kimbrell way harder on average Munoz is averaging about three less strikeouts per nine innings so that’s why I say it’s arguable between these two it’s not an argument over if they deserve it over clay Holmes it’s an argument on which two guys deserve it over one another to replace the obviously misplace clay Holmes if you’re going by erra Munoz is one and a half ER would deem him better but Kimbrell does have the better strikeout numbers and his ra isn’t that much higher everything else is pretty much even with each other so I guess you basically just flip a coin Holmes’s ra is over three his war is lower he’s a lower strikeouts per nine than Kimbrell and Munoz he’s averaging more hits per nine I mean if you want to go off with Clay Holmes’s numbers up until May 19th yeah he’s an All-Star absolutely but unfortunately for him everything after May 19th also counts including the ER near 7 he has since that day I really don’t understand it it’s not like the Yankees don’t have enough Representatives if that’s what the issue is Aaron judge and Juan stto are by far enough to represent why do you need a guy who’s legitimately been one of if not the worst reliever in baseball for 2 months and someone who’s literally had a Worst season in every possible way this year I mean maybe he’s better than Kimbrell and Muno is at like bowling or something I really just don’t understand how this happens it makes as much sense as the people who argue aliens didn’t build the pyramids uh they very obviously did not sure who you’re trying to fool here again I’m counting on you clay Holmes to publicly apologize for MLB’s mistake and give your spot in the allstar game to Kimbrell or Munoz it’s only right because this meme has
