all right this is a fun one these irons have been out now for five years they have in recent years helped PJ tour players win millions and millions of dollars and major tournaments and also you want to know the really good news they’re actually still available to buy now brand new so you might be thinking Rick what are these magical ions well they are the tightest 620 CB irons now as I mentioned I’ve been around for 5 years I guess there will be a new cbon out this year back end of 2024 but typically tit List have a couple of different families of ir they’ve got their new t- series which kind of comes out maybe every two years and then they’ve got the CB and the MB CB being cavity back MB being muscle back and in more recent years they’ve only now come out probably every five years which is the right amount of time frame but why these have kind of caught my attention recently is again Brian Harmon last year’s open champion won with these irons in the bag Cam Davis recently won on PJ tour at the rocket mortgage Windam Clark won the US Open in 2023 and also set a course record around Pebble Beach at 12 under par to win in 2024 these I these right in my hands so I went straight into my store room managed to find I’ve actually got a 4 iron a 6 iron and a 99 to test I thought why not let’s make a cool hit video and talk about these irons I remember when these first came out I actually didn’t do a review on them believe it or not but I always loved CB irons I had a set many many many years ago and they’re so classic like they just almost never date if you said to me these are brand new out this year I’d go yeah I agree because they look it there they’re so Timeless I think Titans has done a great job with the MB and cbons um Main stor is reduced offset and a really Slim Topline for player looks slightly more forgiving than the MB model which is the super blade which that’s another story in its own right the blade we’ll come on to that in a minute um and apart from that fairly weak lofted 99 I’ve got in my hand right now is 43° the 69 is 31° and the 49 is 24° and right now they’re still on sale $175 per club and I will would say that if those tour players had invested in these ions if they actually paid for them they would have made a return on their investment after all the money they’ve won so let’s hit some N9 first uh I I just think the CB listen they’re not going to be for everybody it is for your slightly better player but really I say better player I would imagine middle teen handicappers Still rocking these in the bag I think they still look so good and they offer enough forgiveness right let’s hit this 99 straight into the middle of the [Music] green oh that was nice that was a pretty centered Hit My worry is it’s not going to get to the 150 yeah did I just with it being 43° of Loft that is quite weak for a 9 iron Ian that’s a great hit I don’t think I can hit it much better than that and that carried 143 yards beautiful feel really really beautiful feel um they are forged I must admit I kind of wish I’d not I wish I’d potentially had these in the bag for the last five years what could have been for my game a who knows I could have been winning you know The claric Jug and setting course records at marot Worley park right let’s set a couple of nice 9 on top of that oh that’s well that’s left left left oh my goodness I think that is a slight issue with these clubs as much as they are cavity back and they’re a little bit more forgiving as such that wasn’t that bad of a hit a slightly towy strike and that’s gone miles left yeah that’s uh that’s not ideal really yeah and also there is very very very very I mean next to no offset but real that should stop it from going yeah stop it going from to the right another little draw one into that left side of the green they do feel good even though I’m not apart from the first one I’ve not struck those last two gray still feet you can get a real sensation of where you’ve hit it from both of those just a little bit from the toe let’s see if we can find the middle like we did the first one I think because the blade length isn’t super long from Heel To Toe it’s quite easy to hit the toe side of the that was better that that to me felt like I was trying to hit a little bit closer to the heel yeah they they do lack a bit of distance because of the Loft they aren’t as super super forgiving but when hit out the middle they feel absolutely Splendid it’s just that I have to slightly correct where the middle is for me right let’s move on to the six9 next I tell you one thing I do really like these grips Golf Pride Tor velvet 360 I don’t feel like you see these grips as much anymore or if you do that you don’t tend to see the black and white ones feel like they make them all in black now just really they feel really tacky right 6 IR 31 degrees of Loft again not super strong I’ve put the flag out there at 180 which is ambitious my prediction I’m going to carry this maybe in the low 170s um I’m just going to again just almost change where I think Center is I feel like I’ve got to try and hit these a little bit closer to the heel to really activate the center oh that wasn’t the best strike but it’ll be interesting to see how that one finishes up we found just the front of the green with a couple of Lucky hops I think for the majority of golfers and I’m I’m throwing me even into this as well if unless you’re striking close to the middle I think these irons are just a little bit Out Of Reach for most golfers [Music] doesn’t it just go to show like T Pros are quite difficult to change clubs like they don’t find it super easy to go into a new set of clubs and what tit List have done with these MBS and CBS muscle back and cavity back because they’ve really aimed them towards their better better better players and the real best players on the planet don’t want to be changing clubs every year they don’t they want to get something reliable and what they Trust and goes back to a video I made a few weeks back our blades dead I feel like blades and even small headed irons are definitely seen their day like even though we these irons have seen tremendous success recently still not loads and loads of golfers using kind of MBS certainly and maybe a few have still got CBS in the bag oh but when you hit them well that was gorgeous it’s actually done very well for distance that was really well it’s just it’s just a little bit of a lottery of where you strike it from on the face if you’re not absolutely dialed in let’s go one more with the six then we’ll have some fun games with the four [Laughter] iron take it all back with the amazing no they are I I understand why top top top top top players are using these ions because when struck like that they are hard to beat that was that was flush right let’s give this for IR a rip okay let’s do a five shot test with the four iron Stinger fade draw super high and super straight let’s see if we can pull them off right let’s go Stinger first four iron oh that’s gorgeous that is gorgeous that’s the best of the best right it’s Wonder let’s go fade next oh that’s nice as well is this workability the benefit you have of these kind of smaller headed irons it’s worrying that I’ve hit more shots on the Green from 215 yards and I have from 150 yards but anyway let’s go draw next oh a bit too much draw sometimes the problem when I try and draw it but it got the shot shape super high and then straight oh it’s so high but it’s drawn like that is literally the highest for iron I suppose the 24° of Loft so it’s not it’s not really strong lofted for iron at all that was so high right and the last one got to hit a dead straight four iron I I like these irons I do I like them a lot I think they look phenomenal feel so so so good when hitting the middle the weak I’m not expecting massive numbers we’ve not seen that today they’re not super forgiving if you hit don’t hit the middle you are going to get punished that’s that’s the long and short of it I love this idea it’s a five year that’s my guess 5e cycle I’m excited if there is a new CB coming out at the end of this year uh I don’t think it be that much difference to this though I’ll be honest and obviously this is a great servant to a lot of players right now winning multiple m multiple millions of
