oh I can’t stop them I can’t stop them Andy they love you what an amazing thrilling Journey you have given us uh over the years it really has been quite special um are you ready for the next few minutes because I’m not sure I am it’s going to get even not really no I I’ll try and keep it quick too my kids are up there and it’s like way past their bedtime so I won’t keep you long I want to take you through some of the key moments that we saw there in in the video starting with 2012 I know you probably won’t want to start with 2012 when you lost to Roger here on Center Court but the speech you made and I was out here when you got very emotional I remember thinking do you really want to speak and I remember you said I really want to say something so now looking back at that talking through the tears how special was it to speak to the crowd that day yeah look it’s always always really difficult to speak after after a long um you know particularly you know a grand slam final and being at Wimbledon and I’d come that the closest I’d been um and yeah it was It was obviously difficult but yeah it was quite an important moment in my career I think everyone sort of maybe I’m not saying I’m the most uh outgoing or bubbly personality um but I think people probably saw how much you know I cared about the sports and um you know for the for the first time maybe um and yeah it was It was obviously it was an important match important moment and in my career yeah but three weeks later you came back on this court a different looking Court in London 2012 same opponent Roger federa straight sets how big a breakthrough was that to win that Olympic gold yeah I mean definitely was well to that point was the biggest biggest um biggest week of my My Life um to to turn that around after obviously losing in the final of Wimbledon and then to come here and play it was one of my favorite days I’ve ever had certainly as as an athlete um to play in a home Olympic Games at Wimbledon and yeah to beat Roger for once in a in a big big match was uh was nice and then yeah had great um great run in the mixed doubles with with Laura Robson as well and uh yeah it was an amazing amazing week for me and then you went on from there to win the US Open and in the leadup to 2013 Wimbledon I was privileged to host a documentary uh working with you and flew over to Miami to watch you play and train over there in one of your weeks that you did and I’ve got to say I was astonished I mean I knew you worked hard on the court but you put so much more work in off the court the hours in the gym making your body different making your body stronger because you knew you had to compete with the likes of Roger who’s here Novak and Rafa Novak’s here as well and Rafer as well I mean these three you you’ve all pushed yourselves to to better each other well yeah they they were all right weren’t they they um yeah they weren’t the easiest guys to to get past um but yeah look I was obviously incredibly fortunate to to play in this time and I think all tennis fans have been lucky to to witness what they’ve obviously gone on to to achieve it’s been uh yeah it’s it’s been it’s been incredible to to watch what they’ve done it’s been incredible to be a part of some of the the matches and major championships um with them over the over the years and yeah I was fortunate to to manage to get through them you know a couple of couple of times and big moments but um yeah what time to to be be on the tour yeah we’ve been love love watching it as well but 2013 you came in here with so much pressure so much expectation everyone wanting the first British man for 77 years to lift this trophy how did you deal with all of that now you look back on it I it was it was I did find it pretty stressful to be honest with you it wasn’t uh it wasn’t easy but you know obviously had an amazing team of people around me supporting me through you know through all of that uh obviously had you know the crowd um support made made a huge difference and yeah it was you know play playing at home is an advantage in in all sports and I obviously you know I I used it that day um Novak had an off day obviously and uh yeah just managed to to get over the line but yeah uh I didn’t really actually enjoy it as much as I should have done I just find the whole thing like very very stressful um we found that last game very stressful because Novak is so so difficult to put away and as the Championship points were coming and going and your dream just so close I mean what do you remember of that last game I didn’t remember when I got off the court I didn’t remember any of what had happened but I have watched that game back a few times and some of the stuff that he was coming up with um on the match points was was incredible and it would if I’d lost that game yeah it would have been very hard for me to go on to to win but yeah amazing last game and my my I guess with my tennis it’s always been you know a bit of struggle so it was um yeah that last game was always always going to be difficult oh I’ll never forget that day and none of us will ever forget that day and of course three years later you came back to win it again this time I think you enjoyed it even more yeah 2016 was really it was different like I felt way less pressure and the enjoyment I got out of the win was totally different to 2013 I I had an amazing evening that night with all my friends and family properly went out enjoyed it with the people closest to me and yeah 2016 was of the slams was my my favorite one yeah we heard you were dancing as well so that’s good yeah I don’t I don’t remember much of that night I’d had I’d had a few drinks um and I did unfortunately vomit in the cab on the way home as well yeah oh well then that is a proper celebration then absolutely that’s a proper celebration now I I know you’re coming to the end of your career you haven’t decided exactly when you’ve still got matches to be played here at Wimbledon but next year at the Championships here do you think you would come back and watch uh and actually watch matches I can recommend the members stand but I’ve got a feeling that somehow you might be a little bit more Central in this place and I can highly recommend this place so uh do would you come back yeah I’m not I’m not never going to come back here yeah definitely I’ll you a good Watcher it depends who I’m watching if I’m watch I hate watching my brother um you know I find it really difficult to watch watch my brother play um but yeah I love I love tennis I watch it all the time um yeah I I’d probably be more comfortable sitting up there in a coaching box than oh there we go yeah than somewhere somewhere else watch this space uh so what about you did a little bit of commentary you worked with with uh Andy Mack and Tim uh in in the commentary box uh did you enjoy that experience would you go back in there I I I didn’t not not not because of not not because of the people I did it with it’s just uh the match it was an unbelievable match I did Nadal Del ptra was like four and a half hours amazing tennis but just a long time to the commentary box are tiny and it was a long time uh it was a long time to be in there um and yeah didn’t didn’t enjoy it that much to be honest know Tim’s still there it’s okay and Mac um you mentioned your daughters here to watch you’ve got four kids so now you’re going to be full-time dad you’ll be Taxi Driver you’ll be helping them with the homework what plans do you think they’ve got for you when you retire um well they they’ve been waking me and and my wife up um at 5:00 a.m. for the last 8 years um so they’ll continue doing that um they were requesting uh piggybacks the day after my back surgery 10 days ago um but yeah look obviously you know they’ve been amazing that’s something that I really look forward to spending more time at home uh yeah around them I know how much you have said over the years how important your team is it’s a m much a team team effort you’ve got your team in the box there and I know I’m going to ask you to talk to them but I mean I know they’ve got work to do in just a moment and you’ll want them there bright and early tomorrow morning because there’s still work to be done here at at Wimbledon but so many people who have helped you in in your 20 years of playing here at Wimbledon what what message would you like to send to the teams that you’ve worked with here yeah look I’ve had incredible support and I think all the players that are here on the court know that you you can’t do this on your own you need a team of people supporting you the cultures strength and conditioning team physios um in recent years surgeons unfortunately um as well um but yeah I’ve had some amazing people working with me over the years and um yeah huge thank to them thanks to them for yeah supporting me through this um the last few years have been I think it’s been hard for me but I think hard for them um yeah I think it it’s you know it’s obviously been hard for all of us the injuries have been you know tough quite you know quite significant um injuries and yeah we’ve we’ve worked extremely hard just just to be on the court competing probably not at the level that any of us wanted um but we tried honestly you’ve given more than 100% every time honestly thank you and also I mean I I just want you to talk about your family too I mean I know I’m sorry Andy but we have to do this your your mom Judy your dad will and your wife Kim I mean they have supported you encouraged you and allowed you to follow your dreams in tennis yeah I mean look I mean my well I guess I speak on behalf of Jamie as well but I mean mom and dad have been you know were amazing support when we were still today but when we were little and allowing us to go and pursue our dreams um it was you know J Jamie left home to to go to train when he was 12 then he he moved over to Paris and I I left to go over to Spain and I know now having children how you know I don’t like them being away for like you know a day so allowing us to go and train abroad and you know pursue our dreams you know we we couldn’t have done that with without um yeah obviously without their support and um yeah thank you Mom and Dad and yeah I I better say something about my wife because I’ve get in trouble uh if I don’t but this is probably going to be the hard part so um yeah me we we met um the first time when we were 18 years old Kim’s dad is a tennis coach and we met over in uh at in New York for the first time went out for dinner there um at the US Open and I choked a little bit the first time we went out and I I walked her we walked her home to her hotel and I asked her for her her email address I don’t think that’s I don’t I don’t think that’s a normal thing to do um and she came along to actually walk um my the first match he came to watch of me live was at the US Open and I vomited twice in that match once once right in front of where she was sitting I then stood up and vomited on my opponent’s racket bag um and she still seemed to like me so I knew she was a keeper um after that but yeah she’s obious you know been an amazing amazing support to to me to to to my whole family as the best mom and yeah unfortunately in a couple of months she’s going to have to see me every day so things might be Rocky for a little while but hopefully we can we can stick it out together and yeah and looking forward to the the rest of you know our Our Lives yeah yeah absolutely and I know this might be tough but this decision you’ve had to make you’ve never wanted to make this decision to walk away from the sport you love we see the passion the drive the love you have for the game so just how difficult it has it been over the last few weeks months maybe years to finally make this decision where where you have to say that’s it yeah look it is hard because I want to I want I would love to keep playing but I can’t um you know physically it’s just it it’s too too tough and I you know all of the injuries have you know they’ve added up and like I said they haven’t been insignificant but yeah I want to play forever I love I love the sport um it’s given me you know it’s given me uh it’s given me so so much um taught me lot loads of lessons um over the years that I can use um and the rest of my life but yeah I I don’t want to stop so it is hard well we don’t want to see you leave either but ladies and gentlemen thank you Andy a huge round of applause because this man has given us so much Joy over the past 20 years to us and to the game of tennis thank you so much for everything Andy Murray than well that his thoughts are to go over and say thank you to those who have come out to P tribute says a lot about Andy Murray and the fact that all these players all these greats of past and present have come out to to be here on Center Court says even more about Andy Mar how popular he is there we are but it’s about everybody here on Center course and millions watching who I’ve Loved Andy Mari and the brothers and arms well we never want our sporting Heroes to age as we do but but a performer he has been for so many years now always always leave them wanting more

I think it is in these interviews that we can see the true Sir Andy Murray coming out.
Sin duda un homenaje merecido
Magical ❤
This must be the most boring man in the world
Dreadful way to behave. No Scotsman would behave like that.
Class act….on and off the court ..
His Mummy is there wipe his tears away, Give him Nappy 👎

Then mammy goes on to blame a young lass trying to protect herself from injury for ruining her baby sons Wimbledon.
If he was any good he'd still be in it wouldn't he? Stop moaning mammy and accept he should have retired a few years ago
Andy I've always watched him on TV a tennis legend
the absolute worst part about all this, is he'll be back next year. He can't let go.
tear-jerking stuff
Maybe he should transition into an acting career. Perhaps the next Sean Connery 007
Damn i remember watching him as a young guy back in highschool
I am fortunate to live in the era of nadal Federer novak and andy murray…and enjoyed their 5 setters .. fall in love with tennis because of nadal..in 2006 or 2007.. those long long matches
Side note: Andy is such a cutie…
Bottler
An era is coming to an end soon . Rafa next sadly . Respect Andy 🙏🏽🤙🏽
Being a well known and respected tennis player in the prime era of Roger, Rafa and Nole is an insane accomplishment itself. Love Andy
What a Jessie!
Each time I watch this I cry buckets… 😢
Andy is such a great guy
Did he just retire from wimbelton or tennis as a whole
Huge love and respect for Djokovic for taking part x
Sir Andy Murray.
The man who showed me why it's worth a try to fall in love with tennis.
I feel so, so sorry for this great tennisplayer cause we, tennisfans, know that if he wasn't hit by all the terrible injuries Roger, Rafa and Novak would not have won so many Grand Slames !! For me,,,,He's still and will be member of the FANTASTIC FOUR !!!!
He deserves the standing ovation .
he deserves a great farewell
Mr personality
The most overrated tennis player ever
Bye bye 😅
But what about sania mirzas farewell, there is major doubt about her farewell that which country will be going to host farewell wheather it's india Or pakistan. She actually loves both country
